Rumor [Friedman] The Hellebuyck saga is coming to an end
Is he on his way to Raleigh?

We have had back-to-back certified Canes After Dark games this week. We saw a little bit of everything tonight in this ceazy game and guys getting on the board all over the place. Stanky and Blake doing their thing. The Fastest Fish in the East. Välimäki with a goal and a point streak, Jarvis finding his way to the highlight reel in his first game back. A shootout. Whew.
But alas, it was not meant to be. Canes fall 6-5 in the shootout. Onto St. Louis!
⭐️ R. Nugent-Hopkins: 1G, 1A
⭐️⭐️ L. Draisaitl: 2G, 3A
⭐️⭐️⭐️ C. McDavid: 2G, 3A

Not sure what the right flair was, but I figured my fellow Caniacs would appreciate this. I thought it was hilarious honestly.

This article from the Athletic talking about how assistant coaches for the knicks didn't get championship rings on opening night and then front office employees got a simulated phishing email about choosing a championship ring style. The complaints about Dundon are fair but holy smokes James Dolan is setting the bar low.

A trio of stories in one!
The storyline (Seth Jarvis), the controversy (someone was grinning about it), and of course, the recap (with clips)! Enjoy!

now when Bussi starts I feel like it's going to be a tough game, just like last season with Andersen. Haha :)
ETA: I know I'm going to get flamed for this!

Hey friends! I'll be moving to Columbus next week and was looking for a place to watch the Canes/CBJ game on the 29th. Couldn't find any Caniac Bars, but was curious if there were any fellow Caniacs around so we could catch the game somewhere together.
Our family is starting fresh and I will take all the new friends I can get! 🙏

Pagnotta just reported we tried to get an extension done with Chatty before the season but couldn’t agree on terms. Says Chatty will likely go to free agency. Sucks to think about losing such a big piece but at least we have so many NHL ready guys in the AHL.

Eight wins in our last nine, six goals against Vancouver, and we're getting contributions from absolutely everywhere. Blakers had three assists, Fly and Stankoven each buried two, DLo apparently decided being an enforcer wasn't keeping him busy enough, and now for the better news: JARVY MIGHT BE BACK!?!
He's been activated and could make his season debut tonight, which would be one hell of a boost with Staal, Hall, and Janks still out. Unfortunately, Edmonton is 7-1-1 and McDavid appears to be playing NHL 26 on rookie difficulty. Let's give him a little reality check and grab two more road points. GET EKOW!!!!

Apparently he might be available.
He is has the potential and could fit in very well if he buys in to our system.
Low risk, low cost likely move with loads of potential.
He's also more of a small town background from Russia, similar to Svechnikov and Kotchetkov. Iow, he's another anti-Nikishin. (good)
He is huge at 6'5 decent speed, once he gets going (similar but not nearly as fast as Eric Robinson). He is hard to get off the puck once he gets going and plays an elite puck possession/cycle game down low in the offensive zone. He definitely has and has shown offensive upside. Good on tip ins and redirects.
It would also benefit indirectly the Nikishin situation and give us more overal leverage in the future.
Players like him tend to succeed with our org because our identity is well entrenched. 9+ seasons and that's what happens. Players find where they fit in to the existing system. More often than not, be it reclamation, be it late round scouted diamonds, be it journeyman - players with the right attitude tend to find their place and thrive here.
So all that potential, some home town comfort and similar dna (not a me first guy)...
Worst case... it doesn't work, we didn't give up too much and its a low cap impact since he's RFA after next season's end. That gives us this season and beginning of next season to see if both player and org are a fit. If they are, we can leverage his down season maybe on a bridge deal that brings him in line with our core and contractual identity too. His current AAV is a decent 4.1 mil. Its not unforseen for this to work out and we can bridge him for 3-4 more years next season anywhere between 3-5 million.
Ok armchair gm mode OFF.
Thoughts?

What kind of concrete do you get in your Jarvy cup from Goodberry's?
