Edit to add: I’m not necessarily looking for lessons etc. I’m looking for something I could do hands on, free experience.
Hi everyone! 🐴❤️ I’ve (29F) always dreamed of having land with horses and other animals someday. A little rescue of sorts! I’d love to start learning about horses now.
I have no experience yet, but I’d love to learn basic horse care, grooming, riding, and possibly volunteer at a stable or rescue that welcomes beginners. 🫶
please only suggest places from personal experience or someone that’s vouched for them
Does anyone know of good places, or are you an individual with horses around Bloomington or southern Indiana who might be willing to help me get started? I’d really appreciate any recommendations! 😊

Police car pulled up at Hadley Village Apartments just now. Policeperson walked up to one of the apartments and knocked. Didn’t appear urgent. Left after no answer. Any news about what could be going on around the area…?

The City of Bloomington Utilities (CBU) will host the first public meeting for the Clear Creek Corridor Renewal Project on Thursday, October 29, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Switchyard Park Pavilion, 1601 S. Rogers St.
The meeting will provide community members with an opportunity to learn more about the Clear Creek Corridor Renewal Project (CCCRP), meet members of the project team, and offer input as CBU begins the feasibility and design process for the project.
CBU hired Christopher B. Burke Engineering, LLC on August 14, 2026, to conduct the project’s feasibility study and preliminary design. The project is intended to address aging stormwater infrastructure while improving drainage, reducing urban flood risks, and enhancing water quality along the Clear Creek channel south of W 1st Street.
The CCCRP will explore the transformation of a century-old limestone channel into a more natural-looking stream corridor to improve how stormwater moves through the area and help filter runoff to improve water quality. The project encompasses downtown Bloomington and surrounding portions of the Clear Creek channel and builds on previous efforts such as the Hidden River Pathway and Clear Creek Culvert Reconstruction projects that both worked to address aging infrastructure and long-standing flooding concerns throughout the Clear Creek watershed.
In addition to improving water quality and stormwater resilience, the project will explore opportunities to support economic development by creating an inviting, connected corridor that can enhance surrounding properties, encourage investment, and strengthen connections between downtown and nearby neighborhoods.
“Public input on a project like this is essential. While the core mission of the CCCRP is to address our aging stormwater infrastructure and reduce localized flooding, we recognize that this holds a lot of opportunity for change in the surrounding corridor and for the people living and working nearby,” said Utilities Director Katherine Zaiger. “We want to make sure that these decisions are made with community members."
CBU invites residents, businesses, and property owners to join the conversation on October 29 and help guide the project as feasibility and design work begins. Those unable to attend can reach out to Beth Clarizia, Senior Project Manager with Christopher B. Burke Engineering, LLC, at [bclarizia@cbbel-in.com](mailto:bclarizia@cbbel-in.com) to learn more about the project and share questions or feedback.

Nearly got into a collision while driving westbound through there earlier today, and then got yelled at by the other driver and their passenger (who were northbound).
My understanding was the intersection is an all-way stop (with the complicated layer of bikes and peds added on top, but there were none at this time). So if northbound traffic is going first, east/westbound traffic wait for both lanes to clear and then proceed through the intersection. Then the next wave of northbound traffic goes, etc.
That’s what I thought was supposed to happen. I stopped at the sign, northbound traffic who got there first entered and proceeded through the intersection, and then when I entered the intersection the next northbound wave also at started entering the intersection.
does Indiana not work like an all-way stop sign because it has two lanes? is it more like only east/west-bound have stop signs?

I'm sure this will go nowhere but I can't even get myself to sleep right now.
My mom bought a new house on the west side. Super fixer upper. The back door was broken and she needed a good amount of time and repair before she could move in.
Long story short she did move in things she thought weren't too valuable... junk from the old garage, some tools, and lots of boxes of old paperwork, broken electronics, and forgotten projects.
Someone did, sadly, break into her house and new garage there. They seemed to take nothing of true importance as there wasn't much there. Some tools, a box of broken old electronics yadda yadda. And they left a large pile of junk in her garage. She did report this but nothing could be done. We just kinda excepted it until now when she discovered that they had also taken her childhood baby book. Which is irreplaceable and feels so cruel.
If anyone has a family member who's come home with a vintage baby book... or there's any advice. Or if by some chance the person who has it is reading this we'd really love to have it back somehow.
The pile of stuff is now gone so whoever took her stuff came back for it, there was no wifi to put up any cameras.
If anyone has leads or thoughts that would be lovely.

Not Medicaid eligible. Plans on Marketplace leave much to be desired. Where are you buying health insurance?

Hello all. I was wondering which senior living or nursing homes were doing trick or treating in our area. I saw Magestic was doing something. Anyone know of any others?
