General This statement is suck and I will prove it
Rock steady:
They said it a solution to ragdoll but do people actually use it to counter ragdoll like "intended"? no, rock steady are for melee and there isn't that much people use it on bot front, and AH already nerf the ragdoll a long time ago, if you actually play the game you will see that ragdoll are worse in the past, this is an example: patch 1.004.100

AR/ GL-21 One-Two:

They don't even use the One-Two, why? because the ergo, is the grenade launcher are an attachment will they use it? I will bet that's a no because they often hate low ergo weapon and added attachments like the grenade weapon will lower the ergo a lot.
this game doesn't need a deep customization system and most people will use low ergo or low recoil anyway if they did, even now if the weapon have low ergo people will striped all the attachments for the ergo
Mech customize:
AH already confirm that there will be no mech customize, and HD1 already don't have that, this is HD2 not mech warriors, mech are just a temporary power up that you can use and even if HD2 have it then I will bet people will only use meta arm like auto cannon and anti tank cannon, it will be nightmare to balance.
I kinda ok to the take that vehicle shouldn't be in WB but after 1 time and AH already change it with scrap 1 WB and make a campaign for the tank
And for the armor customization:
AH already hard confirm that there will be no transmog BUT still leave open for color change, the joke "limited design" are just wrong a words twisted
And this new armor changes camo depending on planet like the SEAF, this could be a test for armor color customization, who know, the point is AH never deny that they CAN'T added color customization for armor, I personally doesn't care that much about armor color that much.

Honestly, my only issue was reading the post. All good and valid points. Anyone who has a problem with AH can be referred directly to their slogan thing, "A game for everyone is a game for nobody".
24
u/Pedrosian96 22h ago
But tgat jeopardizes criticism as a whole. You can love a game but still see issues in it and voice those issues.
Simply using their soogan as a deflection addresses no problem at all.
20
u/Niky_c_23 21h ago
true, valid criticism is always good, but expecting a change in mechanics and getting mad when it doesn’t happen is just pretentious. if your vision aligns with ah’s then have fun with the game, if it doesn’t find a game you like more. any feedback is good feedback but that doesn’t include doubling down on things the devs already said they don’t want in their game
9
u/RuKidding0MG 21h ago
True, youre correct. I have my own criticism of AH's design choices, I wont deny thay, and they do occasionally seem to shoot themselves in the foot, but it was more of the people who harp on about AH being a predatory company. They are a long shot from some of the other heavy-hitters, but ultimately they do need to still make money and pay their people. That was really what I meant by the slogan thing, theres always room for improvement, but if you try to please all the players by adding and changing everything in the game, it will end up like CoD

u/Largarys 18h ago edited 17h ago
Most of the criticism is “arrowhead is lazy” as if they are game developers and know exactly what a day in the office looks like. We’ve had the exact same thing probably over a thousand times in the minecraft community with Mojang. The devs have a vision, it’s never going to align with everything you want. The vast majority of the people who play the game enjoy it without complaining on reddit. This game isn’t going to die because of no customisable armor or a war bond or stratagem some people don’t like

I mean can you blame them? Arrowhead killed all our dogs!
1
u/phillip_defo 22h ago
I mean it's besides the point, what I was getting at is that lots of people see anything that is critical of their opinion, pointing out that its based on an inaccuracy and their instant reaction is to attack them

Not evil. Thye just like selling solutions instead of giving us things that should have been in the game since day one/drop of said strats.

if they selling the solution, do you even use it or you whine about ragdoll?

See my current issue now is that they are giving us alternatives to what they said they won't add. And people are still complaining, like at least you got SOMETHING. On that point people don't seem to get that you don't need all of the warbonds, if you see one and don't like it, dont get it. Or they're misunderstanding a passive like the current one, you get no choice in how the armour looks, it AUTOMATICALLY changes depending on your environment. The only say you get is what planet your on.
Average player: "We want this thing" AH: "We already said we probably don't want to add that because of the style of game it is, but here's something similar that you can have that we think fits better into the universe, if you want it (meaning it's completely optional)" Average player: "How dare you"
14
u/Sea-Contract7974 23h ago
you don't need every WB and you don't need it on day 1, Idk why everyone insist on need everything on day 1, it isn't like the WB gonna be gone or raised price
1
u/phillip_defo 23h ago
Exactly! It literally says it in the tips when your loading. Which is why I do everything at my own pace. Say I have a sick day, or I have some kind of special spare time, I will grind (IF I WANT TO) but usually i don't so I'll just play the game and get it passively. I mean personally I think they need to remove the cap on medals. Ik maybe they don't particularly want us to be able to buy out an entire warbond on day one. But equally I think its unfair that you stop getting rewards after a certain point, which kinda pressures you to buy something or grind. Which I don't see talked about at all. I think that's more an issue than warbonds not being free.
4
u/Sea-Contract7974 22h ago
and AH don't even release the WB that fast, more than a month for a WB are enough time to get 2 WB and last time they delay WB for 4 months everyone already want to burn down AH

One thing chronic complainers can never reconcile with is that the game has, does, and will always survive even if their wishes are never addressed... warbond comes out, Arrowhead rakes in money by the tens (maybe hundreds) of thousands, update drops, players come in by the tens of thousands. And in the same breath, the will say "A game for everyone is a game for no one!!1!" as if they aren't the same people complaining and throwing fits over a difficult game and justified weapon nerfs / fixes. Arrowhead appeals to the mainstream (which, by the way Reddit/Discord dwellers, you do NOT represent the mainstream), complain. Arrowhead appeals to their original playerbase / niche, complain.
Chronic complainers will never be happy, that's why they're chronically complaining.
60
u/unzips_katana 1d ago
The part that really baffles me is when people say stuff like "arrowhead is killing their own game," or "the game is beyond saving," like it's somehow unplayable in its current state. There are no other games out there providing the same experience this one does, for all its flaws. I can imagine a version of the game I would like better, but the one we actually have is one of my favorite games as it is, and presumably it is/was for these people too because they can't stop talking shit about it.
-17
u/Neo-Naga99 18h ago
I cannot play a full mission on the MO anymore without softlocking, hardlocking or crashing and I haven't been able to since cyberstan.
The game also runs at sub 30fps on my overclocked rtx 3060
It very much is unplayable on pc at least.
16
u/Fun-Manufacturer5876 18h ago
Bro, how old is your PC? 💀
-7
u/Neo-Naga99 17h ago
Well considering the RTX 3060 came out in 2021, not old enough to be relevant. I also have a second pc running an rtx 3080 which also struggles to play this game at a stable and acceptable fps
The RTX 3000 series is barely two generations old btw it is anything but obsolete and the 3060 is also the single most popular GPU currently, there is no excuse for it to run like I'm trying to Jerryrig that shit on my switch
10
u/Bring_Back_Challenge 17h ago
This engine is more CPU intensive so just listing your GPU is not relevant.
Assuming your CPU also sits just above recommended stats you may need to not try running it at 4K on an ultrawide monitor or whatever
-6
u/Neo-Naga99 17h ago
11400H undervolted overclocked (and I tried without, since I know this game also loves to BSOD on oc that are stable for anything else) +3060 on the first pc, running at 1080p in optimal scenarios, other bullshit optimized CPU intensive games like MHWilds run at 60fps on there (with dlss quality) R9 7900x +3080 on the second build, running at 1440p 16:9 ratio and getting 60 to 90fps with progressive degradation down to 40 after one mission What now smart guy
8
u/Objective-Cow-7241 17h ago
Bruh.
The game will always be alive that’s a given.Fortnite is still alive
The fact of the matter with all of the warbonds is that this game is slowly becoming a stellaris in that the actual whole game is $400 of what are basically DLC’s.
-11
u/jedinut 1d ago
i mean that's a little bold to say it will always survive. i mean just a look at Steam Charts shows that the last major update had the lowest and shortest player peak of any of the major update/event peaks. pushing devs to add qol, endgame content, and customization to increase replayability is how games survive. white knighting for devs, on the other hand, is how you get stagnation and a shrinking playerbase.
11
u/Alkalinus 22h ago
Devoid of libery didn't have less players then other updates by a large amount. You are also forgetting that it was structured differently compared to other updates, with less immediate content the immediate player base was not as large.
There is also a difference between asking for things and demanding them to add things like a spoiled child, this community seems to think for some reason that the devs owe them to always add what they ask. AH does listen, it's just that people choose to ignore the times when they listen so they can push the narrative of them being evil or something
5
u/Parahelix 22h ago
This has been a pretty stacked year for great game releases. I know I haven't had as much time to play HD2 as I would like. But I'll still keep coming back. There's just no other game like this one, and it's still a blast to play!
3
u/Bring_Back_Challenge 17h ago
mean just a look at Steam Charts shows that the last major update had the lowest and shortest player peak of any of the major update/event peaks
Sure, within one standard deviation but still sure. Did the core playerbase numbers after the drop change? Oh no, it's just the folks who poke back in for a few weeks every few months? Alright then cool.
-16
u/PraireGentleman 20h ago
“It’s survived”
For how long? The game is an infant and it’s barely breathing. Player numbers keep dropping and that’s bad for a game that’s allegedly trying to keep up replay ability.
AH doesn’t attempt to appeal to
anyone but themselves. Stratagem bouncing is an excellent example of something that virtually nobody in the community is complaining about fixing. It’s something we know is incredibly simple to fix. Yet AH claimed it would take the rest of the year and a dedicated team7
u/Epesolon 17h ago
The player count has been basically the same for two years now. ~40k at the low points, +100k around major updates.
There's literally no signs of the game struggling at all.
7
u/Bring_Back_Challenge 17h ago
Player numbers keep dropping
I will never not love this statement being made when it's so easy to fact-check and show to be bullshit. The games core playerbase numbers have been within one standard deviation of the average on PC since basically July 2024, six months after launch and when the folks who chase viral hits moved on. The core playerbase overall has grown since then on console also which is clear when you look at the player numbers in-game at peak times (I know that's hard to do when you stopped playing many months ago but just trust me here). Or do you think the stable player numbers that sit at around 415-450k (total, not just playing at peak times) are constantly churning through new and older players?
AH doesn’t attempt to appeal to anyone but themselves.
Ignoring the hilarious inaccuracy of that statement - is that a problem? Seriously, why are you upset at creatives making something for themselves and folks like them and not you?
It’s something we know is incredibly simple to fix. Yet AH claimed it would take the rest of the year and a dedicated team
You: It can be turned on and off easily why isn't it turned off!
AH: We don't want it just turned off so stratagems get blocked by things above you, we want to tweak it to achieve the goal of not being blocked and yes not having things like turrets be up above most enemy reach so we are working on that
You: Why are you taking months to just turn it off?!?Grow up.

u/Boljedor21 23h ago
Are you guys allergic to content? Would meaningful weapon customization ruin the game? No.Would mech customization ruin the game? No. Would armor customization make the game unplayable? Also no. If arrowhead decides to add this features and you don't like it I'm more than cool with that just don't interact with said features, it's literally no lose situation.
53
u/poebanystalker 22h ago
It's like these guys don't want the game to improve. Heaven fuckin forbid AH gives players more options to customise their equipment even more to their own liking.
-34
u/Triscuit_Alfredo 21h ago
They do, every month with the warbonds. You just have to pay for it, which is a fair trade. Idk about you but I do not expect others to put in time and effort making something for me for free. Arrowhead does not exist to make you content, they exist to make money by selling you content.
16
u/poebanystalker 20h ago
Are you fr rn? Soon we're gonna be at how much, 25 warbonds i think?
ArrowHead is not gonna go bankrupt all of a sudden by throwing us a freebie. Or hell, they could've just put attachments in warbonds, instead of whole ass mediocre gimmick guns.
Would some people complain? Yeah obviously, but at least it would be something.
6
u/versas-only-vice 18h ago edited 18h ago
While I agree that the game is given regular content updates I think the most succinct way to phrase my disappointment with the present implementation is that, warbonds bring with them an element of grind that is outright hostile to new players. Even if you are willing to shell out money to buy SC, which many people aren't, you need Thousands of medals for Helldivers Mobilize, and about 7 or 8 pages in you are really kind of better off spending those medals on a new warbond instead because you will unlock new equipment with a better medal economy.
And medals are not exactly challenging to get by any means of course but at low levels of play it's painfully slow unless you are hitting POIs. Which, if you are doing that you are also accruing SC.
Really I think it's in Arrowheads best interest as a company to make more content that's accessible to new players specifically, like how Helldivers Mobilize had several pages of very very cheap gear, or better yet more Réquisition slip gear! Something to signal to players that haven't owned the game for years that, they are also being served with the new content.
Edit: Sorry, I hit send way too early. Got sniped by the new warbond for my thoughts. You know how it is
4
u/Fine_Writer_6261 18h ago
Tell me, how do you play the game? Have you perchance BOUGHT it with money so you can play? Why are you all so hellbent on sucking off a company. It ain’t gone let you hit lil bro
35
u/Vilekyrie 22h ago
You don't understand, we MUST defend the multimillion dollar company. No complaints EVER!
-15
u/Triscuit_Alfredo 21h ago
Complaints about actually issues, excessive ragdoll, strategem bouncing, and hellpod steering are all great and good feedback. Whining that they do not spoon feed the playerbase free content every month is not.
-12
u/Triscuit_Alfredo 21h ago
The demand here is for content, which is normal in a live service game like helldivers. Whats really weird is how most people (idk bout u cuz u dont specify) want this for free…like I get it free stuff is cool but where is Arrowhead expected to recoup time and resources devoted to these projects? Even if they want to do something who is to say they will get the greenlight without a plan to make money off their time. Also why would a company, who exists to make money while providing a cool game, spend time on something they wont make any money from? These warbonds are a direct result of player feedback, that is awesome and should be something Helldivers players like not constantly get mad about. The things players want are implemented into the game on a very regular basis, does it suck you have to pay for it? Kinda but that is how they are able to keep making the content, money has to come from somewhere and Helldivers is not a charity project.
11
u/Boljedor21 21h ago
It's not for free. Me, you and all who played the game even once already paid 40 or so dollars. But I'm okay with paying even more for content. New modules for guns like under barrel shotgun or something could be locked behind a warbond, same goes for mech customization. For me personally what would be a good compromise between players and arrowhead.
-13
u/Metzger4 19h ago
Just as an fyi, adding a feature players may not use is a waste of time and resources from a business perspective.
54
u/Faddishname228 23h ago
Only community I've seen that so against customization, heaven forbid I want to strap an G/L to my liberator or a shotty to my Diligence
-25
u/Dlh2079 22h ago
Transmog and mech/tank customization ive got nothing against.
However I have no interest in a cod style weapon customization system. I like there being some delineation. I dont think it would "ruin the game" because thate melodramatic af, but I dont think it would bring much meaningful benefit either.
19
u/poebanystalker 22h ago edited 22h ago
Is weapon customisation bad now just because COD does that?
Also you can just... Not use it if they would add it.
3
u/Faddishname228 22h ago
The meaningful benefit is varied ways to play, to fully express the abundant weapon combinations for varied situations. Don't like it? Don't use it. Like it? Use all of it. If they're going to insist on adding guns with this attachments, I see no reason why we can't use it on other guns.
You can keep those guns unique identies to quiet easily. If liberator can get a G/L have the One-Two get alternative grenade types it can Access, there's no downsides
0
u/Borangs2 21h ago
There are downsides and that is power creep. Let's imagine that we got full weapon customization as some people want with underbarrels, suppressors and whatever. What is the reason to not put both on in 100% of cases?
The grenade pistol is commonly seen as one of the best secondaries and this is essentially putting a grenade pistol on every primary, or a crisper on every primary. If so what is the reason to ever pick the grenade pistil or crisper again? They become obsolete instantly.
The same case is with suppressors. Why would you ever pick one of the default suppressed weapons when every weapon can be suppressed? What's the point of the suppressed smg I've forgotten the name of when the cyote with a suppressor is objectively better in every way?
It is possible that full weapon customization increases varied play, but it is equally likely that it would actually decrease it. What's the point of a lot of weapons when you can pick a better one who's drawback used to be that it had no gimmick, and then attach the gimmic of 2-3 other weapons on it?
1
u/Faddishname228 20h ago edited 18h ago
Power creep in 100% PvE game is not something I'm going to bulk at. But that still doesn't mean everything is without purpose. I imagine you get attachments by buying the warbond the gun is part of, e.g you get a silencer when you buy the Redacted warbond, then you can put that attachment on all viable guns. That way you getore bang for your buck and alternatives to things like the crisper and grenade pistol instead of replacing them, it will allow depend on which warbond you value more
That's another thing to prevent power creep, you lose something to gain something. E.g under barrel options restrict you from using grips and torches, silencers aren't as good on other guns because they don't have subsonic ammo, etc etc. there's ways to balance all of this.
Another way is restricting what guns can use what. E.g Liberator penetrator can get silencers but no under barrel options. The only gun I'd have be fully modular would be the basic liberator so we have a reason to use it
39
u/RaNerve 23h ago
Yeah but like—why can’t the one-two be better? Why can’t we just improve these things instead of selling warbonds to people base of tangentially related grievances?
I just want to know why there are so many barriers to having fun. Why does the GL launcher on the one two suck ass? Why does the shotgun in the new gun feel like it’s shooting marshmallows? Why do so many weapons require peak physique to feel good?
Like what’s the point of all this shit? Why do most pistols suck beans? Why does most of the nades? Why does the pineapple nade exist?
-1
u/Sea-Contract7974 23h ago
I can use every weapons to their fullest potential so I don't know what are you talking about GL launcher are use for utilities like bug hole, squid ship and fab, it sometimes can cause a good AoE damage but it mainly for utilities to free you from a grenade slot or for pistol
and the secondary are sidearms, it doesn't need to be op, and even that the Peacemaker still have 100 Ballistic damage, pineapple nade are good what are you talking about
and you need peak physique to feel good doesn't mean the weapon are bad, it mean you're not good enough

u/YummyLighterFluid 22h ago
It kinda is tho that fucker is a great crowd clearing tool for troopers and lighter bugs while also still damaging heavier enemies like devs and spewers and such its been one of my most picked grenades besides the impact incin and the melta and i play diff 5 to 8 regularly
4
u/BSY_Reborn 21h ago
My point is that a grenade that clears squishies and does a little damage to bigger guys is just not great, especially on higher difficulties. For context I play almost exclusively D8-10 and try to full clear every map, and while I don't only use meta gear I don't intentionally use stuff that sucks just for the challenge.
Pretty much every time I die, it's from something big that I wasn't able to take out in time, or from something far away that I didn't see. Maybe 1/100 deaths are from a light enemy. The reason for that is light enemies are very easy to kill, so having a grenade that's main purpose is to do that makes it a bad grenade, when that slot is competing with pretty much everything else. There are even better horde clear grenades if that's what you want.

u/RaNerve 23h ago
You had me going until “pineapple is good.” A little less sauce and I’d have been baited.

Or... the person likes them. Ya know not everyone cares about being totally optimal all the time right?
Hell some of the most fun I have on the game personally is running lower level dives with gear I dont normally use.
It is possible to like and enjoy using something that mediocre. Ita a pve video game, its really not that serious

Dude pineapple grenade is dope. Its a miniature airburst. Cc is great with that thing.

Why can't we improve these things instead of selling warbonds?
Because what you are asking to be improved, at least in this case is not a failure, it's your opinion. On the other hand, warbonds are the form of content in this game. You don't have to pay for them.
Why are there so many barriers to having fun.
There are not, in fact all the opposite. For what I'm reading it's all you.
Why does de GL in the one-two suck ass?
Because u're thinking you should be able to nuke 30 bugs with it, which it shouldn't. It's the same grenade the GL stratagem launches, and it's meant for having a easy & fast tool to close spawners. U're using it wrong. U want the GL stratagem for what u're using the one-two for.
Why does it feel like the shotgun in the new gun is shooting marshmallows?
It really doesn't, it's medium pen and hits like a truck. What it doesn't have is stagger, it's a finishing weapon. If you're trying to hold a line of 30 bugs with 4 underbarrel shells tho, u're in for a bad time. Obviously.
Why do so many weapons require peak physique to feel good?
Are u starting to realize yet it's all your opinions? 'Feel good', how can I even measure that. I think if you truly need peak physique to use every weapon maybe u should be playing crosswords instead. I don't think you know how to shoot in this game.
Why do most pistols suck?
Are we playing the same game? Missile pistol, Talon, Dagger, Ultimatum, Breacher, Bolt Pistol, Crispr, Warrant...
Why do most of the nades suck?
Seeker anti tank, Giga nade, Melta mine, Immolation nade, Dynamite, Gas nade, Pyrotech... here you're specially wrong, lol.
I mean, you guys really need either therapy or touching grass for a bit. Leave the screens for a couple months. Half your complaints come from you being outright bad at the game man.
4
u/RaNerve 22h ago
Pick rates indicate it’s not just my opinion—but sure. All y’all do is make a bunch of assumptions and put word in my mouth. It’s such obvious bait. Like “nuke 30 bugs?” Really? Nah you’re right. Thanks for telling me what I want. I want the one-two to actually play the game for me and nothing short of that it’s literally trash. Productive conversation.
-7
u/Agent_range 22h ago
U're failing to understand, if you call the one-two gl bad it's because u're, objectively, using it wrong.
The only situation in which one would say that is trying to nuke a group of enemies, situation which the gun isn't made for.
U can victimize yourself and make it like I'm dismissing you, but I've spent way more time reading and trying to understand what u said than you, based on the answer 10 seconds after my comment. U can deflect or try to bullshit me now, but u said what u said.
You can do what you want, you don't have to listen.
29
u/TH3_GH05T_42069 1d ago
Actually the One-Two's ergo isn't really that big of a problem. Even while it handles like a fuckin brick with a trigger it can still put in work. It's real issue is it's piss poor ammo economy.
13
u/n4turstoned 1d ago
But is ammo economy really a problem in this state?
We have 3 different options to reliable get ammo on demand, with one option that instantly brings us to 100 %
Back in the days, with out upgraded destroyers and much longer coll downs and generally weaker weapons you burn through ammo in no time but nowadays i hardly have any ammo issues2
u/TH3_GH05T_42069 23h ago
Well yeah, with factors like mag size, spare count and reload time, with something like the One-Two, your gonna be finding yourself needing it in a position you can't immediately reach it. You could find yourself needing a gun but unable to reload or grab supplies due to the pressure being put on you.
6
u/Unga-Bungus 22h ago
Build around it. You're bringing a primary that can close holes, and deal with light targets. Bring an hmg and an ammo back pack. Bring a bullet storm and eats. Bring a recoilless and a talon or verdict. Just cause my primary has a low ammo count doesn't mean I don't have ammo for the other two guns in my kit. Prior planning and all that piss.

Ah yes, bring a bad assault rifle then bring a better assault rifle by using the bullet storm. You could bring the evicter and bullet storm to skip the onetwo entirely. Its a gun that relies on the supply pack, tell me why I can hold 21 spare mags with the spray n pray but the onetwo gets 5.
The low ergo as big a deal to me but the shit ammo economy as a balancing stick sucks. You can shoot laser weapons all day but bullets just feel bad to use unless you have thousands of them
2
u/Bring_Back_Challenge 17h ago
If anyone says they run out of ammo at this point they are just piss poor at playing the game, even without bringing the Supply Pack or FRV you should never run out with Resupply and the absurd amount of supplies littered around the map.

u/Pirate_Leader 1d ago
I agree, most of the complain i see come off as mostly very juvenile, mis-interpretate for agenda or platant lying.
I play every day, 500 hours now, i have none of the issue that get overblown on the internet or find it impossible to enjoy the game. But that is my view of the subject.

u/Beginning_Boot_350 21h ago
Same here with 600 hours. Ragdolling is the ONLY one I can see however, but I don't really care for the rest
14
u/xR_Sensei 21h ago
You didn’t really prove anything except for on ragdoll. The other 3 are things that only give more customization. Tbh I’ve never understood AH and their defenders obsession with balance. It’s a PVE game. If something is OP and you want more challenge then don’t use it. If mech customization leads to op mech combos, who tf cares. I paid $40 for this game not the bots and bugs. The devs balance this game as if the NPCs are gonna refund it if it’s unfair. For the CBT craving divers who want the game to be super hard, don’t use META stuff to make it easier for yourself.
-4
u/Sea-Contract7974 21h ago
Pve doesn't need balance is dumb if you want to feel op then lower the difficulty
10
u/xR_Sensei 20h ago
I didn’t mean to say balance is completely unnecessary, but if it’s getting in the way of player freedom it’s a problem.

u/Ok_Bathroom3684 21h ago
My whole issue with the weapon customisation is that the attachments arent fairly given to all weapons that could use em.
Like why no heatsinks for the sickle ? But a warbond one handed laser gun ? sure thing ?
That just seems a bit off to me. If your gonna use attachments give em out fairly to all weapons capable of using em.
Also i still Firmly believe that basic weapons with swappable attachments and warbond weapons with set attachments can both be in this game. That would make people happy who dont like spending money purely for an assault rifle with a nade launcher. Altho it being a basic design. And it makes people happy who like getting warbonds for that unique design theme per warbond
8
u/SushiJaguar 18h ago
Please stop using those bloody percentile pickrate images. They really aren't proving the point you think they are. If there were 100 primary weapons in the game the pickrate of perfectly equally used weapons would also be 1%.
Besides that, your post is just "I don't care about this and don't really want this so I must be right". Can we stop making these counter-whine threads?
7
u/Dauntlesso 23h ago
The grunt fantasy will never happen in a game like Helldivers; The people yearn for upgrades, customization, fun and fairness for this game they already paid for ($40 minimum). And yet, that’s a hot take or an idiotic idea to have. This is why we don’t have nice things, especially for free.
6
u/WaywardOath 21h ago
I think it’s worth clarifying, they never said Mech Customization was off the table. They’re just said they were wary of implementing it because of people getting mad at ‘losing rewards they already got’, of which there’s a very easy solution to get around.
Also as for the One-Two, this is sort of ignoring the actual point of the post. Historically people wanted weapon customization to be involved with meaningful decisions. Arrowhead said they’d consider it, and then added the One-Two, which sort of softly confirmed that underbarrel attachments like Grenade Launchers would never be a customization option—they’d only be variant weapons that are “basically the Liberator but worse Ergo and an underbarrel”.
I think the original post is bad faith, and I certainly am not saying this as an “Arrowhead bad”, but I also think you’re mischaracterizing what was actually said to support your argument. These are searchable things Arrowhead said, it’s easy to cite them without paraphrasing and making the end takeaway different.

I hate to be that guy but all of your arguments are literally just saying that Arrowhead refuses to do it.
5
u/Hoibot 20h ago
Arrowhead could do a lot better in terms of weapon customization and sell just as many super credits. Just imagine if buying the One-Two unlocked the grenade launcher attachment for all weapons with picotini rail. They could do this with the Sai's lenzes too for all laser weapons or even mech parts if they ever allow mech customization.
1
u/Sea-Contract7974 20h ago
I don't think that's possible to added that much attachment, under barrel weapon are unique to those weapon and clearly have downside that having low ergo, it will be really hard to balance to other gun, if the liberator can have the grenade launcher attachment will you even use the One-Two? that's why two guns need some unique features
the reason weapon don't have much attachment because helldivers weapon are not modular and isn't designed to have that much thing to customize, most of the gun are fix stock and bullpup. If they want to added more attachments it will mostly be padded on stock, extended mag, quick change mag, a few different muzzle and grip that slightly changed the stats and more different scope, maybe side scope too
the only under barrel weapon that they can add I think mostly will be bayonet or other under barrel weapons will be nerf or weaker version for it to keep the WB weapon special, like silencer are 50% louder, grenade launcher have less grenade or flamethrower have less fuel kinda like that
4
u/Harlemwolf 23h ago
I think the crux of the problem is that the game is likable and you kinda want it to be more than the simple casual game it is.
People fixate on their wants and not on what is.
This game most probably will not change in any meaningful way so if someone is hanging their hopes on that...better just to play something else I guess?

Tho "rock solid" is bullshit take, everything else is valid take. Menavile your justification:
Grenade launcher would be bad attachment (bc low ergo) means, this game doesn't need attachments.
We also have undrebarrel flamethrower and shotgun and they are fine, no ergo issuses, it's one-two only, and we can't do anything with that, bc it's not attachment.
AH confirmed no mech customization (bc reasons)
Cool, AH confirmed they don't want listen to their playerbase
there was no mech customization in HD1
It's not some kinda remake, it's two separate games!
I bet people will use only meta arm cannons, autocanon+AT canon
Like there is no way to balance them, for example decreasing total ammo supply for every attached arm (bigger gun, less ammo for both guns).
new warbond can be test for camo change
Why they don't say it out loud then? Stop coming up with excuses for them.
Upd. My point is this: AH isn’t an "evil corporation," but it is a company that makes some very strange and questionable moves.

1) I actually used Rocksteady pretty religiously when it dropped and I'm not a melee person. That being said I don't agree that it was a sold solution. It was a play style fork for the people who really want to melee.
Ragdoll will always be contentious but required to actually inconvenience helldivers from their massive power budget.
2) One Two is one of my mates favorite weapons. The ergo does not bother him. Further more people will use low ergo weapons all the time if they think the pay off is worth it.
Like the Eruptor. Your argument about deep customization sucks by the way. The devs added the system for a reason and there's very clearly a demand for meaningfully impactful attachment choices. Given how much people like the heat sink mag options on laser weapons and the focus lens on the SAI is being praised.
The customization doesn't need to be as expensive as COD weapon smith. But it deserves to be better instead of being abandoned. There's nuance.
3) I don't personally think mech customization needs to happen but you don't give a good argument against it.
4) Previous CEO said that. The devs have already gone back on statements before. Like no aura buff for the flag. The argument was never a good one to begin with and I think the fact that the devs are willing to depart from the standard helldiver aesthetic to sell fantasies there's no argument to say it can't happen.
They can choose not to and that's whatever. But logistically speaking we already run around in clown suits and have done multiple collabs. Armor doesn't make grounded sense. HD2 has more or less abandoned the game that was more focused on sim and is far more a power fantasy horde shooter now.

Bro thinks he is him but he’s just a karma farmer
Atrocious take, atrocious wording, proved nothing other than the fact you either don’t understand the game or simply are too blind to see how the warbonds were strategically aligned to solve long standing problems. If you really look at it, every warbond is a small band aid fix to a problem which adds up across multiple of them, looking like the game’s QoL & milsim properties look “fixed” and “designed” well. It’s a a very smart developer move from a dev perspective, but the player perspective is completely different for reasons you obviously don’t understand.
Warbonds should be gameplay variety and cosmetic, not weird ass balance patches disguised as new content, delete this post while you still can it’s insanely embarrassing
Replying would be a detriment to your thought processing capabilities

u/DodoJurajski 23h ago
Like I would love more weapon attachments, that underbarrel GL is too much to be attachment, I would love to see different grenade types for it, or having gas/smoke option for underbarrel flamethrower.

I’m inclined to agree on everything but the armour, I find the whole concept of denying us the freedom of basic character customisation with some excuse as it violates the lore or image of the game they have is just so butt. It’s not a tall order for transmog, there isn’t a huge amount of armour sets either, and they gave it to the primary’s already, feel like they could listen to the community on transmog
2
u/Iateyoface9d7 20h ago
I don't think it's outlandish that when a community repeatedly mentions ragdoll being annoying and too prevalent then the devs make a new armor that may reduce ragdoll sometimes - it becomes a sore point ESPECIALLY when that bandaid is monetized
The community has been begging for another pass on weapon customization - either adding secondary or the ceasing of "Well, you wanted supressors - so here's a DIFFERENT gun with a suppressor built in" or "Underbarrel? Get the Liberator Thumper in the new warbond that feels like dogwater and is a worse AR than the standard Lib." You HAVE to be ignoring a ton of people to not see the problem with this, including prominent YouTubers and community members whom you may not agree with - but may have been or are still AH's "Propaganda Commanders"
Mech customization was a smaller thing since HD1 had different variants to choose from for exosuits. The ideal solution (for me at least) was to have the Emancipator and Patriot be two different platforms - one having two of the same gun and the other being 1 and 1 of two seperate ones. Then the CGW stuff was bubbling up and Exo Experts got announced - it doesn't matter if HD1 had the feature as people want it in HD2 or not: selling more, different mechs as part of a battlepass for a paid game (which features no 'catch-up' for new players like Warbond bundles, price reductions, etc.) is in hilariously bad taste
Customization is the endgame of ANY game. Period. FashionSouls. FashionFrame. You name it. Again, prominent voices have asked for a better system that isn't 5 different shades of off-white for helmets that don't match. Armor shaders or palletes like Destiny or even Halo Infinite. Armor coloring like Halo or Warframe. As far as a more prominent customization feature is concerned, what they get is a monetized warbond set of 2 (maybe 3 with the superstore) armors that will visually change depending on the biome. I love MGS4's octocamo, but this is ridiculous. THIS should supplement a fashion system, like I can already color my helldiver blue and black - but with this armor set, I can blend in in real time.
Of course the recent modding discourse has at least tried to tackle these problems. Balance mods aside, purely cosmetic things like a functional transmog system or even just matching armor to your helmet color, armor color, or cape color is SUCH a gamechanger. AI vibecode or not, why have these features not even considered when they are possible within the engine?
You cannot claim to see these problems laid out by people, eloquently or not, and pretend that they're outrageous - especially when these people bought the same game you did amd have seen it change. A lot of people guzzled whatever AH put out year 1 because they were putting AAA to shame. They had the good FOMO like capes and that was it. HD2 was "Woe, 500kg upon ye" and "Remember the Creek! Spill oil!". Now it's a community eating itself alive with snark and midwit speak.

Nice to see that there are people out there that do understand this and don't need to complain 24/7 about everything, I'm tired of all the unneeded hate Helldivers 2 and some other games get for literally nothing
Let alone the constant "if it doesn't change the Meta it is a bad weapon" attitude, who cares if it isn't Meta if it can be fun?

Either way you're just stirring the pot and patting yourself on the back for it.

A lot of "you misunderstood", "they never denied", "they still could", "they learned their mistakes" talk. Heard it. Nah.
People been asking for armor customize since the first days - all we get is a paid limited joke on that 2 years after, while people with fuckass AI of all things demostrate that it can and is being done. Same exact thing with mechs. I see no excuse for them that don't cross over to bootlicking. Which is what I'm seeing on this post here.

u/Drago1490 21h ago
I both love and hate all the comments about the new warbond "selling us armor customization". Its prrof that a lot of the whinedivers either cant read, dont want to read, or both. You dont get to choose the armor color with the adaptive camo, you get to choose what planet you dive on. I've kindof just learned to tune out a lot of the negative "backlash" anymore, and just enjoy one of my all time most played and favorite games.
Anyway, I'm very impatiently awaiting until I can play Super Sniper Elite: Galactic War 2. I'd say see you on the battlefield, but that would imply that you'd be able to find me to begin with!

Yep. I don't mind people having criticism or opinions that differ. That's all good and needed. What I do mind is people refusing to accept that yes, current game condition is good. Helldiver 2, as is, without mods and "fixes" is a great game. That a lot of people have a ton of fun with. Including with some things they think are "bad" and "jank". Or that Arrowhead are somehow against players and "fun". Evil and all.
The game improved a lot since launch, a ton of things players have requested have been added. Yes, some as warbonds, oh horror.
It's not perfect, it has issues to work on, but it is objectively not: "unfun", "dying", "unplayable/unenjoyable without mods", or other exaggerated shit.

u/ShavedSavage 21h ago
Guys… I enjoy playing helldivers… I’m sorry. I don’t hate arrowhead. Do I think that all new content for the most part is in warbonds? Yes. Does it bother me that much, not really. Is it really pay to win when the game is a coop horde shooter where you work as a team? It’s okay that you disagree, it’s all subjective.
I mostly play with friends on a discord call so I don’t really get to experience the more toxic side of the player base, so I think I’m just having more fun in general.
Also I like the IFV. It’s okay that you don’t. We are all helldivers here and it’s okay to have different opinions, except on democracy.
1
u/WiseBlizzard 20h ago
I cant help but feel like on the picture when instead of fixing LONG lasting game-changing bugs all they do is fucking conveyor assemble warbonds. dont get me wrong, warbonds are cool and all, I like them. but this game requires QoL fixes VERY BAD. I dont care much for new features, I never whine for them. just make the game fucking playable, please.
1
u/No-Audience-1384 20h ago
I’m kinda fine with no customization. Not that I’m defending Arrowhead but I can sorta tolerate it. Even though it would be nice to have, I can see why the devs don’t want to add it. What I won’t forgive them for is the fact that they will never add Transmog for some reason.
Why not? Now there are more incentive for people to buy the armors that have not-meta passives but are cool looking. That’s more money for the devs, and the players get to use their favorite armor with the passives that they want to use.
1
u/Servant-of-freedom 20h ago
While i agree these statements are mostly just hate, i would love to be able to add attachments to weapons, and choose which attachment thats is. That being said i wouldnt mind if they make special customization warbonds where we unlock these attachments. Ragdoll i 100% agree with you, and while i wouldnt mind mech custom warbonds as well allowing to customize our mechs but that shouldnt be the focus.
1
u/Sea-Contract7974 20h ago
there will be but not much customization like you think because most of the weapon are bullpup, fix stock and isn't modular like gun in other game, if they want to added more attachments it will mostly be padded on stock, extended mag, quick change mag, a few different muzzle and grip that slightly changed the stats and more different scope
under barrel weapon are unique so I don't think they will added it to other weapon maybe bayonet are the exception
basically like pubg customization
1
u/Servant-of-freedom 20h ago
I dont need it on all weapons, i wouldnt mind if they only make them for new weapons either, it'd be fun to choose the type of grenade the underbarrel shoots or what kind of underbarrel... anyways this is just stuff i want the game is fine in the direction its going in my opinion. Definitely a lot of room for improvements in terms of MOs, galactic map, new missions and game modes within those missions, the game is good tho, loving it as it is.
1
u/Sea-Contract7974 20h ago
either that or the under barrel weapon on other weapon are the weaker version like silencer are 50% louder than the censor, the grenade launcher and flamethrower under barrel will have less ammo
it's balance while still keep the original weapon in WB relevant
1
u/Servant-of-freedom 19h ago
Of course, we wouldnt want the primaries we already have to be useless in comparison, attachements should always come with a downside besides the ergo. I would also like more weapons that are outside of the box, so much potential and so much to be inspired by, i would lovee a trap gun, where the mag has like 3 shots and the three will connect creating trip wires or electric wires or whatever (could be attachments) similar to horizon zero dawn, could attach the strong wires against big enemies, or electric wires against small ones. Or a shotgun similar to the plasma, that can just leave a pool of lava or acid or whatever. There's so much potential for this game it could be in a really great place in a few years with more systems in place and more vehicles like motorcycles or duo vehicles. Would like to see some kind of flying vehicles but that could make the game too easy unless we only get them on specific missions or they have a serious downside like running out of fuel or something
1
u/SCP_Steiner 19h ago
Why would anyone be using rock steady for melee when viper commando already existed?
1
u/kagalibros 19h ago
The one-two is not a weapon attachment. It’s a package deal which also exists in real life.
The big reason why no one uses it is because its not decent as an AR and not decent as a GL. But being a jack of all trades can be good so why is no one using it?
BECAUSE ARROWHEAD CAN’T PUT A REAL BLOODY HOTKEY INTO THIS DAMN GAME!!!
No, not a toggle. A hotkey. Do you know how to use a GL attached AR in real life? There is almost no down time between using the AR and the GL with the only delay being your recoil control.
In this game for some god forsaken reason you need to switch for mode and then fire? Because we ran out of keys on the keyboard to press i guess???
Now it would be another thing if the 1-2 was 50-50 AR to GL themed but it clearly isn’t. It’s mostly AR and a bit of GL.
It almost doesn’t matter how well balanced this weapon is because it’s a pain to use.

u/Saphyr-Seraph 18h ago
To add to your point they already decided what they will add next year, we just don't know it yet.
And as a nice bonus all the warbonds are available for free anybody who says they are beinghidden behind a paywall, is delusional just because you don't have the time play the game and get your stuff regularly.
I'm not sure where the idea comes from that a game developer needs to give you shit for just existing, you should work in-game to research\unlock stuff it is just that people are fed up with not getting it gifted to them just for being there.

u/Neo-Naga99 18h ago
I love how this isn't actually a rebuttal and all you do is say "you don't use X or Y despite asking for it and if things were different you wouldn't use it either" which proves their point.
I'm one of those very few One-Two fanatics and the reason ppl don't use it beyond the shit ergo is that it's a god damn pea shooter and it's actually hard to do anything with it unless you force it, which is fine in theory you can just run your support and use the one two as a second side pistol but hey

u/SOUP1981 17h ago
This is why I only play with my friends and not the community. That shit’s toxic enough to make big company environmental polluters wrinkle their noses.
1
u/SuitFive 17h ago
Bro nobody uses the one-two because it sucked ass on release and that made everyone not like it. Also, it's disingenuous to assert that ergo is the only reason nobody would want the underbarrel grenades on any other gun. I would love the one-two launcher on my Scythe or Sai. Ergo be damned, that utility would be awesome. It's basically another gun in exchange probably for ergo and ammo max. Totally fair trade, still totally worth it.
The mech customization has been asked for for a while. If you haven't been paying attention, that's on you not us. The cars got taken out of warbonds because we collectively told arrowhead the mechs warbond pissed us off. Don't be a bootlicker. You paid real money for the damn game. It should be good. Same argument for the armor. Customization is good. Saying customization wont work and then customizing shit in painfully limited ways and handing it out like presets like "this is what yall wanted right?" Is insulting.
Unfortunately I cannot comment on the ragdoll. I play illuminate primarily and do not see the issues over there. Someone else can address this.

u/OPPORTUNLST 1d ago
Is ergo really that useful?
1
u/unzips_katana 1d ago
It depends on the weapon. On the eruptor I don't really care about the ergonomics. On the new Arbitrator AR or the Hyena marksman it feels genuinely horrible to have low ergonomics. On the Anti-material rifle it's manageable, but it feels nicer to have armor that improves it. With the maxigun on bugs I always bring peak physique because being able to turn and engage fast targets is important. On squids and bots, I prefer engineering kit to manage the recoil for more accurate fire. And so on.

u/Sea-Contract7974 23h ago
it's mech and transmog (mean change the armor passive) but the dev haven't said anything about not adding color customization
2
1
u/Iateyoface9d7 19h ago
Not to nitpick, but when most people say "Transmog" they mean it in a WoW, Diablo, or Monster Hunter way in the sense that you just visually wear different armor than what's underneath. IE: Using the medium Seige Ready armor that you're really wearing but appearing to be using the Truth Enforcer light. It isn't plopping the passive off and putting it on another
1
u/Sea-Contract7974 19h ago
that's what I said "change the passive" not mixing passive
1
u/Iateyoface9d7 18h ago
That isn't changing the passive. It's using one armor and visually wearing another. Different armors do have different stats - some have inbetweens of values and not just the standard light, med, and heavy average values for health, speed, etc.

u/The-Nuisance 1d ago
I feel a lot of people who ask for in-depth mech and weapon customization are too set in “modern” customization systems like Fallout and COD.
Our guns are not modular. That was never their purpose. They are individual weapons so they can be individually balanced and have a unique identity each on their own. Arrowhead chose to make single weapons with their own unique personalities rather than give us so much freedom it’d invalidate those weapons, while finding a comfy middle ground in letting you customize and add different patterns to them. You can customize the guns, you cannot change what they are.
And yeah, they show up in warbonds a lot of the time because it keeps the studio running. They’re doing a live service, so it goes, it’s still an overly consumer friendly system when you actually engage with it instead of fearmongering about it. You can have criticisms, that’s fine, but it’s disingenuous to act like they’re a manifestation of all which is evil because they put a gun with a masterkey in a warbond. Just take the punisher dude. It’s fine.

u/Justifier925 23h ago
Ragdoll: good points, no notes
The 1-2 debate: people will take sights (long distance shooting) or flashlight attachments (for old bug caves) if it helps, but overall it’s just better to be able to aim faster. GL attachment would add a meaningful tradeoff in comparison because of extra utility.
Mech customisation: same argument could be made for weapons
Transmog: true
Recolours: file digging has proven that there was already a system to change armour colours a long while back, but I think the main issue was that there’s so many shades of the same colours that do not match or work well, and that these armours are being sold for $5 a pop and they can’t be bothered to shade match

The “controversy” around war bonds is so stupid. God forbid a company wants to be paid for content they make, how dare they? Effort and time are not free the game’s initial buy in does not cover the time spent creating new content every month. The idea that you as the consumer are entitled to an endless stream of content after 1 purchase is crazy, that is not a sustainable business model. It would be different if this was a non-live service game, if I had to pay for customization in say Elden Ring for example I would be pissed. But Helldivers Two is live service whether people like it or not and as such needs to have a steady flow of money like LITERALLY EVERY SINGLE OTHER LIVE SERVICE GAME. Hell this game does it even better than most due to the fact YOU CAN FARM THE CURRENCY BY PLAYING THE DAMN GAME. Of course it would be great to receive customization updates for free (like they did with the guns) but that is a dev choice to essentially take a loss on time spent developing non-monetized content.

u/Sea-Contract7974 21h ago
I will bet everything that if every battlepass work like WB that: never increases price, never gone, the price outside like 10$ and premium currency can easily get in game, micro transaction are actually micro. Then the battlepass reputation will increase significantly and not get that much hate like today

The elephant needs to be addressed:
It’s a game. Play it if you enjoy it, don’t if you don’t. Throw money at it if you want, or don’t. We’re not here forever so what little down time you have should be enjoyable rather than infuriating.
My friends will piss in my Cheerios because I use the Halo war bond exclusively. Don’t care! I’m having fun flopping around the map as an ODST with a cape. You do you, bro. Just keep your blood pressure stable xD

Still a great thing to have the ODST in our ranks. And for that I thank you, diver.

Oh, silence goes best with biggest boom. Solo silo from halfway across map with supply pack for smokes.

I don't think color customize will be implement since it will make coming armor passive that change color a joke. They might add some color customize auto in armor passive again but not that dircet change to all of them

“Just buy the war bonds that are hashed out by 3rd parties and don’t criticize Arrowhead. “

Plenty are made in house. We know this because we have seen literal parts of future warbonds developed months in advance (Sai was literally made last year).

tldr 'anti ragdoll armor is not used for ragdoll that often, a few ragdolls got nerfed this one time, underbarrel weapons are shitty anyway so who cares, fuck deep weapon customisation, fuck mech customisation, also ah already said mech customisation + transmog is not allowed ):<'
you didn't prove anything half of this is raw opinion

If ever I was a company notoriously known for dubious practices and an incredibly lazy dev cycle, I’d want you to be our frontline defense.

The fact that arrowhead implemented bad things, answering our demands (In their own way) doesn't means that original statement wrong, what are you talking about?
