Giveaway Weekly Code Giveaway Thread

Every month, we see several posts offering GOG game codes and discount codes that people do not intend to use themselves. To make this easier and more organized, we ask that you share your code(s) as top-level comments on this post.

Ex:

Game code giveaway for Game Name:

YEC8U25J3A**FEF0C3

** = 32-15

Or

Discount code giveaway for Game Name:

YEC8U25J3A**FEF0C3

** = 32-15

To be extra sure your code goes to a fellow GOG gamer and not a bot, list the game(s) you have keys for and ask Redditors to DM you to claim them. In this case, please make it very clear whether your codes are game codes or discount codes.

You're also welcome to use RedditRaffler or KeyShare.

Please follow these guidelines:

  • Do leave a comment when you claim a code so others know it is no longer available.
  • Don't post plain codes, as bots will most likely claim them for resale rather than fellow GOG gamers.
  • Don't add a discussion in a top-level comment. Respond to an existing code or use the pinned moderator comment.

Recommendation I encourage people to, whenever possible, hold out for GOG (or just DRM-free installer) releases of single-player games.

• Upvotes

(Note: I made a post with this suggestion a while back, but new people might see this and a reminder doesn't hurt.)

It's far from guaranteed to work, and I understand life is short, but the more people who are willing to hold off buying on Steam and wait for what they want (such as a GOG release, or DRM-free installer on another store like Zoom-Platform or Fire Flower Games), the more likely a dev or publisher (especially a smaller one, who might find the money from GOG meaningful) is to release on GOG or another digital store I mentioned.

Of course, there are various big-name devs and publishers who don't care about GOG's little amount of money (compared to Steam) or dislike DRM-free. It'd certainly be nice if enough people held off buying until there was a GOG release, and I do encourage that, but I also understand the unlikeliness of changing those devs' or publishers' minds. So I understand not waiting, in some cases.

Also, I specifically mentioned single-player because online multiplayer seems to be a sticking point for GOG releases. Not many devs seem to want to spend the time porting to Galaxy, presumably again because GOG's userbase is so much smaller than Steam. (I assume shared / split-screen multiplayer is fine.)

Ever since I saw this video, I took inspiration from their design and made my own from it. I'm kind of addicted to making my own physical games now. lol.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HWElimyy0rs

Here are some basic templates I made for the 1,2 disc, 3 disc, and 4 disc versions of the inserts for the clear Scanavo Criterion boxes. I did leave a screenshot of what I used as reference to create my own elements. This will at least make printing easier with bleeds already in mind.

Question Is this normal?

Paid for Fallout:NV today a few hours ago and the game hasn't been added to my account, no orders show up in my history as well, but I have been charged for it, is this normal because of the servers failing or am I screwed? This page has been showing up for the past 5h or so, and the payment provider's window shows as expired (paid through PIX), I've contacted support and so far nothing.

Discussion I’ve been making my own empty discs for GOG installers. Any feedback?

Thumbnail

If the response is good I may run a small Kickstarter later so people can order blank packs.

No game files would be included. People would burn their own (hopefully) legally owned GOG installers at home. Labels would be custom (people supply their own artwork).

Curious what people think of the physical side (disc quality, labeling, case design) and whether others would actually want something like this.

edit: I see some mention that Kickstarter might not be appropriate and that I should just open an online shop. I see that point, but I do need funding to cover initial start-up costs. I'm hoping to secure an expensive, production-quality thermal printer so these discs are identical to professional, console-quality release, something that's hard to achieve with standard home equipment.

edit 2: Seems like this project is not quite legal in it's current form. I gotta change the approach to licensed products but I'm not sure how interested publishers might be. drop your suggestions below if you got any.

Game Announcement Own Tzar on GOG? Here's a free remake that runs it natively on Windows 10/11

Post image
66 Upvotes

ReTzar is a free, open-source remake of Tzar: The Burden of the Crown, rebuilt from scratch with the original rules. It runs natively on modern Windows, crisp up to 4K, with no compatibility settings.

Unzip it, run ReTzar.exe and choose your GOG Tzar folder (Galaxy: Manage installation -> Show folder). That's it.

It also includes the Excalibur and Genghis Khan campaigns, in seven languages.

https://github.com/ColCarlo/ReTzar

Built with help from Claude Code. Single-player only.

Recommendation Looking for Motocross Madness 3? Or Monster Truck Madness 3? Try MX Vs ATV Unleashed

Thumbnail

For those who experienced the Microsoft game publishing boom in the late 90s and early 00s remember how many great games they released.

Including the Madness games, which had three distinct series - Monster Truck Madness, Motocross Madness and Midtown Madness.

MX Vs ATV Unleashed gives you a spiritual follow-up to Motocross Madness and Monster Truck Madness on GOG, DRM free and is more closely related to those games than you think.

Why? Because Rainbow Studios developed Motocross Madness and MX Vs ATV, and Unleashed was the first time they released any of their games on Windows again, with Motocross Madness 2 being their last PC game and having made a career of developing console extreme sports titles.

Anyone who played those older games will feel at home with this. Firstly, if you go out of bounds, you get that classic cannon sound effect and the sight of your vehicle being flung across the map.

As the kids say these days, pure cinema.

On top of that, you have multiple event types and vehicle classes, set in an open area where you pick the levels you want to do. There are special events that feature all forms of off-road vehicles and even a plane.

This is where you find the monster trucks.

Once all the vehicles are unlocked, either by playing the game or using a cheat code, you can use them in multiplayer and this is where the true carnage begins.

Want to race motorcycles against monster trucks? Go ahead.

Yes, future games have better graphics, but they slowly removed some of the content that you would get in the whole package.

There's even a track editor, which is something I have yet to try myself.

There's something special about MX Vs ATV Unleashed, and I hope you get to try it out to see why.

Support TES Oblivion Goty and Goty Deluxe not working on Steam Deck Oled through Unifideck

Hi everbody,

Few days ago I bought Oblivion Goty (have it on Steam but decided to support GoG). My only gaming device is Steam Deck Oled. Im using decky plugin Unifideck to sync my GoG library with the Deck and usually almost all of my games from GoG worked without a problem this way. Unfortunately with Oblivion (both version that I have in GoG right now) are not working. Basicaly when I click Play Im seeing black screen for the briff moment and then its coming back to the Deck menu with the error saying that game couldnt open. Do any of you know what to do? Changing proton to other version didnt work. And actually which version of the game I should install, Goty od Goty Deluxe?

Recommendation Remember to use the Dreamlist to vote for games you want to buy on GOG, especially for smaller indie titles.

https://www.gog.com/dreamlist

Now, there is certainly no guarantee a game will show up even if it has a high vote count, such as if the dev or publisher doesn't want to bother with GOG, or the legal situation is complex and/or murky. But it can convince some devs or publishers, especially smaller ones who find GOG's money valuable, and helps GOG know what games to pursue.

Edit: here are some threads if you're looking for ideas on what to vote on:

Discussion Could gog.com save *Condemned: Criminal Origins* following the removal of its PC version from Steam?

Thumbnail
gallery
254 Upvotes

Condemned: Criminal Origins was recently removed from Steam. I was saddened to hear this news, as there was no longer any way to obtain it legally. This reminded me of GOG, which specialises in preserving old PC games. If any GOG administrators happen to read this, I would be grateful if they could add Condemned: Criminal Origins to the store and preserve the PC version of the game. It’s a classic from 2005; the game stands out for its unsettling and terrifying plot, full of mystery: what is it that transforms the mind of an ordinary human being into that of a serial killer?

Assigned to the Serial Crimes Unit, Agent Ethan Thomas must answer this question and bring society’s worst elements to justice. His case clearance rate is the best in the agency… perhaps a little too good.

Whilst investigating the growing list of serial killers, Agent Thomas comes to the conclusion that something is warping the bodies and souls of those whom society has marginalised. The homeless, the addicts and the deranged are emerging from the city’s darkest corners and committing senseless acts of violence. Could there be a hidden link between the increasing brutality of the latest serial killings and the rising crime rate? This question takes on new significance after Agent Thomas is framed for the murder of two police officers. He must now solve the homicides to halt the wave of killings and clear his name of the crimes of which he is accused.

As FBI agent Ethan Thomas, you rely on your sharp instincts and sophisticated forensic tools to investigate crime scenes, collect evidence and find clues that will lead you to the killers. With danger lurking in every shadow, you’ll need every weapon you can find to stay alive. If you run out of bullets, you’ll have to fight with a fireman’s axe, a spade, a pipe, a piece of wood or anything else you can find around you. You must ensure that nothing stops you as you try to uncover exactly who… or what is behind the horrific murders that are plaguing the city.

Discussion [Oblivion] The community shouldn’t stay silent when GOG gets things wrong.

Obviously, I’m going to talk about the recent Oblivion update, because I believe it’s the worst update GOG has released to date, and it doesn’t give me much confidence in what the future holds.

https://www.gog.com/en/news/the_elder_scrolls_iv_oblivion_joins_the_gog_preservation_program_alongside_ghostwire_tokyo

Why?

1. They broke OBSE support.

GOG KNOWS how important Script Extenders are for Bethesda games. Yet they still broke compatibility. And good luck getting an OBSE update for the GOG version of Oblivion, considering that the game’s modding community is becoming increasingly inactive.

And yes, GOG knows the importance of Script Extenders for Bethesda games. So much so that they listed SKSE compatibility as a selling point on the Skyrim SE store page: https://www.gog.com/en/game/the_elder_scrolls_v_skyrim_special_edition

This is an important point to consider, because players hate updates that break mods. We’ve seen this very clearly with Skyrim SE and Fallout 4.

Furthermore, a developer working on xOBSE stated that updating it could prove difficult, as this update may have affected the game’s executable code: https://www.gog.com/forum/general/the_elder_scrolls_iv_oblivion_joins_the_gog_preservation_program_alongside_ghostwire_tokyo_31d82/page5

2. The controller support is a JOKE. Seriously.

There’s no need to list all the people who have reported that it simply doesn’t work. And even when it does work, its limitations are painfully obvious.

The button mappings are terrible, seemingly random, clumsy, and downright stupid. For example, LS is used to select things instead of A.
Recently, someone here posted a video defending GOG and demonstrating that the controller support “worked.”

However, the video only confirms how half-baked the implementation is. The sensitivity is atrocious, and as already mentioned, the button mappings are poorly designed, with no way to change them.
It’s worth noting that vanilla Oblivion on PC could already recognize a joystick and a trigger.

So yes, this so-called “controller support” is downright embarrassing.

To give you an idea of just how embarrassing this is, even a mod that’s nearly 10 years old, created by a solo programmer, added better controller support to Oblivion than GOG’s “official support”: https://www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/mods/48577

Why add half-baked controller support that performs worse than an existing mod?

According to some users, GOG misleadingly advertised its controller support in its promotional video by showing properly mapped buttons: https://www.reddit.com/r/gog/s/VakbeZ4x4A
But in reality, that’s simply not the case.

This update is amateurish work on GOG’s part, and I sincerely hope we won’t see a repeat of this.

I had already posted a review of this update, but I quickly deleted it because I didn’t want to be too harsh on GOG. However, I’ve come to realize that we shouldn’t stay silent about this. After all, what guarantee do we have that GOG will actually fix these issues?

EDIT: Despite everything, I think the best thing GOG could do for the community would be to at least keep the offline installers available so we can revert to the previous version.
