White River in Michigan

Hey everyone!

I've been wondering how much of the experience gained from flying a regular DJI drone can be applied to flying FPV drones.

For example, DJI drones like the Mini, Air, and Mavic series are relatively easy to fly because of their stabilization systems and flight assistance features.

On the other hand, FPV drones can be much more challenging, especially when flying in Acro/Manual mode.

I'm curious whether learning to fly a regular DJI drone first would provide a useful foundation for FPV flying.

Specifically:

1. Which flying skills are transferable between regular DJI drones and FPV drones?

2. Can practicing maneuvers, maintaining orientation, and controlling altitude on a DJI drone improve FPV flying skills?

3. How different is the learning curve when transitioning from a regular DJI drone to an FPV drone?

4. Are there any specific exercises someone can practice on a regular DJI drone to prepare for FPV?

5. Has anyone here transitioned from DJI camera drones to FPV? What was your experience like?

I'm particularly interested in whether practicing with a regular DJI drone can help someone prepare for FPV flying without relying entirely on simulators.

I'd appreciate any advice or personal experiences. Thanks!

Captured this hyperlapse of Montreal’s famous Pink House, sitting on top of the old Canada Malting factory.

Mission pre planned in Litchi Hub

With part of the surrounding industrial complex being demolished, I thought it was a good opportunity to capture this unusual Montreal landmark while it's still standing.

Pretty happy with how the clouds turned out.

Title. Ive always been fascinated by Unmanned Aerial Manipulators, since they can not only see the environment, but also change it. The thing is, I know that for a number of reasons they are still not used/adopted. I cannot help but wonder, what could these platforms solve/achieve, once research, actuators, controls and adoption catch up?

Id be very interested in hearing what you think/envision, doesnt matter how far-fetched or contrived :))

I’m currently have a 5.8Ghz single issue even 1meter away it immediately lost signal but the 2.4Ghz work fine and the dealer want to replace the whole motherboard but I think the main issue was the 5.8Ghz ic chip which cost around 10-50$ to but I cannot understand where is the chip located on this AIR2s mainboard. Can someone please help me pin point the 5.8Ghz chip ? Anything would help me a lot!!!

I just got the parrot rc drone for free, I dont know much about rc drone. Does anybody know if the app still works? Or where i can find it

Does the American Model Aviation Association liability insurance cover international flights?

I am trying to find liability insurance for an upcoming trip to Namibia. I do not have any form of a license/certificate.

Is there anyone that can create a DJI emulator for enterprise series RCs? Use need: I am a UAS program manager for a public safety agency. Want to be able to have pilots to see a “RC” on a tablet or their phone and be able to manipulate the actions of the RC and what they will see on the RC when the function is activated. We have 8 drones but many more potential pilots. I would rather they each have a “remote” in their hand instead of hovering or watching a video. Just an idea for those that are good at making these types of things.

Are there any people here who can go down to the shallow water and pick up a drone or some other services? And how much does it cost?
