I love how Lantern creates a parallel between Hector and Chuck, even though both don't even meet and are very different.
galleryOver the course of the episode, both men:
- think they are indispensable and all-important to their organization(Hector to the Cartel, Chuck to HHM)
- find out that they are not, in fact, indispensable, as they are forced out of their previous position of good standing(Hector finds out that Gus's chicken trucks will be used; Chuck is forced out of HHM for good) by a colleague(Bolsa and Howard)
- As a result, they go on a furious tantrum and verbally attack everyone they blame(Hector rants about Eladio, Bolsa, and Gus; Chuck tells Jimmy that he never mattered much to him)
- As a direct result of their downfall, both are victims of a health issue(Hector is a victim to a Stroke; Chuck's EHS returns) which leads to them being permanently crippled(Hector becomes a Bell; Chuck outright dies)
- Both also get to watch their hated rival seemingly escape all consequences and rise high(Chuck and Jimmy, Hector and Gus)
- On a more specific note, both of them are technically right that their rival is plotting something(Chuck is correct that Jimmy is a con-man with a checkered past, Hector is correct that Gus is actually plotting against the Cartel and Hector himself) but ignore the fact that it was only brought about by their own actions(Chuck refusing to see Jimmy as anything more than a criminal causes Jimmy to become a criminal again, Hector was the one who killed Max and set Gus on his Bad Choice Road) .
- This is a bit of a stretch, but both of them will choose to take their own lives using a fire-related means of death(Hector will one day suicide bomb Gus, Chuck burns his own house down).
I always like to rewatch shows like Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul to see how all the characters are really similar, and this is just one example I happened to notice.

THEORY: Chuck was a product of teen pregnancy while Jimmy was planned
I don't actually think this is true, but it would give even more of a reason as to why Jimmy's parents favored him. If Chuck was the living reminder of unwanted sacrifices his parents made to have him, no wonder they didn't recognize his hard work. Though... Jimmy's mom looks pretty old in the scene where she dies, and there is no proof of this theory being true. Just thought it would be an interesting angle, especially considering how recent abortion rights are (Jimmy's mom would not have gotten the choice).

Saddest Jim/Saul moment
Waterworks intro, when he received divorce letter from Kim. He's at the verge of crying but Saul took over. Masterclass acting by Bob, shame he never got emmys.

How would gene not be implicated in the mall heist?
So Gene & crew successfully do the mall heist, their saving grace is gene being able to distract Gary.
Police would for sure start an investigation and find out that the main point of failure is Gary who was not paying attention to the CCTV. Gary would then tell the police that he was talking to Gene the whole night facing away from the monitors. How would Gene not immediately be implicated and investigated? And then found out as Saul Goodman?
It's been a while since I have seen the show, so maybe there was some explanation in the episode that I'm not remembering

Why didn’t Bolsa follow up on the desert attack in Bagman?
So, Bolsa secretly hires a Colombian gang to stop Lalo’s bail money from reaching the courthouse. He does this to protect his and Gus’s business from Lalo’s sabotage.
Since Mike and Saul take out the Colombians, the bail money makes it and Lalo is bailed out.
Why didn’t Bolsa inquire about this? Only thing I can think of is he inquired with his contact offscreen, or maybe caught on to Gus’s larger plan (following their phone call in Bad Choice Road) and quietly let it play out.

Just watch Andor and I randomly thought of this scene? Spoiler
galleryWhen I saw that scene between Partagaz and Krennic, the moment Partagaz talked about how much of a miracle about not being caught for this long. I thought about the scene in Better Call Saul with Gus, Peter, and Lydia, with them discussing Lalo and the construction project before Peter freaks out, saying it was a miracle he hasn't been caught yet, and was considering quitting the project until Gus persuaded him that everything would be alright. I thought they were played by the same actor until I did a bit of research and realized they were both played by different actors (Lio Partagaz was played by Anton Lesser, and Peter Schuler was played by Norbert Weisser)
I still find it a funny, interesting coincidence how much these two scenes have in common, with as I said, both Peter and Partagaz showing concern at how long the project is taking and being lucky they haven't been caught yet, and both proceed to off themselves to avoid any further punishment
But what do you guys think? Has anyone thought of these two scenes together or something along those lines?

I spot a very nostalgic song in BCS!
As a huge fan of the Breaking Bad universe, and for such a long time, I should've definetly given BCS a chance sooner.
Season 2 Episode 1 begins with a song that is, at least for me, very associated to nostalgic years such as 2020 - 2022.
It is apparently a remixed version of call me by 90sflav.
I really like this song and I'm finding BCS very entertaining.
I'm just missing 1 thing... Breaking Bad's shaky camera. It was so good. But I can barely see it in Better Call Saul. :/

BCS rewatch: fantastic…until it isnt.
Rewatched the series in a nice binge the last weeks. 2, 3 and 4 the best seasons imo. I do remain the Jimmy/Kim story is so much more interesting than the mob shit even if there are some moments of excellence. Nacho was so sad story. But the many, many plotholes around Gus and introduction of more cartoon characters next to those twins, like Lalo, really diminished my enjoyment.
I also fast forwarded every scene with the film crew and by s6, almost every new scam Jimmy or Kim was pulling. Fun and Games was the last episode I watched. The next 4 on ff - i didnt need more moral of the story hammered in and eventhough I enjoyed the finale the first time, I couldnt even finish Jimmy’s ‘confession’ this time. No man is gonna choose 86 years in prison over 7 and no lawyer would accept such confession as needed for redeeming. Besides, Kim was as guilty as Jimmy. On everything.
In fact Kim Wexler was maybe even more interesting than Saul Goodman. Rhea Seehorn was James Gandolfini good in bcs. Its because of her (not being in) I didnt enjoy the last few episodes as much. And my god did Odenkirk look old in Fun and Games.
In conclusion: one of the best shows ever, if a bit inconsistent in some parts. For what its worth: I hate the full last season of BB, so ridiculous they can run that with the tune if the A-Team on full repeat throughout. BCS was much, much better quality also inits last season. That I personally didnt like the last 4 episodes had nothing to do with a lack of quality.
The cinematograpy, editing of BCS was outstanding. ‘Winner’ (s4 finale) with mike and ziegler in the dark, the pixelated city lights..Vince Gilligan is a master. A genius.
Ill probably do a few more full series rewatches. I remain Jimmy didnt need any redeeming on that fucker Chuck. Howard kept asking why, well, rewind fucking over Jimmy for Chuck..
I Hope to see Seehorn in more quality shows. She is currently carrying one that doesnt have my interest but Kim Wexler is as iconic as Tony Soprano imo.
Now, back to Sopranos rewatch #72. Calling All Cars.
