Unpopular Opinion: coffee with sugar and fat is healthier than black coffee.

When drinking black coffee without sugar or milk, the body’s demand for glucose increases because caffeine speeds up metabolism. Therefore, if the body is not supplied with the readily available energy it needs, it will release adrenaline and cortisol. Adding sugar will significantly reduce the release of those stress hormones.
Fat slows down the absorption of caffeine into the body and reduces the coffee’s acidity.

Is plain black coffee better than energy drinks? And why or why not?

I’m really curious I know this question gets asked a ton but I really wanna know recently I’ve swapped from 2-3 monsters a day to 2-3 cups of black coffee. I feel like I get more jittery with coffee but I don’t crash as hard. Is this a better swap why or why not?

Guys what do you feel in the morning when you wake up until you sleep in the evening and do you drink coffee or power through the day without it? I want what you guys do in detail because I like to listen to everyone’s story in detail

For those of you that drink coffee/caffeine every day, do you still feel the energy boost?

I have been on a caffeine schedule where I only consume caffeine 3 days a week. 2 days a week is pre workout, and 1 day is coffee. I feel AMAZING on those days. But, typically the day after, particularly the day after preworkout, I feel so sluggish, irritable, and have a headache. I’m so busy at work and caffeine sounds amazing on my off days lol

TLDR- I love caffeine, is there any reason not to drink coffee every day I don’t take my pre workout?

Random question about energy drinks

Curious to hear the responses from the members on this thread…

Would you want/ try an energy drink/Alani with less caffeine let’s say around 60-80mg, as opposed to a regular energy drink.

I ask as many people just drink energy drinks for the flavour and to have something to sip on, but often are not a fan of the high caffeine and jitters. However, something like a Poppi or Ice or soda does not have the same chemically acidic taste and kick that people love from energy drinks.

Sometimes when I’m studying or at school I don’t want a 140 or 200mg energy drinks, just a pick me up.

Why does caffeine sometimes make life feel colourful, hopeful, and almost unreal?

Okay, this might sound weird, but does anyone else experience this?

I don't normally consume caffeine at all. No tea, no coffee, mostly because I don't wanna get addicted to it. But I do occasionally drink a White Monster or take pre-workout before working out, and holy shit, the difference in how I feel is insane sometimes.

It's not just energy or feeling awake. It's like someone injected hope straight into my veins. All the depressing thoughts, lack of motivation, not wanting to talk to anyone or do anything, all of that just disappears for a while. Everything feels fine, everything feels cool, life feels colourful, music hits differently, and sometimes I can genuinely happy-cry just from my own thoughts. I suddenly feel like calling random people, asking how they've been, starting conversations with strangers, doing things I've been putting off, going for a run, etc.

And the weird thing is, it doesn't even seem to depend on whether I'm working out. I can take caffeine and just sit around doomscrolling, and I'll still feel that initial rush. But if I actually start doing things, like working out, running, calling someone, or getting stuff done, it feels like the feeling keeps building and building. It's almost like a loop where the adrenaline and dopamine keep feeding into each other, and suddenly I have all this motivation and hope that I didn't have before.

I've had this feeling last for hours, with the longest being around 12 hours after one White Monster, although that was while I kept myself busy and active. Eventually, when I stop doing things, the feeling wears off, and I get this heavy, drained feeling, sometimes almost like I'm a little feverish.

I have ADHD, so I wonder if that has something to do with it, or if this is just how caffeine affects some people. I only consume it occasionally, and I don't exceed 350 mg in a day.

But seriously, is this what caffeine feels like for everyon Does everyone get this sudden feeling of hope, happiness

emotional intensity, and wanting to actually LIVE their life? Or am I experiencing something different?

And this is probably a stupid comparison, haha, but is this remotely what opioids or other drugs feel like for people? Not the same effects necessarily, but that feeling of suddenly being okay with everything and feeling like life is beautiful?

I'm genuinely curious about what's happening in my brain when this happens.

Really need help on how to maximize my caffeine intake with limited options

All i have is coffee grounds and amino energy (100 mg each servings). I really hate the taste of both but cant afford to go out and buy anything. How do i get around the amount of two monsters out of this while tasting the least? Or making it taste more like Monster ultra blue, viking berry, or the regular white one?

How much caffeine have you ever drank

I drank 640 mg of caffeine in less than 2 hours basically chugged 4 Monsters.
I know that might not sound like a lot to some people, but I drank them way too quickly. I honestly don’t know what I was thinking. I’d finish one can, then open another one literally 2 minutes later.
Now my heart is beating like crazy, my back fucking hurts, and standing up feels like a whole mission. It feels like my heart is a hydraulic press or something.
As I’m writing this I’m genuinely scared something is going to happen to my heart. I’ve made this mistake before and I really don’t know why I did it again.
Has anyone else experienced something like this after drinking way too much caffeine?

This is not medical advice these are my personal symptom’s

Caffeine sources

I go between coffee and green tea and quitting totally. I used to smash energy drinks too much years ago so I quit.

What's your favourite caffeine source if U could only pick one to have and why ? And what would be your daily dose U would set

Over caffeinated crying

Sometimes, I get overcaffeinated and overstimulated, and when something even remotely emotional happens, I basically almost break down into tears. I mean, I get I could just take less caffeine, but I probably won't.

I feel like an old wise man with a secret recipe, all because of my daily milk tea.

I honestly feel like an old Chinese man who holds all the ancient wisdom and secret recipes, just because I have this quick milk tea recipe that I've perfected. It’s so specific that I don't even use regular sugar; I use a very specific, dedicated type of sweetener.

I’ve been maintaining this exact routine for years now. If I go even a single day without it, I genuinely suffer from a temporary lack of passion and a wave of sadness. But the moment I finally take that first sip, I can feel the life literally rushing back into me.

Does anyone else have a daily drink or a tiny routine that completely controls their mood like this?

Is it normal ?

So I was a heavy coffee/caffeine consumer. Around 400–500 mg idk 1 latte and 2–3 long blocks. I drink this much coffee because I like it. So I am a clg student and, of course, I live in a different city for education. So every 1–2 months I go home for around a week. And have a vacation of 40–50 days after every semester. So during those days I never miss my coffee (sometimes) idk why. And for a few months I didn’t consume coffee. And i heard people didn’t get good sleep after consuming coffee. For me, this never happens. Yesterday I drank great delicious black so I stayed awake and studied for exams. I felt sleepy, but my vision got clearer. I get asleep within an hour. And trust me, this is one of the best sleeps I had. Should I quit it or is it it ok to have it? I don’t drink coffee for its benefits. I drank because I liked it.

Anybody think there's a chance that there are coca alkaloids left in Coca Cola that change the stimulant effects of the caffeine somehow? NSFW

I notice I get a different effect from different beverages and I notice something different with Coke compared to other sodas. It's more smooth and pleasant. Maybe one of their secrets is the "flavorings" modulating the psychoactive effects?

TRIP and their ‘CALM’ claims

Has anyone actually felt calmer after drinking TRIP?

I’ve tried it a few times and genuinely couldn’t tell any difference. Obviously that’s just my experience, but it got me looking into what they’re actually allowed to claim.

Turns out the ASA ruled against TRIP in 2025 over claims like “crafted for calm”, “help you feel calm” and “promote feelings of calm”. TRIP apparently removed those claims at the time.

But look at the website now and there’s still loads of language around “More Relaxed”, “find your calm”, “help you relax, unwind and find balance”, “100+ million calm moments delivered” and even a “Calming Variety Pack”.

I understand they contain things like magnesium and adaptogens, but there’s a big difference between saying magnesium supports normal psychological function and suggesting that drinking a can is actually going to make you calmer.

Am I missing something here? Has anyone had a noticeable effect from TRIP, or is most of the “calm” feeling coming from very clever branding?

Full disclosure: I run a small drinks business myself, so I probably pay more attention to drinks marketing claims than the average person.
