NO NEW APPS / WEBSITES / AI VIBE GARBAGE

It didn't take much convincing. The flood of garbage has to stop. If you have something you think is special/unique, send it to the mods FIRST for review. But 99% of the time I can assure you that your app isn't as useful or unique as you think it is.

Considering moratorium on apps

Look, I get the temptation for writing yet another blackjack game/simulator/whatever app, since it's so easy to do these days. But because it's so trivial, we're getting flooded with them (you don't see how many get rejected!)

But they're mostly really crappy, and obvious vehicles for scams/spam/theft. They serve no purpose for the most part.

So we're considering a moratorium on apps. Maybe people can submit them to mods for review or something first. If they do something truly unique (like analyze a side bet or something) we'd consider it.

What does the community think?

EDIT: I'M EASILY CONVINCED. NO NEW APPS ALLOWED WITHOUT APPROVAL FIRST. (please report violators!)

Do you guys card count in online blackjack?

Hey boys, I have been reading up on card counting and one thing I keep seeing Is that It doesnt really work the same way with online blackjack.
From what I understand, live dealer tables can shuffle very early which makes keeping a running count a lot less useful.
I was looking into online blackjack on Bet99 and it got me wondering If card counting Is basically pointless online or If there are situations where It still matters.
Do you guys actually count cards on live dealer tables or Is It against the rules?

How would you combine a quiz with blackjack and roulette at a birthday party?

I’m planning my 30th birthday party at my apartment with around 15 people, and I want to organize a casino-themed evening with a quiz, blackjack, and roulette.
The main room in my apartment is quite small, so I want to split the guests into two groups to avoid having everyone crowded into the same room.
My current idea is to rotate the groups:
Round 1 (around 30 minutes): Group A does the quiz in the main room while Group B plays blackjack and roulette in another area.
Round 2 (around 30 minutes): The groups switch activities.
Afterwards: Everyone can play blackjack and roulette freely.
I’d also like all activities to contribute to an overall leaderboard, with players earning points or chips and competing for prizes at the end.
A few things I’m trying to figure out:
How can I balance the quiz against blackjack and roulette so that no activity gives players an unfair advantage?
Should the quiz be played individually or in teams?
What’s the best way to handle chips and scoring across all three games?
Is 30 minutes per round enough, or would a different rotation work better?
Are there any apps that allow multiple dealers to update a live leaderboard displayed on a TV?
How would you organize this setup? I’d especially appreciate ideas for making the rotation work smoothly in a small apartment while keeping everyone involved.

Explaining house edge to casual players: basic-strategy blackjack under 0.5% vs American roulette at 5.26%

Thumbnail

The gap is more than tenfold. Played with basic strategy, blackjack's house edge falls below 0.5%, while American roulette sits at 5.26%. I made a general-audience video on casino economics that ranks the games this way and then explains theo, and why comps are sized at roughly 20 to 40% of it.

It might be handy for friends who are new to casinos

For the APs here, do you count comps as part of your edge?

Should i give up on BJ and start with Baccara?

Hi! First post, please bear with me, and my terrible english writing🙏😊. Ok, Blackjack seem inpossible at the moment! If i play 10-12 hands i might win 3. At best. Over the last 3 very short sessions iv won 7 hands and lost 31. Thats not extreme by any means, and its a small amount of hands, but its oh so regular for me. I Tilt so damn hard aswell! I get so furios at the predictability of the losses each hand. You know: every doubbel is a miss, its 15-16 against dealers 10 like 70% of the hands and i loose on almost every 18-19 against dealers lowcard. And so on and so on. Please give me a hug🥹.

😊 No but heres my question: Should i quit Blackjack and try Baccara, or is that just as tilting? Or do you smart people here have any advise for how to deal with, or adjust to, what feels like an impossible and ragebaiting game?

Tried out blackjack in Monte Carlo and it kind of sucked...

This weekend I took a short flight to try out the Monte Carlo casino, I'm familiar with portuguese casinos like Estoril, never visited an american casino, for context most of the casinos I visited are all 5-25eur minimum bets, 3:2, S17 and ENHC rules with DD only on 9,10,11 and surrender on any hand except with dealer Ace. For anyone wanting to visit Monte Carlo I'm giving my impressions in this post:

Firstly, the tables were all minimum 25eur bet with some 50eur minimum bet tables, which I guess is reasonable for a venue like Monte Carlo. The rules were the same I am familiar with (3:2, S17, ENHC), with some two important exceptions: for some reason, there's no surrender on any hand; you can double down on any hand, which is great for stuff like A,4 to a dealer 6.

Secondly, for all you APs out there, all tables used the One2Six continuous shuffler (even the higher 50eur min tables), so forget any kind of card counting which is really frustrating for a venue like this, but I guess it is what it is (most people in there were wealthy casuals who did stupid stuff like splitting 10s lol), in Europe I haven't seen a single casino in 2026 that doesn't use them...

Thirdly, if you get a blackjack you get the normal 3:2 payout and as an extra you get a 5eur sidebet that you can win if you win the next hand, so basically an extra 5eur if you win and you lose nothing if you lose the next hand (one small note is that from what I saw it's always 5eur, regardless of the blackjack paying 50eur or 500eur).

Even with all of this I managed to somehow leave with 500eur after buying in for 200eur (a note on this, for people familiar with american casinos you can't lay cash on the table you need to exchange it for chips in the cashier), all with basic strat which is not bad at all for these rules and a CSM, and in conclusion only go there as a nice visit, the casino is beautiful, the interior feels like a museum with gambling and you can always watch the supercars outside or get a nice meal somewhere.

AP’s who’ve traveled to Las Vegas: where’s the cheapest hotel to stay?

Going to Vegas for an AP trip, this may not be the subreddit for this but I’m planning on getting a hotel too but I’m looking for as cheap as possible with little to no hidden stupid resort fees if possible. I have a rental so location doesn’t really matter to me. Thanks!

Turned $495 into $1,200 on a brutal Double Ace split hand (My first session vlog)

Hey guys,

I recently decided to start filming and documenting my online blackjack sessions to track my bankroll swings and review my table decisions.

Really putting myself out there, planning on doing $1000 to $10,000 deposits from now on.

Any criticism is good to me so fire away.

Also I am a much bigger fan of live casino blackjack as I know basic strategy like the back of my head and have gotten really good at getting true count on my card counting. (been backed off by multiple casinos in Canada) can’t seem to find any casinos to allow me to film live sessions like down in the states.

Please take a look and let me know what you think!

Do you freeplay / use blackjack apps?

Hi there,

I want to start by saying, AI did not write this. This is my opening statement, primarily because I don't know how long it is going to be, lol. I do promise to try my very best to do 2-3 edits before I click post. I'm a programmer and a writer, what do you expect? Alas, like I said, I'll do my best. I'd also like to say that this is NOT AN ADVERTISEMENT. I want to make sure that's clear to the mods in this sub. I do ~almost~ have a final product, however, no URL will be included here at all.

What am I looking for?

I'm looking strictly for opinions on apps you are currently using. I'm an avid blackjack player, and I do recall one app (sometime in the last 10 years lol) I thoroughly enjoyed. When it ran out of chips, I was happy to spend $5-$10 (but I may have very well spent more lol) for $20,000 more or whatever it was, so I could continue playing within that environment. Anyway - what I know from this, is that there are SO MANY THAT ARE TERRIBLE ONES. WHY.

Anyway - I'm about 90% through my project, and I think I've nailed down everything I need except a little feedback on things I might ~not~ want to do. What do you not like about the app you use? If you still use it anyway, what is it that keeps you using it? What makes it tolerable but could be a lot better? Animation? Game play? Tutorials? Easy layout? Other things?

How did I build mine?

Well, I'm a programmer, so, naturally, I've nothing against RNG. I do however, have a problem with plain RNG in online blackjack, and that's because I visit the casino here on a weekly basis. When I open an app on my phone, I want to know it's as close to sitting at a real table as possible in terms of shuffling and card count. In a sense what I've built is an arcade style system with an emphasis / training / hints on the game and card counting.

What I'm hoping to find is what people are ~hating~ about the current ones they are using. I'm a broke developer, I do intend to have ads. Users need to understand that developers spend time building things, and time is money. So, if you mention ads, please include if it's specific types of ads, too many, if you're happy paying $4.99 once or 0.99/c a month for no ads, etc). All of this would help me!

Other things I'm looking for are game play things, animations, size of things, colors not displaying well, etc). What do you not like (but it's better than nothing so you still use it) about the app/website? What do you wish it had that it doesn't? I've tried a lot, and what I found was... I hated a lot. So, other than what I know ~I~ want, and building the most fair system possible, I do want other player insights before release! :-)

Thanks in advanced,

-Mindful

Stand on a 16 against a 7+

It just feels like WAY more often than not if I hit I'll lose but if I stand I win more.

I know it's just anecdotal and mathematically you SHOULD hit;

What do you do?

Not any major amounts. $365 last night. $150 the last time. I like to act like I don't know how to play and ask other players/dealer what I should do. Not counting. But I want to learn.

Question…. Player at my table was dealt a queen and a jack and then was given extra on it. Why?

New to blackjack here. Was playing at a table where the guy next to me was dealt that hand and then before the dealer even revealed what he had the player was given $20 extra. Why was that?

Community FYI

Just an FYI to the community:

There's a newer website out there under the name of tensandaces . com. That URL used to belong to us at The Tens and Aces Podcast, but in about 2022 or so, we let it go because we weren't happy with the hosting company we were using, and they made it such a pain to switch to another that we just let it go dormant for years now. We even have maybe 40 or so older episodes that mention that URL, so I guess I need to go back and edit those mentions out! I just want to let it be known to the blackjack community that the current incarnation of that page has nothing to do with us at The Tens and Aces Podcast.

Nevertheless, It has some useful information on it. It has very basic explanations of what card counting is, how it works, about basic strategy and things like that, and It doesn't look like they are selling anything either, at least at this point.

It does, however look like it was absolutely generated by an AI. For example, the logo for the page shows a 10-A of spades, but for some reason, there is an extra Q of spades. There are pictures of roulette tables and a picture of a man grabbing his chips on felt that looks like a cross between a baccarat and craps table. The text based information reads like ChatGPT wrote it, with long lists and bullet points. But, it's not bad information, at least from what I gathered from a cursory reading, It's just not information we put out.

I couldn't find any contact information there or I would have reached out to the developers myself, but if you are or know who created this, feel free to DM me. Maybe we can work together on something?

Split 8s against an ace and lost both hands to blackjack

If it matters, I play blackjack on biggerz in the evenings, normal tables, not live, small bets. I use for that a basic strategy chart I printed, and yesterday I had 8,8 against a dealer ace and split, because the chart says always split 8s.
The dealer took his second card at the end and it was a 10. I lost both hands, so two bets instead of one.

After that I opened the game rules. At this table the dealer gets only one card at the start and the second one after all players finish, so he never checks for blackjack first, and every extra bet from a split or double is also at risk.
My chart is for tables where the dealer checks before you play. Which plays need change for tables like this?

Do still split 8s against a 10 or an ace, or just hit, and doubling 11 against a 10, is it still worth in this situation?

New Casino in Osaka, Japan

It is scheduled to open in 2030. It's owned by MGM, who will likely train the casino staff. However, it is reasonable to assume that the people working casino security will be new to the game.

Anyone thinking about strategies for getting in as much time as possible?

If I was MGM I'd deploy CSMs and instruct the dealers to give poor penetration on any shoe games and call it a day. But one wonders if we might get lucky, and their policies might not account for APs as well as the casinos in other parts of the world, at least to start off.

Why dont we count 7, 8 and 9s?

Thats about 23 percent of a 6 deck shoe, 72 cards out of 312. Wouldnt that information give you a better composition of the shoe and give you a better estimate on expected value? More information should give you a better edge, no?

Does card-counting content creators actually hurt APs?

Curious to get the perspective of working APs and full-time.

Over the past couple of years, there’s been a noticeable surge in blackjack content creators, vloggers, and bloggers documenting sessions on social media.

On one hand, the obvious concern is increased surveillance vigilance. Are shift managers and surveillance directors getting extra paranoid, flat-betting or backing people off much faster because management is hyper-aware of advantage play right now? Does putting a spotlight on the mechanics and travel lifestyle burn out playable games and sweat shops faster than before?

On the other hand, there’s the classic Movie 21 argument. Back when Bringing Down the House and 21 blew up, casinos braced for a wave of math wizards taking down the house, only for thousands of tourists to flood tables with half-baked counting knowledge

TDLR:
Have you noticed surveillance tightening up specifically due to the recent visibility of AP vloggers?

Getting really into AP

Currently self taught from watching countless youtube videos but I want actual training. I'm looking at the obvious place, Blackjack Apprenticeship, but also found AP Toolbox, aside from the savings I'd get from AP Tool box, is one clearly the more obvious one to go with?
