Growing directly from the soil in a beech wood. The 'scales' rub off very easily. They are ure white inside, and don't stain.
Thanks ๐

I took the pictures of this as I found it - I didn't disturb it.
I'm not planning to take it but just curious on what it is

Every year I get a flush of oyster mushroom in my backyard. Slugs get most of them but I decided to act fast on this clump. Quit while Iโm ahead so to speak. Not very sure what Iโll make but there are still clumps of baby mushrooms developing so I might get more.

Stupidly picked some too early wgen I wasn't going to have access to anything to cook them for 2 days.
If I refrigerate them now just after picking will they be ok in 3 days?
Young buns not old.

I keep seeing people still find loads up north, but down south where I am, it feels like there's only a few old ones everyone missed. They are massive though!

Seen seeing people say the Boletes are finally out in the South West, I've not had much luck with them this year so far down in Cornwall, so I thought I'd go out to one of my better spots for penny buns this morning, saw a few in the hedge bank on the way but they're old, soggy and eaten, when I finally got to my main spot thoughthere was nothing but, this beauty Cauli was there, so not at all a wasted trip. Took just shy of a kilo head and left the smaller ones in situ.
