Xbox Are there any Stardew Valley-style game recommendations? It could be one with a cooking element, or something laid-back, or one that requires a lot of grinding over a long period of time.

Thanks for the answers

PC Single player games that are similar to WoW or FFXIV, that have no micro-transactions?

Without getting into it a game having a real money store is very dangerous for me and my bank account, but these type of MMOs are very satisfying for my brain because it helps my ADHD stay locked in on what I'm doing when I'm too out of it to focus on something that requires more brainpower, like Baldur's Gate 3. Sometimes being told to gather 10 bear butts is all I need to be happy.

However I am not an elite gamer by any means. For either of those games I either quest solo or I do regular dungeons, and I never play melee just ranged dps or healer because moving around is a struggle. Anything related to playing dress-up or housing is a big plus, as are collectible pets (used in combat or otherwise).

I play on a new Mac Air with 24GB of ram, and I have Crossover available. I've got a vented tray so it's fine getting a bit hot, but I don't need the most elite, state-of-the-art graphics! Older games are just fine.

Thank you for reading.

PC Is Foundation actually worth buying?

I really like the art style and graphics, but my biggest priorities are long-term replayability and how fun and varied the building is.

I’m looking for a game I can sink hundreds of hours into without getting bored, with plenty of freedom to build and develop my settlement in different ways.

For those who’ve played it for a while, do you think Foundation is worth it in the long run, or does it start to feel repetitive after a while?

Would love to hear your thoughts!

PC Manor Lords or Foundation

I’ve been looking into both Manor Lords and Foundation, and I’m curious which one you guys think is better.

My main priorities are how fun and satisfying the building aspect is, and how much replay value the game has. I’m looking for something I can sink hundreds of hours into without getting bored, rather than a game that gets old after a while.

Honestly, I don’t really mind that Manor Lords is still unfinished. I’m totally fine with waiting for more updates, as long as it has the potential to keep me hooked for the long run.

For those who’ve played both, which one would you recommend if I’m looking for a city builder I can keep coming back to for years?

Would love to hear your thoughts

PC Looking For Hack and Slash Looter

• Upvotes

I am looking for a video game centered around finding chests and random loot, and getting stronger from that. Where finding and opening chests to see if you got something good or not is extremely addictive. That is my main thing. I also want the game to have back and slash style combat. Or at least not turn based. Finally, although this is not a deal breaker, it would be nice if it was a side scroller. Side scroller feels easier for my brain to handle. I basically want a game to play to get a break from heavy open world games. I am looking for a game to kind of turn my brain off. Just drop in, fight enemies with a sword, and get a dopamine hit from collecting loot.

Are there any games like that?

PC What should be my Halloween game this year? Control, Alan Wake 2, RE Village, RE9?

• Upvotes

Alan Wake 2 is calling my name most because I adored the first, but I kinda like I should go back and finish Control first(which I have played a few hours of before and really liked, but I just wasn't in the right mood for it). And I feel like Control would still make a great game for the season even if it's not the one I'm wanting most.

Alternatively I've always loved Resident Evil, I bounced off Village the first time but I did the same with 7 and when I finally got some momentum I wound up loving it and I do want to play it, but 9 is more what I want from Resident Evil.

Mobile Games like Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes, but when as you upgrade your fighters their appearance changes. Ex: A game that has been shut down that I loved to play, The Walking Dead: Road to Survival

PC Anno 1800 or Foundation

I’ve been looking into both Anno 1800 and Foundation, and I’m curious which one you guys would recommend.

My main priorities are how fun and satisfying the city-building is, how much freedom I have to design my own cities, and, most importantly, how much replay value each game offers. I’m looking for something I can sink hundreds of hours into without getting bored, not a game that loses its appeal after a few weeks.

I want to be able to keep expanding my cities, experimenting with different layouts, and coming up with new building ideas for a long time.

For those who’ve played both, which one do you think has more long-term potential? Which game do you see yourself coming back to for years

Would love to hear your thoughts!
