Techno coming solely from the Analog Rytm

Everything you hear is coming solely from the AR. No outboard gear, pedals or send effects are used. The audio you hear is recorded straight from the master output, so no limiting, processing or mastering happened.

Just wanted to demonstrate that you can create deep techno, that's already sounding good with the stock Analog Rytm. You don't extra mods or custom firmware. You need to put more time and effort into really getting to know the machine. Mods/cfw just distracts you and stops you from really getting to grips with the device, and ultimately from making music.

Played a live electronics drum and bass jungle set last week!

A mix of classic, aggressive, soulful and atmospherics.

A journey of sorts of all the influences and choons I heard in the early 90s to attending the events in the mid 90s to early 2000s.

A dedication to the sounds and friends of old!

Hi, After months of midi issues, since I bought it in fact, the MP7 is finally fixed. After all this time I was finally able to sit down with it and get some sound design going. So here's a little track featuring some pads and sounds I made with it.

I love this machine!

Not sure about the genre. I think we can call this melodic techno. It is made with hardware synth/samplers, mixed and mastered on computer. Hope you will appreciate it.

Live set practice

I have a couple of shows coming up and working on a set. For some reason I get a lot of noise coming out of the USB on my mixer, but it is what it is.

Fixed some unresponsive keys and soldered some wires back on. Now, if I could only get the smell out of it.

Techno Dawless jam #30

Hi mates,

I've just recorded this jam and I'd like to share it with the community. Just in case you're interested, I'd love to share any detail regarding the setup, patch or specific configuration. I was exploring a new patch on the Eurorack Modular Synth. This is one of my favourites sketches until now, tbh. Analog Rytm MK2 drives a non 4/4 beat, strongly inspired on flamenco patterns, while the modular synth delivers a melodic line. I am mostly playing with envelopes, feedback and blending layers to achieve a good hypnotic trip. The synth is finally sidechained via FMR RNL, taking advantage of the individual outputs from the AR MK2. Once recorded, I applied just a bit of corrective EQ on some unwanted resonances. Any feedback is also appreciated :)

Best hardware synth to pair with an SP-404MKII for lo-fi and boom bap? ($800 budget)

I’m looking to add a hardware synth to pair with my SP-404MKII (I also have a MPC Live 3 and I know i can make sounds on that but I’m planning on selling that soon). I mainly make lo-fi and boom bap and I want something that can add bass and leads etc.

My budget is around $800 and I’m currently considering the Korg Minilogue and Monologue but I’m open to other suggestions.

Any suggestions of what you guys use or recommend?

- Edit

Leaning towards the Minilogue XD module paired with a mini 37 keyboard for ultimate portability

Hello, here is a quick share from a short session. Some of the synths are driven via the NDLR by Conductive Labs. Sorry for the few notes wandering off the beat :)

After your instruments, where does the chain go?

So, I’m not a fan of having a daw going while I’m playing live. I’m curious what you all have going on after your instruments and before your speakers.

Currently, I’m using my 2 channel interface and running that into a power amp. I’m only using one synth with stereo outputs, so this works, but I want to expand. I’m looking at buying a drum machine or another synth. I’ll have to buy something with more inputs than my interface.

I’m curious what kind of set-ups other dawless people use.

(Btw the interface is just plugged into a power supply.)
