Scandal Don't be fooled by Dessies!

Went to Dessies in Little island to get a price on two tires, I was asked do I want mid-range or Premium to which I replied budget, the staff looked at me and stated "We don't sell budget tyres, just mid-range and up". So out of curiosity when I got the price per tyre I asked what the brand was, Austone was their reply. After a brief moment of silence and awkward eye contact I asked him since when were Austone mid-range tyres, they've been budget as long as I can remember. His response was "I'm just reading what the computer says".....

People, please stop letting these assholes get away with selling you cheap shit for premium prices. Call them out. These deceptive tactics of making people believe they're getting something better than they are is nuts. Not to mention these guys wanted 130 a piece for those garbage tires and 45 for front wheel tracking, place down the road quoted 90 per tyre and 25 for tracking, were clear about the brand and not trying to sell Chinese shit for twice what its worth.

Traffic is bad

Worst traffic I've seen in a long time! Stuck in the car nearly 20mins and no sign of movement

Joining Rochestown road coming from kinsale roundabout. Douglas exits were just as bad

Just adding to this. You cannot get to the top of Maryborough hill and drop onto the link road. The road stops just before it

Hi. Signed up for Just-Eat as a delivery person a while back. You know. To earn money for something called food. But Just-Eat want 25 euros for the bag. And i'd like to give it a go and try before i by one and notice that it's not for me.

I honestly don't know how it works, but.

There's a deliveroo guy in the house. But imagine showing up with the wrong logo, right?

Network Cable Drops in House

Can anyone recommend someone/somewhere that can quote me on some network point installations in my house?

Not a new build and not a renovation either, just looking for someone that knows how to properly run cable from the attic to a few locations.

Midleton/Cloyne

Thanks

Dinner after registry office wedding

We are getting married early next year in the registry office. It’ll be a small gathering of us and our parents and little girl. Where is a nice spot to go afterwards for a nice meal and a little glass of bubbles to celebrate?

Where can you buy Ó Conaills chocolate nowadays?

I miss it something fierce but when I go down home I can never find it. The last spot I saw it was the SuperValu in Crosshaven but I don't often have a reason to be there.

Dentists

• Upvotes

Lads I’m in shear desperation but have a massive fear of dentists. I love my one but he’s obviously off for the weekend. On anti inflammatories, antibiotics and also have taken paracetamol for a tooth that needs a root canal. And the pain goes from a dull pain to intense pain across my jaw and into my ear.

I’m thinking of contacting smiles dentist on Oliver plunkett street tomorrow. Does anyone have any experience with them?

Cut timber in cork

Hi all.

I want to get some timber cut to specific lengths to finish a Halloween project but I'm having a lot of difficulty finding anywhere to do it that isn't insanely expensive. I went to b&q because it was just inside my budget but they said their saw was out of order.

I have a small car so can't transport long uncut wood and am disabled so I'm hoping not to have to cut it myself (I did some earlier in the project and nearly collapsed multiple times)

Popes Quay Court Apartments - thoughts?

Thinking of buying in Popes Quay Court and wondered if anyone has any experience living in the building.

https://www.daft.ie/for-sale/19-popes-quay-court-popes-quay-cork-city-centre-co-cork/6698024

Have heard there's issues with damp and leaks between apartments and windows. Don't know how responsive the management company is.

Thanks :)

Parking this weekend? High rise car parks? park and ride?

I'd imagine the car parks in town would be too full? Is it still easy to use the park and ride or would that fill up too?
