Not gonna lie, this whole thing pisses me off.
So as you can see, a player is hurt on the field, medical personnel is helping him. A team trainer comes running in and shoves #5 Kimari Robinson out of the way. He pushes her hand away in some "fuck off me though!" manner.
Folks on the internet have lost their shit... you'd swear he beat her within half an inch of her life let them tell it.
The level of gaslighting that we have to endure every day is insane!
He's checking up on his player, as a concerned player does. She had plenty of space to get to him, and if not telling him to back up would have sufficed. She shoved him aside and he reacted instinctively.
Like most things everyone ignores the initial offense and pretends he just swatter her hand away in a vacuum.
What makes this worse is how stuff like this justifies racism under the guise of feminism. People in the comments are saying the usual bullshit like "he must be a domestic abuser" or "you must support DV if you are siding with him." Some are calling for his suspension or expulsion!
To me, shit like this looks like the usual white entitlement we have dealt with for the past 400+ years. How they feel they can grab you, push you, otherwise act like you don't exist in their space. I swear, I'm in sporting events all the time, and can't tell you how much white people will stand directly in front of you like you don't exist, shove past you, stand too close and try to "box you out" of your territory, etc. This is giving that.
And again, if she needs to get to the injured player and tells him, he should move, but swap the player and trainer and do you think the comments would be the same? It'd be all: "Don't touch people without consent..." "That's what he gets" or Basically my rant but with misogyny as the focus and they'd still be accusing him of DV.
I don't take kindly to every action we do being hyper-criminalized, and I think some of the black dudes trying to cape don't realize they're feeding into white supremacy dog-whistling.
But maybe you disagree...
