Hi everyone,

Our sweet MatMat is still confined at the veterinary clinic. 💔 Sadly, his white blood cell count has increased from 24.04 to 36.92. He is currently battling both Feline Calicivirus (FCV) and Feline Panleukopenia Virus (FPV).

Such a little cat, yet he has already endured so much suffering. 💔 It breaks my heart knowing how much he has been through, but we are holding on to hope that he will recover. 🙏

We would like to sincerely thank the three generous individuals who have helped toward MatMat's veterinary care. Every support, no matter the amount, means so much to us and the animals we help. ❤️

MatMat still has a long road to recovery, and his continued hospitalization and treatment come with ongoing veterinary expenses.

We are humbly asking for your support to help us continue providing the care he desperately needs.

Please keep MatMat in your prayers. He deserves a chance to heal and live a healthy, happy life. 🐱

I will leave our support link in the comment section for those who wants to help MatMat 🐾
Thank you all so much 🤍🐾

Hi everyone, meet Emilius (Emi)! 🤍

A couple of days ago, I was scrolling through TikTok when I came across a video of a dog who appeared to be very ill. My heart broke seeing her condition, and I just couldn't scroll past without doing something.

Our nonprofit hasn't taken in a new rescue for a while due to our limited funds, but I simply couldn't ignore her. I immediately reached out to Pages for Paws Shelter to ask for help locating Emi, as she was also in Tanza, Cavite.

Thankfully, Emi was found yesterday! ❤️

She was brought to the veterinary clinic, Petchamp, and our nonprofit was able to cover the cost of her initial veterinary care.

Emi has noticeable tremors, but thankfully, she tested negative for distemper. There is a possibility that she survived distemper in the past and that the tremors are lingering effects of the disease.

It breaks my heart to imagine what she may have endured, possibly fighting for her life alone, sick and frightened on the streets. 💔
Unfortunately, Emi was diagnosed with two types of blood parasites, meaning she still has a long road to recovery ahead of her.

Please continue supporting our mission and Emi's journey to recovery. Your support will help cover her ongoing veterinary treatments, medications, and shelter care expenses.

We may not have much, but with your kindness and support, we can continue giving animals like Emi the second chance they deserve.

Welcome to your new beginning, Emi. You are no longer alone. 🤍

Hi everyone,

MatMat is one of the rescued cats we sponsor in the Philippines. When his foster mother rescued him on May 26, 2026, we helped cover his veterinary care for a severe mouth injury. Since then, we have also been providing his food monthly, as he has difficulty eating hard food.

Today, we received a concerning message that MatMat was having difficulty breathing, so we asked for him to be brought to the veterinary clinic. Sadly, he has been diagnosed with feline calicivirus and is now hospitalized. We don't know how long he will need to stay, but we are praying for his recovery. 🙏💔

We would sincerely appreciate any financial support, especially as we still have several rescued animals needing veterinary care this month, including Raphael, Tiger, Ellie, Thor, MaeMae, and Baci.

We are particularly worried about Raphael, who now has two lumps on his body. His biopsy was previously postponed because he was unwell, and we are hoping he will soon be healthy enough to undergo the procedure. Ellie and MaeMae are also ready for their spay surgeries.

As a small nonprofit, the ongoing veterinary expenses are overwhelming, but these animals deserve every chance at a healthier and happier life. ❤️

Every support, no matter how small, makes a difference. Your kindness allows us to continue providing the medical care, food, and support these rescued animals desperately need.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for helping us give them the care and love they deserve. 🙏🤍

The vote could be next week.

R.I.P
Seeing something like this makes me question our humanity. 💔
We talk about religion, culture, kindness, and being proud of our values. But when a helpless animal suffers on the streets, how many of us actually stop to help?

Should animal cruelty be treated as seriously as cruelty against humans, or do we still consider an animal’s suffering less important simply because it cannot speak?

I know human problems are serious too, but compassion shouldn’t be a competition.
What do you think? Are we truly becoming more civilized, or are we just getting better at talking about humanity?

In this video, I argue that we should expect mammals, birds, reptiles, and fish to be conscious. I use this as the basis to argue for taking seriously the welfare of both farmed and wild animals.

This is Milo. A few days after he came to us from Poland as a puppy, he became seriously ill with babesiosis.
We had a microchip, documents, and an EU pet passport. What we did not understand at the time was that these things do not automatically tell a future owner whether a puppy has been screened for diseases or parasites that may be relevant in the region they came from.
Milo survived after emergency treatment and he is doing well now. We are very grateful for that. But it was frightening to bring home a puppy and suddenly find ourselves in an emergency clinic, trying to understand what was happening.
I am sharing this graphic because I wish we had known more beforehand. Risks are different from region to region. Tick-, sand fly-, and mosquito-borne diseases are not only something to think about when travelling.
This is not about blaming Poland, dogs from abroad, rescue organisations, breeders, sellers, or anyone who adopts a dog from another country. Many dogs arrive healthy and many people act responsibly. It is simply about helping future owners ask the right questions before a puppy comes home.
Before bringing home a puppy from another region, it may be worth speaking with a veterinarian about local disease risks, prevention, and which records or tests are appropriate to ask for.

Help how you can my last post gives way to report to relevant orgs. It seems it is a market based on limited time stock where they torture male pig genitals until they swell for long time and torture them to death.

Hi everyone! ❤️🐾

Angelina “Angel” Julie, who we rescued on July 4, 2026, got spayed on September 27 as she is getting ready to be adopted! Her blood work is finally stable for her to have her surgery, and this is such a huge milestone for her. 🤍

I still remember when we had to rescue Angel from her previous owner. She had spent most of her life in a cage, her wounds were left untreated, and she was starved or sometimes given rotten food. 💔 Seeing how far she has come since then makes this moment even more special.

While Angel recovers from her surgery, she is being fostered and cared for by our very loyal volunteer, Janette Adoremos. Once she has recovered, she will finally get to meet her new fur parent! ❤️🏡

Thor, Ellie, and MaeMae also recently went to the vet, and we are just waiting for Baci to see the vet today.

Thor has shown good improvement with his skin. However, his skin cytology still showed a significant amount of Malassezia fungal cells, and he still has an infection, so he needs to continue his medications for another two weeks. The good news is that his CBC showed that his hematocrit and platelet levels are now normal! ❤️ He will be reassessed again in two weeks.

Ellie received her second dose of the 6-in-1 vaccine and her first kennel cough vaccine. 🥰

MaeMae also received her second 6-in-1 vaccine and first kennel cough vaccine. 🐾💉

Our latest vet bills:
Angel — Php 4,465 (CAD $101.88)
Thor & Ellie — Php 5,485 (CAD $128.13)
MaeMae — Php 1,800 (CAD $41.07)

Things have been a little more difficult financially since I injured my foot and have been off work. We have also been covering all of Angel’s needs while she is in foster care, including her crate, daily food, wipes, pee pads, and anything else she needs while recovering.

This week we also still need to send their shelter allowances.

If anyone would like to help us with these expenses and the continuing veterinary care and other needs of our rescued animals, any amount would truly help us a lot.

Even a small amount makes a difference for our rescued animals 🤍🐾

Thank you so much for continuing to support these animals and their journey toward healthier and happier lives! Thank you!!

Especially the hospitals or home for the elders. I was watching Urbex videos and they found multiple rooms with tons of medical supplies and medications. And I couldnt help but think... Probably that animals ate or chewed what they shouldn't have.

Is there anyone else that worries about that?

Anyone who tried doing anything about that?

This relates to horse soring. In many Tennessee walking horse shows, the lower front limbs of the horses are sored to make them walk with an exaggerated, high step gait. The horses have chemicals slathered on their pasterns which are then cooked in via plastic wrap around the legs. Then, during the show, chains are affixed to that area to rub against the injured skin. They also wear heavy shoes that have stacks of pads between the shoe and hoof so as to add to the effect. This is illegal, and many pain killers are used to get the horses through inspection so they can be shown. It looks like this This spectacle hurts horses - and what you can do!

The USDA has been doing blood tests on the horses shown in these events and their new data here Horse Protection Act | APHIS under "horse protection reports". Blood tests have been done at three shows so far. The National Celebration event is like the Super Bowl for these people. From that link you can download an excel spreadsheet that breaks it down into class and different drugs (almost all were padded and all but one padded horse tested positive.)

Here is a bit more detail 88th Annual TWH National Celebration

The tl;dr, all but one padded horse had been doped with pain killers or sedatives.

I think it is noteworthy that the most used sedative was Romifidine. That is a perfect drug to get a horse through palpation on a sored limit because it can be reversed just in time to go in the big oval and have those chains start to irritate the pasterns. It lasts for 30 minutes.

Congress needs to pass the PAST Act, or at least some bill, to get ride of the action devices and shoeing packages that these animal abusers use. That seems like the one thing that would do the most to end soring, while not impeding on anyone else who shows horses without abusing them.

More to come for anyone who wants to help on this issue.

While spending the equivalent of only half a million US dollars a year, HSA plays a leading role with advances in humane-slaughter technology and best practices. A conservative calculation suggests that HSA may have prevented one painful fish death per $50 of donations, and the actual figure could be at least an order of magnitude cheaper.
