Never saw a Gheed's Fortune drop that fast ever in any run I've done. Not the best stats but vendor stat maxed, nice.

Its structured like its its supposed to be important. It gets its own prominent place in the character sheet. When you get your first gear drop from a fallen you see it has defence. As you move up in gear you get more and more def. Its on nearly every equipment slot. There are many affixes related, flat, %, vs missile. Its the thing that ethereal raises, nearly every unique, set, runeword gives it a bonus. Half the classes have skills that can boost it.

Despite the game seeming to be structured so its the primary defensive stat if your defense were never increaed the game wouldn't be that much tougher. In fact half the time it is set to 0. A good shield will do ​​as good or better job of keeping you safe. The real primary defensive stats are life, which is gotten just by leveling up (thus trivializing the quest for it) and resist which requires lucky rolls. You know these are the primary ones because if you went through the game without THESE increasing it would be far more serious than if you were lacking any other defensive stats.

For contrast imagine if they did this with weapons. If weapons didnt give the primary offensive stat (damage) but instead gave a secondary stat like attack rating vs undead. A short sword give 5 attack rating vs undead while a light saber gave 150. Your damage was stuck at 1-2 and to raise it you had to find weapons that rolled +damage or +damage charms to get this core thing. That would seem like a major screw up. Yet thats how defense is.

It was a good day yesterday, got my first SOJ and was even more excited to get this. I upped it to a hydra now and this will be a good backup to my Faith bow. Dying to get a Windforce and Eaglehorn to complete my top unique bow collection.

Ive never played a western rpg in my 4o years of gaming before but for some reason i thought id give this a whirl.

Im currently stuck on the last boss of act 1 i cant remember her name ari something or other weak to fire uses poison in the catacombs or something, but i just only found out i can grind the forgotten tower and the boss for runes, so im just doing a little grinding

Anyway this game reminds me a lot of nioh or i can see where nioh took its inspiration from with its gear, so anybody care to clue me into the affixes which a straight up DOO DOO, i see a lot of defensive affixes ie things like enhanced defence maximum minimum damage ect ect and such which i find confusing as somebody that does not really understand a lot of the stuff like the numbers scaling ect and have to be told in the most idiot way proof possible, ie this is good this is not really worth it

Im going for a summon necromancer currently, and yeah im having a really good time i just have to find a way to manage my gear better as i tend to always try keeping stuff ie i have a ton of gems and runes thinking i will use these at some point but never do

Tbh, I'm more of a oldschool farming guy and don't run TZs that often. But I've been wondering if it's more efficient, especially with Enigma, to terrorize entire acts and rush the best spots?

tl;dr im just mind blown how long this game can take to get all your grails/bis’s/etc for endgame content. is the most fun class to create the one you already have gear for, or the one you need to farm gear for?? 🧐

little background, im coming from diablo3 where i had every class running multiple GR150 builds or really close to it with only 138hrs in-game!! (i guess thatd be comparable to ubers on d2)

enter d2..480hrs in and im just getting a my first char to be able to comfortably solo tz hell baal, still havent done any ubers yet but now im looking forward to it.

reading posts on here about people who’ve been playing 20 years and just getting their first griffon, SoJ, etc absolutely blows my mind. i understand people who play more are more likely to get drops and maybe those people say 20 years of playing but took 5-10 years off from playing the game due to kids, life, etc. so, how long did it take everyone to get their build to a point you were happy with all items? what build did you try/transition to from there?

my first character was a warlock. then i made trapsin after nerf. finished hell a couple weeks ago. today i got my ww barb to a point id consider im no longer actively looking for gear for him. ElJefe is complete. my trapsin is pretty close to having everything for mosiac build. i have a lot of nice javazon gear i came across sitting on a lvl 1 i may start playing today but i also have some gear sitting on a pally. im kinda torn where to go. people say play what seems the most fun but the all seem enjoyable in their own right.

havent played a summoner yet. thinking about going that route; thinking about druid over necro..

also looking back and remembering some DECENT items i sold to vendors because i didnt know any better hurts so much 😅

From what I've seen, one of the main complaints on heralds is that their drops are just bad (which i agree with). But it seems people focus on just the quality factor. If it was at all possible, this is what I'd like to see

Quality factor up to level of superuniques (or perhaps slightly below given my other suggestions)

All rares and magic items drop with max affixed, from a reduced pool of affixes (mainly removing the absolute lowest tier of affixes, like a dmg affix that only gives +20% enhanced dmg)

If potion drops, must be full rejuv or rejuv.

If a white item drops, improved chances to be elite base.

Whenever a shards would drop, instead drop a random Uber key or Uber statue.

This would make them much more interesting than just dropping unique more often i think. Let me know if I'm crazy lol

Like the title says, I got D2R on switch2 so im doing an offline run. I managed to get a good LK map with 2 bonfires right below the WP. I got an ohm after maybe 10 lk runs but after another 100 or so the best I can find was fal and dol. Im just waiting for ist so I can make cta and then ill start farming for Jah & Ber.

How many runs should I expect to do before I find what i need. Im assuming I got lucky by finding the ohm so early

i don't know why people act like it is a perfect flawless game, i think it's a good game but there are some flaws.

Hi all. I've been getting a few comments on my now outdated Bowlock video asking for an update so I finally managed to put another video together after doing a lot of experimenting and tweaking of my Bowlock. This build guide goes over the strategy behind the setup and showcases (as far as I can tell) a max GG optimized (hero edited to be as good as it can get) "herald hunter" Bowlock I put together, but I also go over alternative gear you can use that's significantly less GG and still very strong.
