Boating help
This is my dads boat and it’s been in the family for years. Almost none of the electronics work or any safety equipment. I’ve slowly been getting everything in working order and keep coming across real head scratchers. At some point the transom was repaired with a welded plate on the exterior nothing interior that I can find. The ugly bubbly spots are me with some metal filler on some corrosion then paint over it but keep getting these white little strings that come through all the work I did. My main concern here though is where do I plumb the bilge pump to? I have now realized that it is currently plumbed to the live well tank but there’s no holes anywhere in the boat except a live well drain. The story my dad has always told us was that it used to be an old fwc (Florida wildlife commission) boat. I don’t know where else to plumb the bilge to or the aerator except to drill holes correct? Any helpful criticism would be greatly appreciated as I am learning all of this stuff. Sorry for the long post.
TLDR: help me find where to plumb the bilge to/from

Advice on cable management
This is the only location on this boat that cables can be ran through. There was some used to be plastic tucked in there but I needed to rewire everything and it was hard as a rock. So I’m trying to replace it. The only thing I found was this trim insert for rvs and can’t find anything bigger I have searched and searched but maybe the internet can help me here. Any help would be appreciated

Poll: Gold or Chrome
I need to replace emblems and registration number on the boat this winter. What's the hive mind think? Gold or Chrome?

Any suggestions on where to start with this?
Just picked up a project board. It was in worse condition than I though when I arrived to pick it up…

The most expensive (free) boat. (Photo old, but same boat, coated and now in water) "ready to sail" -Should I?
Sellers Ad:
Once beautiful 1959 Hinckley classic boat with timeless lines and legendary craftsmanship in need of TLC.
THIS IS A PROJECT BOAT. PICS were taken in 2023 when bottom was sanded to bare wood to show hull condition. CABIN TOP IS IN NEED OF REPAIR. Engine runs. Sails are in great shape.
Vessel is in water and ready to be sailed away. [This means bottom coat wa completed 3 years ago. No current photos]
Features:
1959 Hinckley classic wooden boat
John Alden Design built by Hinckley
Solid hull and structure
Clean title/documentation
LOA - 42'
Draft - 4'6
Should I do it? If just the cabin top (roof of cabin) needs repaired... I'm up for that. If the entire cabin above the deck line needs fixed... I'd be hosed.
Also, if it's an old raw water cooled engine, hosed. Newer closed loop, game on.
TL/DR: the boat of my dreams is "free" and "ready to sail" but could need x1-x3 it's value to be 100%
There's no way I could put more than 20k in it.
Thoughts?

Should I buy this boat?
here’s a 2012 wss242 cobalt for sale for 45k o ly 400 hours. Winterization for free and free two year engine warranty. All maintenance has been done and a new trailer with it. Good deal? What’s everyone’s thoughts? I’d be financing it at 9.44%. Of course I’d make extra payments I just want the lowest payments in case I have a bad month or year. Being conservative about it.

2010 Four Winns 224 Funship
Trying to put new flooring down on the boat. Everything I’m finding is just for a 07-08. Every company keeps sending me the same layout which looks very similar just not sure. Anyone here have the same boat and replaced the flooring? If so what did you use?

Fuel tank vent
Hi friends,
I recently got my first boat from a family member, I have very little experience with boats to begin with, so forgive me if this is a stupid question.
Motor had issues only after a few outings. The shop found out it’s salt water contaminating fuel from a missing fuel tank vent. I tried looking online but couldn’t find any that would seem to fit what’s on my boat. Are there vents that would screw on like in the picture.
Thanks in advance!

How to make 3-phase boat work with single phase marina power?
Does anyone have any advice how to do this?
3-phase berths are 20m (boat 16m) and double the price. They want to move me there.
Is there any way to keep Genset 3-phase and also make the boat work with single phase marina power?
I am noobie, excuse me if I left details out. Boat has 86,000 btu A/cs (4 total). Houseboat.
NOTE: I have already called electricians for this. But I want to be be informed about the choices I have.
Thanks!

Got some drone shots of my boat!
Hope y’all enjoy some of these. I made a full video with it too, but can’t post it with the pics. At least it doesn’t look like a $5,000 boat from up there😂😂

Boat on a 3kish budget
I'm looking for a cheap bass boat to get into boating, with a budget of around $3k. I'm seeing some older bass boats in that range. Is that a good way to start out? I'm just trying to figure out what's worth it at my price point. I see a lot of older boats and some jon boats as well at 3k. I don’t want a kayak I already have one and looking to boat on a budget
Is something like this worth it if the motor checks out? I’ll just be lake fishing.

Anxiety while in kind of shallow water - some questions
I'm mostly in Biscayne Bay intercoastal, I have a 2000 Cobia 204 all my boating experiences growing up was on glacier lakes that are super deep. Also this is the first boat I've owned so damaging it hurts more!
Most of this Bay is between 4 and 10 ft deep it seems tide depending, and get down to two feet and some obvious areas. Even when I'm in 4 ft of water I get nervous that there's going to be a shallow spot. I might be looking at the charts wrong I'm never flying around I'm just cruising looking for spots to fish or relax. I understand how much my boat drafts and how shallow it can go logically but when I'm out under way outside of the channel markers it feels like any moment I'm going to hit high spot.
I see people ripping all over the place not just with jet skis or little jet boats but all sorts of monster boats, I'm sure they've been doing it a long time and they understand what is where. Is there chart I can download that shows more consistently the high spots and spots to avoid in my area? I'm not sure the exact Garmin I have but it's removable it's like 9" has a plus and minus button on the right side with some memory settings possibly. I need to spend more time with it. I mostly keep it on the topographical chart while I'm out.
Also the spots where there's a lot of grass freak me out, the chart will say it's 6 ft deep and then the depth finder is going crazy. Any advice would be super helpful, I'm not really a go to the bars or restaurants kind of boater, I want to go out and find little cool spots, go down camping in the keys stuff like that.

Saltwater Damage Repair
Hey all, last season took a brutal toll on my Lund 1625 XL Fury and I’m looking to do some repairs on the salt corrosion. Most of the corrosion is on the stern, some of the paint has come completely off and some of its bubbling but will be peeling soon. Any tips, processes, products or helpful YouTube videos I can follow to fix her up this winter? Ideally would repaint with matching color but boat is old enough where the aesthetics are not a priority. Located in PNW if that makes a difference.
Thanks in advance!
