digital AI-isolation, by me
Hey everyone, here's an illustration for this year's art contest organized by Festival Reflection of Terror. The theme was the theft from artists via generative AI. Even though these days I don't have a lot of free time, I really wanted to answer this year's call because it is definitely a sensitive topic and a force that is changing all of our lives, plus, something that made me question myself for pursuing the career and lifestyle of an artist and illustrator.
I hope you will like this illustration, swipe to see the painting process!

from a photo Its just that your wings are so much more beautiful than mine
"It's just that your wings are so much more beautiful than mine."
Swallowtail butterfly x Saturnia moth, as my gf and I. She is a superrrrr skinniiii trans woman with nice white totally smooth skin while Im this nasty fat brownish female with terrible bumpy ugly scarred hairy skin
my body dysmorphia makes the relationship marred by my intense jealousy.. (although her gender dysphoria does it back to me)

showcase 2x recreating a drawing I did 1 year ago. If I do this each year I'll have a nice chain of progress. Still loads to improve on but I'm happy with what I achieved so far!

showcase Trying new things
This is new for me. For years I've been frustrated attempting photo realism and failing. I was competent when I was younger; when I had ample time and focus to practice. But I'm a lot older now and that effort never seems to equal the output. So I've started spending an hour or two every night just putting pencil to paper instead of doom scrolling. Sometimes I'm happy with the results. Sometimes it's just lines. But I'm starting to enjoy the time spent making them.

charcoal Liquid charcoal Sci-Fi experiment
Liquid charcoal is a new material for me - usually I draw with General’s pencils - trying it now after gaining more experience in watercolor and oil, and I’m really enjoying the painterly handling of this Schminke brand liquid charcoal in a tube.
Inspired here by Sci-Fi magazine covers from the 70s and 80s - I wanted to try something more “commercial” than my usual surrealist imagery.
This is a one-armed, headless Terminator-style endoskeleton discovering a gigantic robotic head In a desert…I actually set up a still-life with a 3D printed head I have, so I could draw this from life as much as possible.
Enjoy and feedback & comments welcome!
