In 2004, he released his first solo album, Ai no Wakusei (æăźææ, Planet of Love). The album leaned into his own darker sensibilities and had some goth influence, and the lead single, "Sacrifice," was composed by Wayne Hussey of Sisters of Mercy.
Atsushi's solo live tour directly inspired Buck-Tick guitarist Hisashi Imai to go in a decadent, gothic direction for the 2005 Buck-Tick album, Juusankai wa Gekkou (ćäžéăŻæć , The Thirteenth Floor is Moonlight), which Atsushi in turn found easy to write for since he had strong interest in gothic themes and goth music.
I'd like to share some of his music today to remember him. He is greatly missed.

Hello! I'm a baby bat and was wondering where I'd be able to meet more goth people? I'm pretty new to the culture but I'd love to be around more people and learn more! I'm from NYC, however i just recently moved here so I still don't really know where to go both here and in general.
Any help at all would be appreciated!

This has been confirmed by the other sources on the Internet, so I feel this can be reposted. I've been obsessed with Collection d'Arnell-Andréa for these past 2 weeks and even posted a song of theirs here on r/goth. She was an extremely talented singer. I urge everyone to check out this band if you're into eclectic goth (they indeed have goth/post-punk elements, which is rare in neoclassical darkwave) music with classical themes.

I found the song as a Tik Tok sound. It claims to be by an artist named Alex The Alchemist but Alex seems to be a rapper. Iâm hoping it was mislabeled on TikTok and someone here can help me find the artist
Looking for music thatâs like Faith (both the album and song, especially the song) by The Cure. Canât think of many other similar albums, but REDUCER by Casket Cassette comes to mind.
Some songs that have what Iâm looking for:

I am a goth since adolescence, i'll sound older than I am by saying this but back in my days, what I most desired was that goth, and other subcultures would begin to be more popular, because in my innocent mind I thought the more popularized something gets, the more respect it gains, I was deeply wrong and I regret this yearn. Since the chronic 2000's anemoia my generation has been suffering from due to the emo revival in mid 2022, the more every mainstream subculture (Keep that up) gets distorted by individuals who only want to look unique and different, chase trends.
Now, I am not a filthy gatekeeper, I despise any kind of this, I always tried to inform other people with politeness about such topics I am interested in and learn about it more and more as i'm still not informed enough, but some of these people do not want to learn, they think they know everything about goth and others just by watching short, brief Tik Tok videos. If you disagree with the so called "Vampire of the night" or any shit like that, you get bullied, mocked, treated like shit. Thats not what a so called anti-conformist should do, now should they? I am not perfect either, I am a moderate Tik Tok user like most teenagers of our lord 2026, but it has become impossible to interact with such people of my age inside the community.
Notice how they always base their entire personality in being alt, nuffin elz. But wait! Only mainstream shit like i mentioned before, there's not rude boys, no skinheads, no flappers, no ravers... And the answer for this is pretty obvious, because they dont take research on anywhere else that isnt Tik Tok. Their knowledge about alt ends when their phone battery ends too. If they think the same, talk the same, write the same, dress the same, and only listen to the same 3 popular songs of The Cure and Bauhaus and still have the sicking balls to mock and exclude, dont feel inferior to them. As one of the mods of this subreddit said some posts ago, do not listen to Tik Tok kids.
Dammit I'm late this week so no fanfare or BS let's get straight to the moaning and fuming.

What happened this week that made you happy?
Maybe you found a great new album or just an album you hadn't heard about before? Maybe you found a new cuddly kitten that now is a part of your family?
Share it with us!

This post isn't blaming anyone, I just wrote it to put the bigot infiltration into perspective so that we can prevent it from getting worse now.
Please read before commenting and listen to the experiences of the people directly affected/concerned by these situations. Listening and understanding are the ingredients to create safe spaces, so please refrain from calling bigots "fake goths", because:
That being said, I have never seen anyone talk about this and I think we are at a great moment to do some retrospection.
MAGA goths are a thing now, but the subculture has been infiltrated and INFLUENCED by white supremacists over the decades, and I refer to honest to god nazis.
"Parfrey was co-editing the art magazine EXIT with George Petros. (Petros would go on to co-edit the 1990s music magazine Seconds, and become a contributing editor at the art magazine Juxtapoz and senior editor at the goth magazine Propaganda.)"
EXIT was a nazi magazine and I am not linking it here to not make it available, but is incredibly easy to find online. Also, it is super easy to find nazi symbols in Propaganda magazine, like the Combat 18 logo (a Totenkopf) on the covers, which looks worse with this context.
I know that the awful iconography was pretty trendy in alternative circles as a shock marketing strategy, but hiring people with a history of working in explicitly racist media is at the very least suspicious. Not to mention how this kind of "satire" makes any non white person feel really unsafe in alternative spaces.
None of this is new
