hello !! i'm transferring as a freshman for my second semester at csumb and i was wondering if anyone has already gotten their roommates or are still waiting. i'm lowkey nervous about this because it seems like i'd be getting randoms instead of choosing since the housing roommate website isn't really helpful. i'm trying to get into a triple so its like double the difficulty lol

Hey all, first gen prospective student hoping to get some real numbers from other students with a -1500 SAI on how much financial aid to actually expect.

All the different sources i.e. Pell Grant, Cal Grant, CSUMB itself, and other scholarships is a little confusing and I'm hoping to know how much total aid I should actually be expecting to receive.

I know I’m supposedly eligible for the full $7300 Pell Grant which is already most of CSUMB tuition, but how much more I get from other sources on TOP of that (if any?) could make a huge difference in my plans regarding housing etc.

Would love if anyone would be willing to share exactly how much aid, and from what sources, you actually get per year.

My daughter is looking to transfer to a 4 year school. She's autistic and I think would need support if she leaves our area. (Santa Cruz.) CLE works with autistic students at various schools including CSUMB. I haven't been able to find out much about it and it's impossible to search for reviews, so I'm hoping to find people who have any experience with it.

A call has been made, but I was told there’s “not much they do to impose on wildlife” and that this was the main place to call. It’s been the same when people have called about other situations, so whichever way it goes, I guess.

I just hope to spread a little awareness about how quickly these animals can get hurt, especially when I just saw a handful of cars going so fast toward the wilderness he came out of.

I know there's a music building on campus, but I was wondering if there are any practice rooms that non-music majors can use? If so, are they open to all students, and would I need to reserve one or get permission to use them? Thanks!

Why is it 140 dollars for orientation?? My friends go to other colleges and theirs were free. I wouldn’t be that mad if it was a reasonable price but $140 is crazy.

What about the labs that come with many of the classes… does it feel like your taking a whole other 3 unit class or does it feel like the 1 unit? I would be open to any suggestions :)

Monterey bay is on my list, and I don't know if CSUMB is a good idea. I am a kinesiology major (Want to use that to be a physical therapist) and looking for a school that will fulfill my kinesiology degree the best. Like I don't want to go to a CSU that has a bad program, so it stunts my career. I like to go out and be social so I would compare a CSU to SDSU, and I don't know if CSUMB is like that. I could go to SDSU, but I want to leave SoCal, and I don't know if I'm making a bad choice by leaving to CSUMB. Let me know?

hi everyone! i’m transferring in the spring along with my best friend, and we’ve just been told after doing housing apps that we aren’t going to be able to use the roommate app to find roomates because we don’t get access to our csumb emails until housing decisions are announced. the housing dept simply told us to find another way to find roommates, but obviously neither of us know anyone at school yet, so uhhhhh help?? here’s a bit about us!

we’re both transferring from sacramento city college, and i’ve heard that housing is a disaster, but if anyone in promontory/ec happens to have a room or two they need filled or know a guy! please lmk! any help here would be sooo appreciated, this is all really confusing and stressful!

Anybody else noticing problems with the housing department at CSUMB? Whenever I try to contact them, it feels like I’m reaching out to an abandoned ghost town where one tour guide is expected to run the whole place. It seems like nobody wants to take responsibility for the department or actually address student concerns.
The RAs don’t seem to do enough, room checks for safety haven’t happened once this semester, and overall it feels like housing is being overly neglected.

Please be careful if you are a woman or student using the public transit. I was harassed yesterday with my other girlfriend and the man seemed like he got off to getting weirded out reactions. Bring self protection qnd stay aware please please ladies! Our guy friend had been there arguing with him, idk what we would’ve done without him😞

i’m a beginner skater looking to find people who may be help in mentoring and teaching and just be company while I learn how to do things on my own. I’m a freshman here on campus

This may sound stupid, but does anyone know when this scholarship will be distributed? The remaining balance I have is meant to be covered by it but it has yet to be distributed. So I’m worried about how it’ll affect my ability to register for class. Is there someone I can reach out to? How would I even go about doing so?

I’m currently a senior and I want to go to ucs but my gpa is stoping me, I was thinking of originally going to hartnell but my parents are against and tell me all sorts of thing which piss me off . I wanted to go for my 2 years then transfer to a Uc of my choice but they’re so against that. But besides that I wanted to go there and transfer to a Uc for neuroscience or anything to do with that. I’m really lost and idk what to do tbh any tips could help
