D2R Act II cleared on Hardcore mode

Hi everyone! I just finished the second act on hardcore mode at level 24. For some reason I found it way easier than the first one, I guess it's because I have more developed skills now. Luckily, this time I wasn't close to dying at any point.

To defeat Duriel, I focused on trapping him with Bone Wall, casting curses on him like Amplify Damage and Decrepify, while my mercenary and clay golem fought him in melee. I attacked him with level 3 Bone Spear. Unfortunately my skeletons were completely useless, just punching bags lol. They died instantly.

Duriel's corpse dropped that green Necromancer wand from the Sander's Superstition set, I guess I'll put it to good use.

I love this game!! Now I'm starting Act III. I've never had issues with Mephisto, but the Kurast jungle tends to be a bit looong.

Hope I don't die. How do you usually do in Act III? What strategy do you usually use against Mephisto?

That feeling when Mirror Blade rolls high damage and Crushing Blow for a quick kill is so satisfying that I just can't stop reliving those moments.

Diablo 2 R first person mod

• Upvotes

Hello , all I am looking to find the correct links to get the first person diablo two experience.

I am aware that downloading the D2R 3D standalone will crash within 1 minute. Therefore, I am looking for the camera plugins for D2Rloader (I have) which I cannot find via my copilot search or ChatGPT search. I simply can't find it.

I have a fresh offline install of Diablo 2 that should not interfere with battle net authenticity, and I've already been able to load diablo 2 game through D2R loader.I just need the plugins to put in D2R.

Is it possible that it is now no longer available? If anybody is able to assist in this, please provide a workable link or some sort of resource that I can get this going.

I very much would like to see Diablo 2 in first person to bring back lots of memories in a different way. I was actually a beta tester back in 2000 for diablo 2 and have the beta cd on my wall, I have a long history with computer games. After seeing the first person view on several different websites , I was simply taken away.Thank you ever so much in advance

Discussion What is the best strategy for Uber Ancients?

• Upvotes

I realise that my “team” may not be the best but we farm uber Tristram together all the time easy peasy. Maybe uber ancients just can’t be done on P2.

Im a Smiter and he’s a fury Druid.

When we’ve had success it’s been by taking down Talic first (if we can even do that) his WW is just so hard to get through. If he spams it I’m typically toast leaving my buddy all alone.

Would love to hear thoughts.

Discussion Question about Raven skill for Zookeeper build

I'm hoping to better understand the mechanics for the Raven skill attack calculations and what, if anything, will boost their damage and chance to hit beyond skill points.

I made a Zookeeper Druid pre-ROTW and vaguely remember either reading or being told by another player that Ravens have a guaranteed chance to hit. And that only the #of hits and total damage was determined by skill level. But I haven't played this particular build in forever and am kinda fuzzy on it.

Is that true, and if so, is that still the case or was it changed with the new expansion? Additionally, is there anything that will boost Raven damage besides skill points? iirc, auras like Might/Fanatacism don't work on Ravens.

Tagging @Somethin_Snazzy since they initially asked the question so we can learn together.

Discussion What is the best way of playing Diablo 2 : LoD ? (no d2r)

Hello,
Im kind of a new Diablo player. I discovered the franchise about 2 months ago. Since then Ive finished Diablo 1 countless times and I think its finally time for me to move on to Diablo 2.

I know the definitive best way of playing Diablo 2 is with D2R, but since im coming from Diablo 1, Id like to play the og Diablo 2 : LoD before the remaster, with the old graphics and all, and from what I heard, the legacy version is crap on D2R. So here's my question, do I just play the vanilla d2:lod as is, or is there some community patch I can use to make my life more enjoyable ?

In Diablo 1 there is this thing called DevilutionX, which is basically a patched version of the game with much quality of life added to it, I was wondering if there was something similar for d2:lod.

I wont lie if the vanilla version of d2 is as dated as vanilla d1, ill probably not last long lol
I need at the very least a decent framerate support, and not be capped at 30 or 60 fps

Thank you for your consideration, Im looking forward to playing this masterpiece!!

Discussion 1000 Mephisto runs results.

(Yes my handwriting is poor 😭**)**

How well did I do with these drops? 😅
Just interested in hearing what people think of my drops so far!

My stats 250 mf, P3, average run time <1min

I actually did around 300 runs before I started recording everything, as keeping track seemed to give me a bit more focus. I’m not on PC, so unfortunately I don’t have any fancy add-ons or loot trackers to use.

Some of these items might not be particularly rare to more experienced players, but at the time, they were either drops I’d hardly ever seen or items I’d never found before.

I’ve listed everything roughly from the more common drops to what I believe are the rarer ones.

My drops so far:
Magefist x3
Dwarf Star x3
Raven Frost x3
Guillaume’s Face (G-Face) x3
Rockstopper x1
Templar’s coat x2
Arreat’s Face x1
Kira’s Guardian x1
Razortail x1
Highlord’s Wrath x2
Blade of Ali Baba x1
Rainbow Facet x1
Tal Rasha’s Adjudication x1
Bul-Kathos’ Wedding Band x1
Andariel’s Visage x3
Stone of Jordan (SoJ) x1

This also doesn’t include the hundreds of common set items, gems and charms that have dropped along the way!
So, what do you think? How lucky have I been overall? Always interested to hear other players’ opinions!

"Oh I'll just spam farm TZ countess + Andy for like 10-15 runs"

...by the time you've reached level 2 of tower of your first run... 2 more A1 shards and an A2 shard. Ah well...

The solution is now "skip anything that might drop value in order to not over farm shards"

Some problems are good problems, I guess.

Discussion Am I crazy for not liking Synergies?

I dunno about anyone else, but to me, synergies feel like they pidgeonhole me into a certain build. Like, before they added the synergies to Blade Sentinel, for example, I loved using that for any kind of assassin build just to apply poison and do some chip damage to enemies. Now though, it feels like a waste if you don't go all in on it because it gets SO much stronger.

Call me crazy, but I kinda wish they'd have boosted melee damage and stuff instead, and actually REDUCED the synergies on some skills(buffing them to compensate). Like, imagine if they made Wake of Inferno synergyless, but like, really decent regardless, just not QUITE as good as a fully synergized lightning trap? So you could spec into it and get a decent source of fire damage AND do something else completely different like a martial arts assassin or whatever.

I dunno, anyone else feel this way?

Discussion Just finished Diablo 2 Resurrected for the first time ever. Previously finished the OG version of the game once, maybe 4-6 years ago. The fight went relatively okay, but I'm ashamed I had to retreat to restock on potions. It's sad that the game is now COMPLETELY over and there is naught else to do!

BTW what's that about tremors? BTW I talked to Tyrael again because I did not realize where "his" portal was supposed to have been, though I was also curious about something in his speech/convo. I did not realize his portal was indeed separate from mine until I had talked to Deckard, because I couldn't find it. Also, I will admit I wasn't paying attention, why is the Worldstone so important?

Thank you for your responses IF I get any. Also, I am kind of a layman so I may in the future make posts regarding items and whether they are "good". Although the game is over now and there's nothing to do, so it doesn't matter.

Ranking the towns by where I would hang out if I was an NPC.

Just spent 30 mins exploring every nook and cranny of each town. Pretty cool stuff that ive never noticed before. Ranking each one by where I would want to hang out most:

  1. Kurast - Would be worried about getting snatched off the bridge by one of those frog monsters. No thanks. Never noticed the dead one hanging up by the entrance.

  2. Rogue Encampment - Kinda like camping, but those walls dont scream safe to me. Hanging out with Charsi would be worth it tho and I would definitely attempt to find her missing hammer.

  3. Lut Gholein - would be at the bar for sure.

  4. Harrogath - Probably the coziest town. Malah's place is awesome and has pillows. Would be a nice spot to chill if you ignore the dying barbarians.

  5. Pandemonium Fortress - I would feel extra safe around tyrael and would try to become his friend. He probably has some wild stories. Also, i did big fireplaces. Just need to find a few chairs and i would be set.

Single Player Any way to show ethereal rares on the ground? (Single player)

Is there any mod or loot filter that can show when a rare item on the ground is ethereal? I always check rare items to see if they are ethereal before identifying, but it really slows down my farming. Is there any way to display whether an item on the ground is ethereal?

This is the first Call to Arms runeword that I made after returning to this game and since I started playing D2R and ROTW more than a couple of months ago. Even though is not perfect, is it still good enough? BC rolled really low, which bothers me a little and I don't have the wealth to make another one anytime soon.
