We survived another round in the kiln.
Be nice. Don't be a dick.

Trying something new. This thread will be the catch all for buying/selling/promotion for stuff. Same rules apply as everywhere else.
The only major rule change is that drop shipping or products of that ilk are not allowed. If you see something suspicious, report it. I will see it.

A bust I’m currently sculpting without using any references. My initial idea was simply to create a head looking upward, with an ambiguous expression of ecstasy.
I ended up developing it intuitively, without following any particular model or artwork.
I still need to refine the eyes, finish the ears (and maybe adjust their position a little, I’m not sure yet), and work a bit more on the mouth. I’m also debating whether to add hair or leave it as it is.
What do you all think?

Curious what would cause this to happen.
This is a relatively new shelf (maybe 10 firings) - typically I don’t use it as a bottom shelf since I have a larger round one that’s normally the bottom. This is actually the second of this shelf brand that has broken in this exact way. I have small posts in the bottom to elevate the shelf - is there a problem with this? Or are some shelves not designed to be the bottom?
Other than these two shelves this hasn’t ever happened - I typically do 2 firings a week and haven’t had this issue. The first shelf broke on its first firing and the company sent me a replacement. Shelf is https://www.theceramicshop.com/product/15836/kiln-shelf-hollow-core-25-full/
Will just be using it as half shelves but I would love to be able to stop this from happening again 😓

Hi the last I did pottery was in college and now that I live in an apartment, I was hoping to get back into it since I was gifted clay recently. I heard that the dust is unsafe to breathe so I was wondering if it is totally not recommended or if I should get an air purifier? I also saw videos where people try to be careful and clean their area with a wet sponge, but they didn't seem to know what they were doing and I've seen youtubers do stuff like resin in a non-ventilated area without a mask etc.

Hello! Super nervous to put my work on the internet for the world to see so bear with me, lol. I finished this monarch vase recently and love it! The man who runs the local studio says I should sell my work but I have no idea how to assign a fair value to a piece. This one specifically has gotten a fair bit of interest but I have no idea about pricing SO…
What would you charge for something like this?
It has 7 total butterflies painted with underglaze.
Thank you so much for any of the feedback!

I’m so happyy, I am not new to sculpting as I finished art school, but my first time actually firing and glazing! I’m so relieved it didn’t crack and worked out :3

My coffee mug has a crack on both sides. Is it fixable? If so, how would I go about repairing it?
I got this cup on a trip to Japan a few years ago, and I’d really rather not part with it if it can be repaired.

What is your recipe or soap solution that you buy to put in your mop bucket when you are washing your floors? I use a regular rope mop, which I take to the laundromat and have extra heads for. Each time I go to mop I feel like I’m just relocating the dust and creating thick streaks.
