Discussion New Rules for Dropshipping Expert Verification and Revenue Claims Coming Soon

The mod team has been reviewing all violations of Rule #4 for some time now. We also asked the community for feedback on what makes a Dropshipper an expert in a thread that provoked vibrant discussion and a healthy helping of the usual spam for Fiverr's, scammers, etc...

We believe we have developed a model that will allow us to both stop banning most users for violation of Rule #4 and promote better, higher-level, discussions here that will help everyone.

This post is a pre-announcement to collect feedback on our new rules and processes. Each of these will be fully implemented by October 20th after community feedback.

1. Determining Expertise

A handful of users in this sub will be granted the flair "Dropshipping Expert" in the coming months. To obtain this flair the applicant will have to give the mods quite a bit of information and insights to help us determine their qualifications. Only the top of the top applicants for this will be approved.

Dropshipping Expert flair will grant the holder a few perks and should show to the community that your posts and comments are more trusted than others. We will try and come up with more perks for these soon. Here are the current perks:

  • Benefit of the Doubt - If a user reports your post as spam the mods will weight your Dropshipping Expert flair more heavily against their claim and consider the actions that might be taken more carefully.
  • Dropshipping Revenue Claims without Verification - Any Dropshipping Experts will be able to share screenshots of videos of their supposed results in our sub without the post being removed or taken down for Rule #4 violations.
  • Reviews / Recommendations Stay Up No Matter What - A major problem in our sub is that a course seller will report someone's negative review post by using dozens of Fiverr sellers who all send a terrible boilerplate fake legal takedown notice. When their attempts fail they will hound our mod mail inbox. All review / recommendation posts by Dropshipping Experts will be considered the highest quality and allowed to stay up as long as the post follow standard Reddit ToS / Reddiquette.
  • Right of First Mod Refusal - If we need more mods Dropshipping Expert flaired accounts will be the first we ask to join the team before opening it up to the community.

Here are some of the many qualifiers, more will be announced soon. You won't need all of these to qualify as a Dropshipping Expert, we will announce more specific details on this later.

  • At least 10 helpful comments in our subreddit over a 6-month period helping others. Comments must be at least +2 karma, indicating at least one other user found the comment helpful as well. We will specifically examine these comments for spam and ensure they are being helpful.
  • A public Dropshipping expert profile that allows for user feedback somewhere. Our preferred vendor for this will be ExpertHelp.com but any other rating/review site that allows for Dropshipping expertise to specifically be measured by others will be acceptable.
  • A public website blog, YouTube channel, X.com, Rumble channel, or LinkedIn account that shares helpful tips on dropshipping, ecommerce management, or ecommerce marketing. Content will be reviewed for accuracy, use of AI in generation of the knowledge, and "salesyness" of the applicants own product/course/theme/platform/tool/etc...
  • A degree in marketing or business administration from a school in the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, United Kingdom, or Ireland.
  • Able to prove earnings of at least $30,000 / month usd via a Dropshipping website. Must disclose the dropshipping vendor / factory, methods used to generate sales (in general), ad campaigns (if used), and show live ecommerce data to validate this.

2. Extraordinary Claims vs. Legitimate Claims

We have been hush hush about what we consider an "extraordinary claim" but that changes now after carefully reviewing the content removed as parts of known scam / spam attacks on our subreddit. Instead we will approach this with a few slight changes.

  1. Claims under $10,000 / month usd will have no action taken against them. These claims are considered ordinary, though users of our sub should still be cautious that mentors / gurus / course sellers will abuse this and try to scam you. Stay on your guard.

  2. Claims between $10,001 / month - $30,000 / month usd will now be considered "great" but will not be considered "extraordinary". Great results get more skepticism from the mod team and are likely to be removed but not marked as spam except in cases where the user spams the same / similar claims over and over. We will consider posting the same claim too frequently or in a way that should be post flaired as "marketplace" as spam and the user will be banned. Other than that, these claims are generally going to be allowed starting today.

  3. Claims over $30,000 / month usd will generally now be considered "Extraordinary" though the closer to the $30k the more likely the mod team is to consider this only an "amazing" claim. Claims such as "$100k usd in sales today" will always be considered "Extraordinary" and require revenue verification.

Short term claims such as daily or weekly are calculated up to a monthly claim. If you claim a $10,000 / day usd sales boost then our mod team considers that a $300,000 / month usd claim which falls under "Extraordinary" and Rule #4 applies.

Anyone banned for violations of Rule #4 from here on cannot appeal their bans, period.

3. Revenue Verification

We will no longer be doing revenue verification in private via mod mail. Instead ALL revenue verification requests must now be 100% public. To be revenue verified you must:

  • Make a post titled "Revenue Verification Request: [your reddit username + your revenue claim (+ dates if your claim has a date range)]".
  • Your post MUST include a link to a video on YouTube, X, Rumble, Loop, or another video site.
  • Your revenue verification video MUST be created on a desktop or laptop browser (not mobile or app) and must show the URL bar of your Shopify admin.
  • You must move your mouse around, click around, and show that your dashboard is live.
  • You must show the date range of your claim and it must line up 100%
  • You must edit your video to hide sensitive information such as email address, phone number, brand name, website, etc....
  • OPTIONAL - You can include your website, online reviews, etc... in your public post OR send this along with a link to your post to the mod team via mod mail.

Revenue verification grants a user flair and allows them to post about ANY revenue claim from that momement forward without scrutiny, being removed, or being banned.

Once you have gotten your verdict, you may delete your post.

4. Revenue Discussion Flair

Many of you noticed we introduced a new flair awhile back "Dropwinning".

This flair should be used for:

  • Bragging about a first sale
  • Bragging about revenue figures
  • Bragging about a celebrity client / brand as a client
  • Basically all other bragging about Dropshipping goes here

Virtually ALL uses for revenue claims should go into this flair or the marketplace flair. If not, you risk having your post marked as spam. And if you spam too much you risk being banned from our sub.

It is my hope that these updated rules allow for more bragging by Dropshippers who are actually killing it, allow us to highlight experts in our field who are extremely helpful and a benefit to our industry, and bring more knowledge for everyone while keeping spammers banished to the shadow realm.

Question how much did you spend on ads before making your first profitable sale?

their first $10k day, but nobody really talks about how much they spent getting there lol
for those who’ve actually made dropshipping work, how much did you burn on ads before things started turning around?

Discussion Looking for 3PL partners in the UK, EU and USA

Post image
2 Upvotes

Hi everyone,

I'm Mei, Head of Partnerships at GoRouteOne (gorouteone.com), a sourcing and fulfilment company for ecommerce brands. We work with DTC brands and dropshippers who source their products in China. We handle the sourcing, branding, quality checks and storage in our own warehouse in China, then ship orders to their customers.

As our clients grow, more of them want stock held closer to their customers. So we're looking for reliable 3PL partners in the UK, the EU and the USA to work with long term.

What we're looking for:

- Warehousing for bulk shipments sent from our China warehouse

- Pick, pack and ship for DTC orders, mostly single and small multi-item parcels

- Returns handling, including inspection and restocking

- Shopify integration, or an API we can connect to our platform

- Clear, per-order pricing with no hidden fees

- Good communication and fast issue resolution

- For EU partners: experience with EU VAT/IOSS and cross-border shipping within the EU

- Custom packaging and inserts a bonus, but not essential

What partners get:

- Steady inbound volume from growing ecommerce brands

- Stock arrives already checked, labelled and ready to put away

- One point of contact on our side for every client

- A long-term relationship as our client base grows in each market

If you're interested, please comment or get in touch with:

- Your warehouse location(s) and the countries you ship to

- Services you offer

- Typical pricing (storage, pick and pack, returns)

- Platforms and integrations you support

You can reach our partnerships team on WhatsApp at +44 7481 967856 or through gorouteone.com.

Recommendations are welcome too. If you've worked with a great 3PL in the UK, EU or US, we'd love to hear who.

Thanks,

Mei

Head of Partnerships, GoRouteOne

Question Does anyone else experience overcharges or hidden refund charges with suppliers? if so how do you keep track of it?

• Upvotes

I run a Shopify store with CJ and Aliexpress as my source for suppliers. A few times I’ve noticed the amount I was charged didn’t match what I expected

It’s not huge per order, but I’m not sure how much I’m missing since I mostly check by hand, so I wonder if i missed something in the supplier listing or if I just picked a bad supplier.

I have noticed a similar thing with refund charges

Two questions:

  1. Have you found charges like this, and roughly how much did it add up to?
  2. How do you check your supplier invoices against your orders (spreadsheet, tool, or just trust it)?

Question How are you guys actually making $3–4k in PROFIT (not revenue) every month? Am I missing something?

I've been working on my website and making creatives (to post organically)  for over a year now. I'm planning on starting to run paid ads on Meta and have set aside around $7,000 for now.

The thing is, I've been running the numbers, and my breakeven ROAS is around 1.62x, which is pretty decent for my niche (home decor/ lamps).

According to chat, the average ROAS in my niche is around 2.02x. So if I were to spend $3,000 on ads every month, I would be making under $900 in profit, IF everything goes right.

But here's the thing. Rn Meta Ads seems to be a complete mess, the 2.02x ROAS isn't a guarantee, and is pretty improbable during the first couple of months when you're still testing creatives, audiences, fresh pixels etc .

So how are you actually supposed to make a living or even get small rich from this?

With the possibility of having months where you lose a bit or all of your ad money on ads, and such a low return even when things go well, how are people consistently pulling in $3–4k or more in profits each month?

I understand that dropshipping isn't some get rich quick scheme. I know it takes a lot of work into building website, making ad creatives, analyzing data, doing market research, product research, etc. I've already spent over a year working on my store and the other stuff, so I'm not expecting everything to happen overnight.

But what I didn't expect was needing such a huge amount of money just to run ads, scale, and potentially cover losses for months before making enough profit to actually live on.

Am I missing something?

Do people just have $10–15k+ to spend on ads every month to make a few thousand in profit while also losing a lot of it back on the month meta start acting up? Are they just opening up 2-3 new stores once their first one becomes slightly profitable?

Or is making $3–4k in consistent monthly profit simply a lot rarer than people make it seem?

I'd genuinely appreciate hearing from people who are actually making a living doing this, especially those selling physical products rather than courses or digital products.

Not trying to complain.

Question Is AutoDS worth it for beginners, or are there better alternatives?

• Upvotes

Hey everyone!

I'm planning to start my first dropshipping business in November, and I've been looking into AutoDS for product sourcing and order fulfillment.

I'm wondering if AutoDS is a good option for beginners or if there are better and more affordable alternatives.

Is AutoDS reliable when it comes to shipping times, product quality, and fulfilling orders? Are there any hidden fees or problems I should know about?

For those who have used AutoDS, would you recommend it, or would you suggest starting with a different supplier or platform?

I'd really appreciate any advice or personal experiences. Thanks!

Question Where do you find reliable private fulfillment agents / direct suppliers in China?

For people already doing ecommerce/dropshipping, where did you actually find your reliable private fulfillment agent or direct product supplier?

I’m currently talking with several agents and suppliers, comparing:

  • product + shipping cost
  • QC
  • shipping times
  • communication
  • damaged/lost parcel handling
  • order-by-order fulfillment

I know Alibaba is one option, but I’m curious about other channels.

Are there any Facebook groups, X/Twitter communities, Reddit communities, sourcing networks, or other places where you’ve personally found good agents/suppliers?

Also, what are the biggest red flags you look for before trusting a new agent?

NOTE: Not looking for people to DM me selling their service, mainly interested in hearing where other sellers actually found partners they’ve worked with successfully.

Question Beginner here, need help clearing up some concepts

Hey all! Quick context: I haven't actually started yet. I'm taking my time to understand the whole process before spending anything. I'm following an organic dropshipping course by a Spanish creator (Marc Verdú) and I want a solid big-picture view and to check things with people who are actually doing it, because I keep getting conflicting info.

My main questions:

**1. General store vs one product / niche store.** Some say go general so you can test products fast, others say one product store because it converts better and builds a brand. What's worked for you and why?

**2. How does that translate to social media?** This is the part I struggle to picture. One TikTok/IG account per product or per niche? Do I create a new account every time I want to test a new product? Does the algorithm penalize constantly creating new accounts or deleting old ones? How do you handle it?

I would really want to understand the decision making and cascade process between product selection, store creation and handleling social media.

**3. Organic vs ads.** From what I've seen, starting with paid ads with zero experience can be a great way to burn money. Does it make sense to start 100% organic, validate a product, and only then use ads to scale? At what point did you make that jump?

Any experience, early mistakes or resources that helped you are hugely appreciated. Thanks!

Question Razorpay/Cashfree/GoKwik + COD sellers, please help

I want to know if you check your COD orders remittence and is there any way I can match the payments with my payment gateway orders. Currently I have all the orders on razorpay but the remittence reports are from the courier services, so have to separately check the prepaid and COD orders.

Which gateway + courier service do you use and how do you check your COD payouts ? have you ever found a short payment by any courier service ?

Also I heard shiprocket lets you have the reports automated to some email ?
