He knows when it's Thursday, gets very excited and runs into the play area without looking back. Plays with Bertie, Baxter & Toby most of all and runs for kisses when we pick him up at the end of the day.

To be honest, only two on that bed is mine. The others belong to mother.

I don’t know WHY. but those dogs insist on sleeping with me, every single time I visit family!!

So yeah, I don’t sleep well. 😅

Advice New Cavalier owner

We are getting a Cavalier puppy in a couple of weeks (through a researched, KCCS kennel approved breeder).

And while I've had dogs my entire life, I'm nervous about getting such a "delicate" dog.

So here are my questions.

What are your favorite training treats? The breeder mentioned that we have to be vigilant in maintaining a healthy weight so I want to make sure I don't get a fattening treat but one tasty enough to be a good training tool.

Which harness would you recommend? I was looking at the Cavology harness but if there is a better one I'm open to hearing recommendations.

What brushes do you recommend and do you do the grooming yourself?

I think that's all for now!

Thanks!

Advice Cav thinks my son’s blankets are his.

Looking for some advice!!

My first born, Blenheim 12 yo boy, believes my second born, 7 week old baby boys play mat and blankets are his. I try to redirect my pup to his bed/blankets but to no avail. I think he is a little bit jealous as we spend a lot of time with baby on those mats. I do my best to pick him up and snuggle him when baby is occupied or with his Dad but I wonder if the jealousy/ wanting more attention is leading him to lay on babys mats even though I say no/move him?

Any ideas how to curb this habit? I keep washing the mats and blankets constantly so they’re clean for baby but I turn around and my pup has already commandeered them. Perhaps I buy my cav some new blankets or a new bed?

Edit: sons (I have mom brain)

Advice East Coast Breeder Fall/Winter ‘27

Does anyone have a breeder focused on the health of the dog that has puppies available between now and March 2027? I am looking to bring another dog into my home to join my very sweet Golden who loves little dogs and is in need of a companion.

Thank you in advance!

Discussion I saw people talking about car seats and wanted to share how we secure Delilah

If I were to use the given instructions, I’d need to loop the back, bottom corner to the seat which still leaves my baby flying around the inside of the car.

In this manner, I clipped her in but then put the lap belt over her straps and retract them fully so that it locks. This way if there’s an accident she has much less chance of swinging about the cabin.

What are your thoughts?
