Someone’s dog got out in AV. A scared little cutie who is clearly not sure which way home is. When she (I assumed from the pink collar) came into my yard I tried to approach her to get the info from her tag, but she was very skittish and ran away. I also noticed the tag was either old or some kind of technology. It had no info I could see from about 4 feet away, but was plastic and looked much thicker than a regular ol’ metal tag. She was shaking and I hope she gets home! I have no clue what to do as I also want to stay safe and don’t want to frighten her anymore. Anyone missing a pup? If I see her again, I will get a picture. She is a tiny dog, I can’t tell if she’s hungry or just slim, but her entire head is brown, body white with brown spots, and she’s terrified and it will be cold tonight. I hope her owner or someone who knows her sees this. Thanks!

Hiii! I’m 24F and looking to make some new friends around the High Desert, preferably Hesperia/Victorville/Apple Valley area! Meeting people naturally is hard nowadays so I thought I’d give this a go ♡

I love art and animation, nature, gardening, writing, fantasy, animals, psychology and a bunch of other random things. My music taste is VERY funky and all over the place lol, I listen to pretty much everything but I especially love alternative music. I love people who are passionate about their interests and can yap about them for hours!! Leave the nonchalance at the door please!!

I’m down for all kinds of things, whether that’s getting food, thrifting, exploring, listening to music, or just hanging out and talking about whatever. I’m not much of a gamer but I love to watch people play them! I’m sober but I do smoke weed, if that’s relevant to you.

Mostly just looking to meet some cool people, make some connections, and hopefully find some friends I can be silly with and have a good time around! :’) Please don’t get the wrong idea though because I am happily in a relationship and faithful to a fault.
Feel free to message me if you think we’d get along! Tell me a little about yourself too!! ♡

I’m not the one who recorded this viral video, but I do live in this exact neighborhood. I’ve seen heavy wind gusts, dust devils, etc but nothing like this. I drove around and saw many fences destroyed, trees broken, cars damaged. Dang nature you scary !

I got an extra ticket to the sold out event at pappy if someone wants it! Music from the cartoon of Hey Arnold :)
I’m going solo and couldn’t find someone to go with

Hello, May I use the old photo of the Mojave Desert old telephone booth for my blog? I saw it was used on facebook.

Hey everyone! My name is Shea Freeman, I’m a comic based out of Las Vegas. My wife and I are headlining Rock Gallery Comedy Club this Friday 10/23 at 8pm, and we’d love to have y’all there!

A bit about myself… I am a former “ugly baby” turned sexy adult, telling my story about life with Crouzon Syndrome. I was recently featured on Kill Tony: Live at the Intuit Dome and won 3rd place overall (out of 500+) in the 2025 World Series of Comedy. My wife Andrea Vicunia is also an award winning comic from Madrid, and performs regularly across the country in both English and Spanish!

Hope to see yall there!

long shot. a few years ago we moved and my husband gave away our Halloween box that had a few homemade costumes I really miss. they were a special part of my kids childhood, and just though maybe someone might have them. one was a purple dress and mask for Shock from NMBC. one was the skirt and armor for Astrid from How to Tame Your Dragon, and one was the pink dress for Eleven from Stranger things. these were hand sewn girls sizes around a 7/8 and clay foam accessories. Im mostly interested in finding the dresses. everything was in a large purple Rubbermaid container.

Hello, anyone know of any good trunk or treat spots for the upcoming week and leading up to Halloween? I know the city of Victorville has the HallowBoo drive thru on Friday, but is there anything else? (Preferably free ones) Thanks!

Im trying to quit some substances but its still too early for a complete cold turkey so im tapering. Looking to just smoke tabaco for now while I go through this so im looking for places that dont charge too much for cigarettes or other products. I’ve been going to liquor stores but if there’s any where I can save even a buck or 2 please let me know!

Also if anyone has any tips on quitting an addiction that would help a lot too.

Thank you for your time <3

Does anyone know any neighborhoods in Barstow that have active yard sales?

Hello I wanted to ask this group if you knew any where I can volunteer to help donate or serve the community during the holidays. Is there any food pantry or soup kitchen or somehow i can help people this holiday?

I feel a little silly posting this and doubt there’ll be a response. But it’s worth a shot! My loneliness has been eating away at me. I’m just awake, laying down on a restless night. I’m 20F and would appreciate some company. Nights like this get really lonely. I’m 21F

Looking to play chess with someone.

Just to clarify I’m looking for a music open mic.

Visiting family at the end of the month with a 1.5 year old. Looking for your favorite things to do with toddlers in the area. Thanks!

Hi,

Im looking for places to shoot near Victorville area. I do lead clean ups of shooting spots and prefer a high traffic area. Hodge road is too busy with people shootong to go out and dig lead out. Im new to this area, trying to get some lead and help out the environment a bit. Any advice helps. I do a little trash clean up as well, spots with high traffic the better. A spot with a bunch of trash or brass on the ground is a good sign. Thanks.

Hey, new to the high desert area. Living in helendale. I am trying to find some new people to hang out with out here near victorville. I'm down for anything, watching a movie, singing karaoke, or watching paint dry. As long as we hang out, have fun and have good convos.

Hello there!

Next month, a friend and I are planning on driving in tandem over to Las Vegas from the Bay Area after work in a single sitting (which is in no way whatsoever going to be sketchy, but I do like road trips in the desert, so I'll do it regardless), and I was planning for an eventual possibility of having to stop at some motel to sleep, in case we get too tired. However, as I'd rather save the money, and because it would probably be a great meme-filled experience, I am considering bringing my tent, drinks, and other camping gear, so we could set up camp in the desert some time around 10-11pm, before departing the next day to finish the rest of the drive. And this leads me to the question...

Are there any easily accessible spots off of CA-58 or I-15 which lend themselves to adequate overnight camping? I've been to Zzyzx, and over there seems like it'd be really cool and vibey to set up a tent, but I'd want to know of other opportunities. As much as I'd love to spend 9 hours behind the wheel after an 8 hour workday, I am starting to get up there in the years, so I might (ahem, definitely) be biting off a bit more than I can chew, so.. thanks in advance!

Hey whats up! I've been looking for friends in the high desert for a while now. I am hoping I can look for friends that want to have conversations and actually hangout with in person and do stuff. I am hoping I can find some soon.

For being only two hours from downtown Los Angeles, Joshua Tree is incredibly isolated, harsh terrain.

Like being on the surface of Mars. And there’s no light pollution out here. The stars shine bright. So, I can see it all: Jagged rocks. Spiky cacti. And a whole lotta nothing for miles on end.**

So many people die out here every year.

Heat stroke. Dehydration. Rattlesnakes

…or they simply disappear. Never to be seen again.

My eyes just focus on the blue light.

Simply can’t help myself. I’m mesmerized.

Making bolder and bolder strides, I’m like a step-marching soldier in my Birkenstocks. The moonlight’s shadowed by the blur of the crooked silhouettes of passing Joshua Trees.

You know, the thought’s not lost on me:

Of course I’m seeing a strange light out here in this particular desert.

A UFO in Joshua Tree.

You’re kidding, right?

From the Integratron in Yucca Valley, to Skull Rock, to the Noah Purifoy Outdoor Art museum — weird vibes abound around here.

The landscape’s haunted with stories of strange sightings, littered with strange people. Freaks. Survivalists. Cults. Believers. “Experiencers.” Abductees. So-called “Frequent Flyers.”

Tonight almost feels inevitable, really.
