Application Release SCANCORE: an app for anime, novels and comics.

Post image
44 Upvotes

I wanted one app for the things I read and watch, without a browser tab per site and without an account. So I built SCANCORE: a native app for reading manhwa, manga, webtoons and web novels and watching anime, with your library, history and downloads kept on your own device.

Works the moment you open it. The sources are built in, so there are no extension repositories to find or add. Comics, novels and anime share one library, one history and one search. Everything lives in a single SQLite file you can back up.

And the rest:

- Comics: search Asura Scans, Webtoon, MangaDex, Flame Comics and more at once. Vertical strip for webtoons, or page by page for manga (left-to-right or right-to-left).

- Novels: Royal Road discovery shelves plus the NovelFull family, with a tunable reader (serif, sans or grotesk type, line spacing, paper, sepia, dark and black themes). An optional extended pack on desktop adds about 130 more sites.

- Anime: AniList-powered trending, seasonal and top lists, a 7-day airing schedule, resume, auto-next and AniSkip for intros and endings.

- Library: background new-chapter checks with notifications, offline downloads for comic and novel chapters, history grouped by day, and a Ctrl+K command palette.

- Android: phone layout with bottom tabs, stacked details pages and touch controls.

- No account needed. An optional scancore.onl account only adds syncing with the website.

- Updates itself in the background on every platform (Android opens the system installer).

- MIT licensed. Light, dark and black themes, five accent colours, and a "Reduce motion" switch.

- Known limits: the macOS build is not notarised yet (right-click, then Open, the first time). Android is a sideloaded APK. Some brand-new or obscure anime episodes may not play yet, and the player says so instead of showing a broken video.

- SCANCORE only reads what sites show publicly. It doesn't bypass paywalls, logins or locked chapters, and it doesn't host any content. Not affiliated with any of the sites. Please support the creators of the series you enjoy.

Application Release HomeTiles: a big-tile launcher for small phones, with its own dialler, SMS and contacts

Thumbnail
gallery
5 Upvotes

I have a Unihertz Jelly 2 with a 3 inch screen and wanted a home screen with large tiles on it that stays usable, so I wrote HomeTiles. The first picture is my own setup, the second shows how small the phone is and the third has the home screen, messages and dialler from the emulator.

  • tiles for apps, contacts, shortcuts, widgets, folders and other pages, on a grid you size yourself
  • dialler, call screen, SMS and contacts in the same app and the same look
  • it can take the phone and SMS roles but also works without them
  • usable with a d-pad and number keys, so keypad Android phones should work (only tested with key events so far)
  • SOS tile that texts up to five people and then opens the keypad instead of calling
  • dark, light and high contrast themes, English, German, Spanish, French and Italian

Permissions are optional and only asked for when you use the feature that needs them. There's no INTERNET permission and no QUERY_ALL_PACKAGES. F-Droid builds it from source and the release build is reproducible.

Application Request Really configuring the notifications/sounds

• Upvotes

Hey,

Is there an app where I can really manage the notifications and sounds how I like? For example:

I always want calls to be on loud

I want Facebook etc. to be quiet when I press like.

I want notifications from apps to be silent

I want messages to vibrate

Currently I haven't found a way to do it. Thank you very much for your help!

Application Release Allergy Radar: pollen levels for anywhere in Italy, plus a symptom diary

Post image
34 Upvotes

License: MIT

I couldn't find any app in the stores that tracked allergy levels based on location, even an approximate one, so I built my own.

---

It shows 15 types of pollen for wherever you are in Italy. Forecasts come from Open-Meteo (CAMS) and real measurements from ISPRA, and next to each value the app tells you which of the two it is, or if it's just an estimate.

There's a symptom diary that takes a few seconds a day. After a while it shows which pollens match your worst days, and you can export it as a PDF for your allergist. It also has alerts and a home screen widget.

No account, no ads, no trackers, and it doesn't need Google Play Services.

The app is only in Italian for now, since the data only covers Italy.

Development note: Used AI for heavy async/vision tasks and prompt handling, but the core architecture, state management, and main Kotlin code were written by hand.

Application Release Omnisuite — An Android document viewer and productivity toolkit I'm building

Hey everyone! 👋

I'm an indie Android developer, and I've been building Omnisuite, a project aimed at bringing document viewing and productivity tools together in one Android app.

Instead of maintaining a separate app for every document workflow, I want to make it easier to access everyday document tools from one place.

What I'm working toward:

- A unified document-viewing experience

- PDF functionality and document utilities

- An Android-first interface

- An open-source project that developers can inspect and contribute to

I'm publishing the project on Google Play while continuing to improve the implementation.

📱 Google Play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.karnadigital.omnisuite

💻 Source code: https://github.com/Karna14314/Omnisuite

I'd appreciate feedback from Android users and developers. Which document formats or productivity features would make a unified app like this genuinely useful to you?

I'm particularly interested in practical feedback about usability, compatibility, and missing features.

Thanks for checking it out!

Application Release Free Android app streams phone audio to Sonos over Wi-Fi

Tired of the Sonos app not supporting every app? My Play:1 lacks Bluetooth, AirPlay, and line-in, so I built Sunus to stream any phone audio losslessly to Sonos—no extra hardware or computer needed.

Two modes:

Standard: No setup, uses Android’s normal capture. Some apps (Netflix, Audible) block it.

All apps: Captures everything, including blocked apps. Requires one-time Wireless Debugging pairing (Android 12+), no root, no PC.

—ideal for music, not for video sync.

Free, open-source (MIT), no ads, no account. APK:

github.com/tomkainz/sunus

Built with AI help. Beta version, tested on Android 17 with Play:1 (S2). Feedback and bug reports welcome.

Application Release [Open Source] I built SVA Launcher: a customizable Android TV launcher with IPTV, NES games, Google Photos, and more

Hey everyone!

I've been working on SVA Launcher, a free and open-source launcher for Android TV, and wanted to share it with the community.

I wanted a TV home screen that was simple, customizable, and actually useful, without unnecessary clutter. I also wanted to bring together the things I regularly use on my TV instead of constantly switching between different apps.

So I started building SVA Launcher.

Features

  • Customizable home screen — Choose your favorite apps, arrange shortcuts, and use your own photos as backgrounds.
  • Live TV / IPTV — M3U/M3U8 playlists, XMLTV program guides, channel categories, and integrated playback with ExoPlayer.
  • Built-in NES emulator — Play your own NES games using the integrated Nestopia UE emulator, with remote and gamepad support.
  • Google Photos integration — Display photos from public shared albums as your TV wallpaper or screensaver.
  • Custom screensaver — Nine different visual styles, with optional clock, weather, and events.
  • Calendar and events — Connect a public Google Calendar feed and view upcoming events.
  • Weather — Current weather conditions and a three-day forecast.
  • Saved YouTube videos — Keep shortcuts to frequently watched videos and playlists.
  • Backup and restore — Export and import your launcher configuration.
  • Remote-friendly navigation — Designed for Android TV with D-pad navigation.

SVA Launcher supports Android TV 8.0 and newer.

How to install

The app is currently available through the Google Play testing program.

  1. Join the Google Group: https://groups.google.com/g/sva-launcher
  2. Join the testing program: https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.sva.launcher
  3. Once enrolled, follow the Google Play link to install SVA Launcher on your Android TV.

Alternatively, you can install the APK directly from the GitHub.

Open source

The entire project is available under the GPLv3 license.

GitHub: https://github.com/clay-36/Sva-launcher

The project is still evolving, and I'm actively improving the experience. Bug reports, suggestions, and contributions are welcome on GitHub.

Thanks for checking it out!

Application Release My Tracking App: count cigarettes, IQOS or anything u want and cut down at your own pace

Post image
7 Upvotes

License: MIT

You log every cigarette (or IQOS, vape, whatever you want to cut down on) and it keeps track of how many you had, what's left in the pack and how much you're spending. You can set up a reduction plan for each product, and there are goals and charts by day, week and month.

There's a home screen widget so logging is one tap, plus reminders, CSV export and backup.

It doesn't even have the internet permission, so nothing leaves your phone. English and Italian, it follows the phone's language.

---

I built this app to help my girlfriend track how many Terea Turquoise sticks she smokes a day and support her in cutting down.

Development note: Used AI for heavy async/vision tasks and prompt handling, but the core architecture, state management, and main Kotlin code were written by hand.

Application Release AlarmQ - An app to queue alarm intervals.

Thumbnail
gallery
1 Upvotes

License: MIT

Built this for myself as I couldn't find an app that actually plays alarms instead of giving notifications. Also, I wanted the next interval to start only after I explicitly acknowledge the current ringing alarm.

Its just a modifiable list of alarm intervals that cycle (after the last alarm rings, the next active interval would be the first interval in the list).

Not sure if this is useful to anybody else, but I find it useful. I mostly use it to take breaks from the screen. If there are any better alternatives that I could use, please suggest.

Currently, it is pretty barebones but I'm satisfied with using it. If more people find it useful, I am considering spending some more time in its development.

Application Request FOSS MQTT client

Are there any FOSS MQTT clients that can do pub and sub? I see a few apps that can publish (HTTPShortcuts as an example). But haven't found any that subscribe.

I can use mosquitto in termux as a last resort but would prefer a purpose built app if there is one available.

Application Release Heartwood: FOSS Material You Health Connect Viewer

Thumbnail
gallery
34 Upvotes

With Health Connect becoming integrated into Android and the native step tracking counter, I built an app to help visualize Health Connect data!

Features

  • Today Dashboard: Cards for steps, heart rate, sleep, energy, distance, and more. Long press to rearrange / hide cards.
  • Detail views with charts, stats and recent records for each metric
  • Weekly summary showing goals and progress
  • Home-screen widgets

Fully offline, no trackers, no analytics and open source under GPL-3!

Works with anything that writes into Health Connect: Gadgetbridge, fitness trackers, Android's counters, etc.

Get it on F-Droid or GitHub. Android 9+

Application Release [Update] MemoryVoid v2.0.0 – FOSS hardware-triggered note & voice workspace (New multi-media editor, 5 button triggers, 4 layout modes)

hey r/fossdroid!

back with a massive update for MemoryVoid (v2.0.0). for anyone who missed the first post, i wanted an open-source, completely offline alternative to Nothing's Essential Space that works on any Android phone without cloud bloat or telemetry.

v1.0.0 was pretty barebones (mostly just single voice memo + screenshot capture). for v2.0.0, i rewrote a bunch of the storage and UI logic so it can actually serve as a daily FOSS note-taking utility alongside the hardware triggers.

v2.0.0 changelog:

  • Full Note & Checklist Utility: full-screen editor supporting multi-line notes, interactive checklists, gallery image attachments, and multiple voice recordings per card (stored locally in app storage via JSON arrays—nothing ever leaves your device).
  • 5 Physical Shortcut Modes: added Double-Tap & Hold, Vol Up -> Hold Vol Down Sequence, Screenshot on Start, and Power Hold (via default Digital Assistant slot—super handy if you don't use Google Assistant/Gemini on your power button).
  • Optional Screenshots: added a sidebar toggle to completely disable screen capture if you only want audio/text notes.
  • UI Customization: added 4 layout styles (Void Classic, Bento Grid, Capsule Split, Focus Ledger) and custom per-card background colors.

built natively in Kotlin, MIT licensed, zero trackers, zero internet permission needed.

🔗 GitHub Repo & v2.0.0 APK: https://github.com/dhruvpitroda20-code/MemoryVoid/releases/tag/v2.0.0

would love to hear how the new Digital Assistant power-hold trigger works across different custom ROMs and OEM skins!
