Splitting the brand new Maison Crivelli Tobacco Carnaval, a 2026 release created in collaboration with perfumer Quentin Bisch. If you're familiar with Maison Crivelli's Extrait collection, you already know they don't exactly do subtle fragrances — and Tobacco Carnaval looks to continue that tradition. This is a 32% Extrait de Parfum built around tobacco, but rather than going for the traditional dry cigar-box style, Tobacco Carnaval takes tobacco in a sweeter, boozier and more playful direction.

Maison Crivelli describes the fragrance as tobacco leaf meeting warm infused rum, surrounded by fruity and liqueur-like facets. The house intentionally keeps the complete formula a mystery, but the overall impression is a combination of tobacco, booze, warm spices, smoke and gourmand sweetness. The name "Carnaval" actually fits the fragrance perfectly. This isn't quiet, reserved tobacco. It's warm, rich and celebratory tobacco surrounded by the sweetness and boozy atmosphere of a late-night party. If you are familiar with the vintage formulations of Parfums de Marly Herod, then I think you will enjoy this fragrance. For me personally there is something in this drydown that makes me think of vintage Herod (2012).

Early impressions have also been interesting because people seem to experience the gourmand side differently, everything from boozy fruit and caramelized sweetness to darker smoky tobacco.

Splitting the new Tom Ford Tobacco Chocolat. Bottle is already in hand and after spending some time sampling this one, I think the name might give people the wrong impression of what to expect. Don't let "Chocolat" fool you — this is unmistakably a TOBACCO fragrance. I personally don't get a ton of chocolate from it. There is a subtle dark cacao quality underneath, but on my skin the tobacco is clearly the star of the show. It's warm, rich, dry and slightly smoky, with a deep tobacco character that feels more sophisticated than gourmand. Patchouli, woods and balsamic notes add to the warmth and give the fragrance a darker, almost resinous quality as it dries down.

Actually, one of the first fragrances it reminded me of was Serge Lutens Fumerie Turque. I'm not saying they're identical, but if you're familiar with Fumerie Turque, there's something about that warm, smoky, slightly sweet tobacco atmosphere that puts Tobacco Chocolat in similar territory for me. And that's probably the biggest surprise here. With a name like Tobacco Chocolat, I expected something considerably sweeter and more chocolate-forward. Instead, Tom Ford seems to have put the emphasis firmly on the TOBACCO, with the cacao/chocolate acting more as a supporting element.

If you're looking for a chocolate gourmand, this may not be what you're expecting.

If you're looking for a rich, warm Tom Ford tobacco fragrance, though, this is absolutely one to try.

Le Labo Thé Noir 29 — one of the darker, richer and more distinctive fragrances from the house. Thé Noir translates to "Black Tea," and that contrast between freshness and darkness is really what makes this fragrance stand out. It opens with bergamot, fig and bay leaves, giving it a fresh, slightly fruity and green introduction. Le Labo Another 13 — easily one of the most recognizable fragrances from the house and also one of the hardest to describe until you've actually smelled it. Another 13 isn't your typical fresh, sweet or woody fragrance. It's built around Ambroxan, creating a clean, musky, almost addictive skin scent that seems to smell slightly different depending on who's wearing it. The opening is subtle and airy, with touches of pear, apple and citrus, but the real star is the combination of Ambroxan, musk and woods underneath. It's clean without smelling soapy. Musky without being heavy. Slightly sweet, slightly woody, and almost impossible to pinpoint. This is one of those fragrances where you might stop noticing it on yourself — and then randomly catch it in the air hours later.

Going into the Creed vault with Creed Himalaya — one of the house's classic releases and one that doesn't get talked about nearly enough.

Himalaya was inspired by Olivier Creed's travels through the Himalayan mountains and is built around the contrast of bright citrus, clean aromatics and smooth woods.

It opens crisp and refreshing with bergamot, lemon and mandarin, before transitioning into a clean, slightly metallic aromatic heart. As it dries down, sandalwood, cedarwood and musk give it a smooth, masculine finish.

What I like about Himalaya is how effortlessly put together it smells. It's not loud or overly sweet. It's fresh, clean, woody and sophisticated — the type of fragrance that works just as easily with a T-shirt as it does dressed up.

There's also a distinctive cool, almost icy metallic freshness running through it that separates Himalaya from the typical citrus/woody fragrance.

Carmina is the richer and more sensual of the two. It opens with juicy black cherry wrapped around spicy saffron and pink pepper, before moving into a floral heart of Rose de Mai, peony and violet.

I don’t have bottles in hand yet, but I was able to get my hands on a sample—and this one is really good. I’m trying to gauge interest before placing my order so I can get a better idea of how many bottles I should bring in for the split.

All Splits are shipped in glass atomizers, the 10ml will come in a 15ml atomizer. The atomizers come labeled.

The necks are wrapped with teflon tape to avoid leakage, and wrapped in bubble wrap, and shipped in a rigid cardboard box via USPS first class parcel.
