On the Patreon commentaries, I feel like whenever they're deciding what food to order, they inevitably opt for "the sandwich place", like to the point where I suspected trying to decide was a bit because they always choose "the sandwich place".

I assumed they just called it "the sandwich place" to avoid self-doxxing, but in the Ocean's 12 ep not only do they say the name, David yells it after Griffin forgets a couple times: La Panineria.

As a sandwich connoisseur I must say, it looks alright. I believe I would enjoy many of their sandwiches.

Get Charli on the pod!

so much of the film is building up to a Brett Favre cameo and reveal.

While he has remained a iconic player and is vaguely still relevant it is always weird to rewatch and see how much buildup and vague mystery there is throughout to Marys previous boyfriend Brett, leading to the final set piece where he walks in. I imagine in 1999 it got a significant reaction, but definitely is more muted today.

beyond that the film is nearly perfect and holds up quite well. Maybe could have a few minutes trimmed to tighten it up still undeniably funny throughout

Hideo Kojima

I know David has played some of the games but just give Griffin a compilation of all the cutscenes with no gameplay context

I want this. I need this. I want to hear griffin try to make sense of Death Stranding

Eh? Eh?

I'm trying to find a Zemeckis movie. A guy at the bank was telling a loud, long, elaborate story about how he was a crew member but drafted into appearing in a Zemeckis movie. It happens sometimes especially if it is short notice/happens on the fly.

He described someone coming around a corner and coming upon a mail carrier with a huge bag of mail.

I'm just wondering which movie this might be and I don't recall this scene. He was very worked up and he also went on and on about James Cameron. I wonder what the bank teller said to cue the anecdote. I'm guessing they won't say it again though.

edit:

this is from todays episode of Doughboys w/Zouks

The Elordi/O'Connell bit comes from The Hollywood Reporter. The link here goes to Deadline, which agrees with THR about those three finalists in the header. There's apparently a fourth possibility still floating out there, though?

So of the three that are still in it - who ya got?

I think everyone kinda wants Lowden, I don't think too many people want Turner, but I think O'Connor would be BY FAR the most interesting choice here. I personally thought O'Connell was the no-brainer here, but what do I know. Either he wasn't that serious about it, or they didn't wanna give him the bag.
