r/Fresno - This is the place to post if you are either looking for a job or have a job and you are looking for an employee.
We hope that putting all the job requests and offers in the same place monthly will help people who are looking for and offering jobs have an easier time sorting though the more recent requests/offers.

My car’s been in the shop this week, so I’ve resorted to taking rideshares and it’s been a nightmare. i’ve taken a total of five rides so far and four of them have been just awful.
1.The first guy was chatty, but I didn’t mind. The small talk made the ride go faster. But towards the end of the ride, he got a little too comfortable and he kept going off on how. But towards the end of the ride, he got a little too comfortable and he kept going off about how "Ragheads never tip", it made the rest of the ride, unbelievably uncomfortable. He must’ve said the word about half a dozen times.
My second driver was either Middle Eastern or South Asian and he played the radio super loud. It sounded like a sermon with monk chanting in a different language and it was super loud.
my third driver was also south Asian or possibly Middle Eastern and while he didn’t play music, he had what looked like a little bowl of birdseed in the rear cupholder. It was giving off a scent that would’ve been pleasant if it had only been at 10% strength. But as it was, it felt like with every breath my sinuses were being in the nuts. I thought I was gonna pass out from the tiny little gasps for air I had to take.
this guy also played really fiery sermons but it was Evangelical Christian stuff in English. luckily by this point, I figured out to bring headphones.
so is this it? Or do I just have really bad luck?

At the Tower Theater. Small ticket sales as of 2 hrs before the show. Come on Fresno! Can’t we have anything nice?

Why would anyone want to retire here instead of the coast? Is that a serious thing? 😝
And, they aren’t mitigating for traffic, for the most part. The EIR says Friant road would need to be 12 lanes (and it can’t be). And Millerton Road, and the bridge on Road 206, and Road 206 will never be 4 lanes.
Good for Brian Pacheco for being the only one to vote No.
It has been standing there for almost two minutes now.
I am frozen in fear.
Send help.

Hi all!
I’m a longtime songwriter looking to record my music professionally for the first time. I’m extremely introverted and networking freaks me out, but I’ve been trying to push past that for the sake of my artistic endeavors.
I’ve come across “Maximum Media” but holy moly do they look expensive! And yes, you get what you pay for, I understand. I’m willing to pay for services, very much want to pay people for their expertise, and I am well under the poverty line. So maybe I’m just asking for something impossible.
I blend genres and don’t know how to label or pitch myself. But for the sake of simplicity, I’ll say acoustic / soft rock. I’m shite at mixing as well :(
Not trying to self promote, sharing in case knowing the sound better would help suggest a place: https://on.soundcloud.com/SLMDoFnVNYeOVqUODR

Huntington Lake in the evening light, on the descend from Kaiser Peak. Last photo from Sunday. With gasoline prices as they are, hiking is no longer free. But it’s still pretty affordable therapy. I hope y’all enjoying this weather.

I'm thinking about signing up for Chuze so I can take their workout classes. For those that have gone, what has your experience been? What classes have you taken? Was it beginner friendly? Intermediate? Advanced?
If not Chuze, arethere workout classes you would recommend?
I'm an retired athlete who plays recreational sports 1-2 times a week. Main goal is weight loss. Thanks in advanced!

From more cops and more surveillance cameras to forcing street food vendors into a single place, here’s what police say they’re doing to make the Tower District safer.
Not everyone thinks it's a good idea.

Milburn Overlook after being fenced off and appearing nearly complete for months, has finally reopened within the past week or two.
What was once mostly a parking lot is now a cute little area with benches, picnic tables, view finders, and native plants. There are also several information boards on the wildlife and history of the San Joaquin River. Car Parking is on the street now, but if you want to bike here, there is plenty of places to lock up and a bottle filling station to hydrate after a long ride.

I have had this question for a while because so many people are doing it.
Do you genuinely think it looks nice? Do you think it looks real? What makes you choose to use it knowing people in general are going to associate your product with low effort and low quality?
I want to know why exactly you use AI art

My niece & nephew are currently stuck living with their abusive dad here in Fresno County. I'm a Mandated Reporter myself, and have made several reports to CPS. Their mom (my sister) can't have custody of them right now due to being homeless/using drugs. Each report was found to be "unstubstantiated".Their older brother (who is an adult) and I are now trying to get them removed and placed with my husband and I as a Kinship Foster Placement. We have video evidence of abuse, one of the children stating they feel unsafe/want to move, and also audio recordings. CPS is continuing to allow these kids to be abused. Any advice?

Am I experiencing some kind of Mandela effect, or does anyone else remember this?
I swear I remember hearing that Kanye West and Kim Kardashian stopped at the REI in Fresno, possibly to buy outdoor gear while on their way to Yosemite.
I vaguely remember it being a pretty big deal locally, with people talking about it on Twitter. I don’t think they were there very long, but I remember there being some buzz around town about it.
For the life of me, I can’t remember exactly when this happened, and now I’m questioning whether it was even Kanye and Kim or some other celebrity couple entirely.
Does anyone else remember this? Or am I completely misremembering something? lol

Hi 👋 I’m switching gyms soon and wanted to come on here and ask for gym recommendations.
Looking for something budget friendly, clean, and close to West Fresno. Not looking to spend more than $40/month.
