My hammy Bounty is about 4 months old. He has been destructive and rips his sprays and enrichment apart π
. but recently has started biting the edge of his wheel.
at the moment there's no sharp edges or anything that will flake off when I touch it, but it's definitely more of a rough texture where he's bitten it.
I've considered getting a wooden wheel but he would only bite that too. and while ingesting wood is better than plastic, he pees on his wheel every night and I worry it would make the wood smell a lot.
he has lots of sprays, whimzees, a stuffed lotus pod, etc all in close proximity to his wheel. he also digs his tunnels happily and rips other things apart such as his cork mats and sea grass bits. any advice on how to prevent him biting the plastic though?
