Glasses recommendations

Rimless or half rimmed? Any other recommendations are welcome. Still trying to find my daily go-tos.

I'm also considering Lasik, but unsure if the cosmetic benefits are worth the risk.

Any ideas on vooglam?

Ive been seeing their ads non stop for a while and honestly I am super into some the styles!

I really want to buy them but I haven't seen any newer reviews about them except years ago. I wonder if they have gotten better or worse?

I was hoping to get the single prescription with the sun glasses option not the name brand... I dont want to waist my money as I cant afford to buy if I get a bad pair so Im just really curious!

Idk if this matters but I saw older reviews about how the higher the prescription the more warped? My prescription is -2 and my eyes have different prescriptions but close to that. Would that affect the lenses? And till when is the warping bad?

How do you find glasses that actually suit your face?

I've been wearing glasses for a while now, but I'm still not sure if the frames I picked are the best for my face. I've tried a few different styles, including oversized frames, but sometimes I feel like they look good in the mirror and then look completely different in photos. I've looked at a bunch of online try on tools, but they don't really help me decide. The proportions always seem a little off compared to how the glasses actually look in person. How did you guys figure out which frames suit you best?

Opinions on this frame?

I've been searching for ages for glasses that will fit my small face, and I had to look outside the UK to find these. They seem comfortable but I'm looking for opinions as they will be my first glasses. Should I stop searching and commit to getting these reglazed with my prescription? They will also have a light grey tint for my light sensitivity.

P.s. I know the pics are a bit extra but I was having fun 🤭

What are the best quality but stylish glasses on the market right now?

I have been on the hunt for a new pair of glasses but I want them to be special and ofc great quality. I feel like I’ve been playing the safe card for way too long in my life with only ever focusing on quality and refusing to go for a fancier frame but now I’m trying to find something that has both and I guess go a bit bolder. Any recommendations?

Switched to rimless eyeglasses after my glasses ruined my Halloween look last year

Post image

Does anyone else know the very specific pain of being super nearsightedand unable to wear contacts? My eyes are ridiculously sensitive, so colored contacts have never been an option for me.

Last Halloween, I spent forever on my eye makeup, only to cover half of it with my regular chunky frames. They didn’t go with the outfit at all, either. I kept taking them off for pictures, which meant I was basically smiling at a blurry shape and hoping it was the camera lol.

This year I started looking way earlier and found the silva glasses from lensalter. They’re rimless with spiderweb shaped lenses, and the best part is they could make them in my actual prescription. I tried them with my makeup this weekend, and for once my glasses don’t look like something I forgot to plan around. They look like they belong with the costume.

I’m stupidly excited for Halloween now. This might be the first year my glasses stay on in every photo. Fellow glasses wearers, please tell me I’m not the only one who has planned an entire look around their frames.

40 and just got my first pair of glasses. Need help.

Hello everyone.

I recently became nearsighted and found out I have astigmatism. I got my first pair of glasses and the myopia is improved, but I now see ghosting on high contrast letters and while the glasses have improved the astigmatism I am still seeing starburst effects and ghosting around lights. The starburst effect is especially prevalent in low light.

I have been wearing the glasses full time for 4 days now with no improvement. Am I just being impatient and my eyes and brain will adjust? Am I expecting too much from my first pair of glasses? I'm worried that either the optometrist got my prescription wrong or my glasses were manufactured wrong.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Cohen Optical

I bought progressive lens at Cohen’s. $ 1,200. I’ve tried to get used to them but it’s not possible. They told me they only give store credit. I don’t want another pair from them. Do I have any options ? Thank you

Do Not Order From GlassesUSA

placed an order on September 12th. September 25th i got a notification that my order was delayed. it would ship in 3 to 6 business days. October 4th another email that my order is delayed even more with no time frame just a "we will contact you"

I tried the live chat on the website, didnt open at all. tried calling, automated message saying that my order was delayed and that they would contact me with any updates.

october 8th I email them asking for an update. they replaying saying to call the customer service line about new orders.

I reply saying that isnt relevant to my issue. they replay saying they escalated the issue, they are giving me free expedited shipping, are flagging my order as a priority, and "real time monitoring" of the status of my order.

today october 19th I get the online chat to work. ask for an update, they say they will get back to me in 2-3 business days, while I am replying they disconnect me.

I open the live chat again and ask to cancel my order, they offer free expedited shipping, they already offered that. they offer a discount, I tell them no I just want my order canceled. they say it will be processed in 7-10 business days.

in the meantime they have been sitting on over 400 dollars of my money without providing a product or service.

terrible customer service that only placates with vague promises and zero actual information about what is going on with my order.

in contrast I have ordered from other companies that reach out to you when there is a problem with your order and offer you alternatives for things they do have in stock, lenses that will fit better in your frames, or frames that can better accommodate your lenses.

do not do business with GlassesUSA. a search of this subreddit will show you other similar stories of their poor business practices.

where to find glasses for mild prescription

hello everyone. i recently went to the optometrist for the first time in years and found out i am slightly farsighted. i was given a mild prescription of +0.50 and i mainly would be using them for computer/ screen use which i am constantly on due to my job in an office. i’m looking for suggestions on where to buy my glasses. i had been looking into warby parker and i really like some of their frames but have since read some not so great reviews on their lens quality. again i have a very mild prescription so im not sure if wp might still be a good option for me. pls help! i’m a first time glasses user too

Opposite issue of frames “looking too big”

My face is insanely wide (my PD is 71), and I’m honestly tired of not being able to find glasses that fit me. I always get the widest possible fit a brand offers, and they always end up looking stupid (the temples bow out). Please, please someone tell me a brand that specializes in extra-wide frames (Comfortably over 150mm total width).

Just got lenses fitted into this 1960s Victory Optical frame. Absolutely in love with the celluloid depth!

Hey everyone!

Finally picked up this vintage 1960s Victory Optical frame (50-22) and just had my prescription lenses put in.

The way the light hits the celluloid and reveals that subtle transparency is incredible in person. Pictures don't even do it justice! Also really dig the double-stepped chevron rivets on the front and temples.

Super stoked with how this turned out. What do you guys think?
