Local News Amendment 82 seems shady AF
Amendment 82 seems like a way for fossil fuel executives and shareholders to rake in even more profits, all while pretending to care about the little guy.
Why are we enshrining special protections for a for-profit industry into our state constitution?
Xcel Energy alone raked in hundreds of millions of dollars in net profits from fossil fuels in Colorado last year, and the year before that, and the year before that... and that's with the Public Utility Commission only allowing a portion of what they asked for. (And Xcel is actually one of the better ones in the industry. I'm so glad Denver at least has Xcel and not Black Hills or Atmos.)
It's weird that people think fossil fuel executives and shareholders will start caring about them and their bills if this passes, instead of scheming how they can use their new constitutional protection to get even more profits. Beyond building codes, what other health and safety regulations or zoning codes will they try to overturn?
They are trying to scare everyone into thinking if they don't vote for this, they won't have heat. They are trying to manipulate people into believing that natural gas is "clean, reliable, and affordable" when it's none of those. It's not that simple. Honestly, none of the other options are perfect or simple either -- but they do exist, they do work fine for a lot of Coloradoans, and they're not scheming for special favors enshrined in the constitution.
I've heard it compared to if Xfinity tried to get a "right to cable" into our state constitution.

Visiting DENVER bus system: Fantastic
I visited a for a few days in early October 2026 and decided my entire trip I would be using mass transit with Uber as a backup.
Downloaded the app at the airport and got right to the bustop at the airport. Smooth sailing, but i was exhausted (and completely baked) and missed my bustop, had to uber about a mile. BUT I learned a valuable lesson: always have google maps loaded with the bus route active to see your destination while moving. Once i got that going i was set for the rest if the trip.
It was super easy to buy my fares on the app and show the driver my ticket using my phone. I had to walk a little bit from bus stop to destinations, but Iām fit and it was absolutely no big deal to walk a few hundred feet to a bus stop near all destinations. The drivers were very friendly and so are all the other passengers. It felt really really groovy actually.
Anyway, shout out to all the staff that work hard to make your public transportation, pretty damn good.

Help Medical Clinic Malpractice⦠Maybe???
I recently started receiving spravato treatments from a clinic in South Denver. The whole process was a mess and the clinic was not nice about it. It was also very obvious that my medical information was being shared among staff which was uncomfortable.
My biggest concern is that I was not given any consent forms to sign until after my second dose of spravato. By that I mean they gave me two out of the three nasal sprays for my session and then handed me paperwork. I have no idea what I signed. Two days ago, I overslept and missed an appointment. They charged me $325, citing their financial agreement. I looked at said agreement- missed appointment fee is $100. Not really sure what to do with that.
My final issue is that after I paid the fee, I asked them to cancel all upcoming appointments and begin transfer of care- essentially I fired them. For whatever reason, I was asked by the pharmacy providing the spravato if I would like to approve the shipments before they went to the clinic. I said yes bc theyād been being weird for a while, but then today I got a notification that the medication had been delivered without my approval. Itās a heavily controlled substance so Iām not sure how that works, if they just dispose of it, but that would be annoying bc meds are expensive.
Anyways, my new clinic said that none of this sounds like the regular procedure, which is what I had thought (this is my third time doing spravato) so now Iām wondering if you fine folks can offer any insight š¤Ŗ
Oh also they started me at 84mg dosage which is unusual. Every induction period Iāve heard of starts at 54mg and then goes up from there. A little concerned about that too bc I have tachycardia which makes the spravato a little dicey to begin with.
