As the title says, this was found in a beech monoculture forest in the leaf litter. Instinct tells me a young Trooping Funnel (I hope)

I recently started growing watermint. Which I think is a UK wetland native species. You can pick and eat the leaves year round and they have a really refreshing taste.
I want to find more edible plants! Does anyone know of any good instagram profiles to follow.
Appreciate any help :)

This time last year I already collected around 3kg of penny buns - starting in later September.
This year - zero penny buns. But also other mushrooms - I only found 3 (!!!) baby boletes.
What is going on? Was it too dry? Am I too late? or am I too early?

Just received my copy of the Collins Gem Mushrooms pocket book and it lists the Scarletina as poisonous. I have the 2020 copy - is this info out of date?
I understand a lot of guides want to err on the side of caution, but it seems like quite a misrepresentation given they’ve listed honey fungus as ‘edible but must be well cooked’. My understanding was that Scarletina is also edible once thoroughly cooked.
Now wondering what other mistakes are in here that anyone can flag, or if anyone has alternative suggestions for an other or more updated guides. I also have the Roger Phillips ‘Mushrooms’ book.

Went out foraging in the Highlands and found some tasty winter chanterelles today, and quite possibly the biggest I've ever seen!

Initially thought they were oysters but the characteristics seem off

Growing directly from the soil in a beech wood. The 'scales' rub off very easily. They are ure white inside, and don't stain.
Thanks 😊

Every year I get a flush of oyster mushroom in my backyard. Slugs get most of them but I decided to act fast on this clump. Quit while I’m ahead so to speak. Not very sure what I’ll make but there are still clumps of baby mushrooms developing so I might get more.

Stupidly picked some too early wgen I wasn't going to have access to anything to cook them for 2 days.
If I refrigerate them now just after picking will they be ok in 3 days?
Young buns not old.

I took the pictures of this as I found it - I didn't disturb it.
I'm not planning to take it but just curious on what it is

First time finding a suspected Hen of the woods. It a big one!
Doesn't stain black, has fine pores.
Anything I'm missing?
