Discussion What a phenomenal game and package!.

I recently redownloaded the game again, and after playing other PS4 titles, what a beautify made game this is!.

There is one critique the difference between being hunted by an alien organism and being harassed by a video game enemy whose patrol route happens to include your exact location!.

The first experience is terrifying. The second gets irritating and quick.

And I think Alien Isolation occasionally undermines its own brilliant atmosphere by making the creature TOO present.

Think about the original Alien.

For much of the film, you have absolutely no idea where it is. It could be anywhere aboard the Nostromo. And when it finally appears, it's an EVENT.

Now imagine Isolation doing that. Twenty minutes of exploring Sevastopol. Strange noises. Maybe something moving behind a window. A distant scream.

Then...

THUD.

Something enormous just landed in the corridor behind you.

THAT is horror.

Not watching the Xenomorph climb into a ceiling vent for the seventeenth time, IN THE SAME MISSION, WHILE I KEEP THROWING THE EQUVLENT OF A DOG TOY 🤣 and mutter, "See you in thirty seconds, asshole.

I would of preferred an Alien that was genuinely unpredictable, even if that meant going an entire mission without encountering it, and have have the few interactions be so intense that I have to change my outfit when I do see it.

Overall though. Just a beautiful game and package, that I can sit on the title screen and be fine.

(UPDATE: I quickly ran through those first 2 missions and got the achievement :) Thank you so much to u/Bran_Man_ (who was in a similar situation) for being literally the only helpful response who wasnt being condescending and toxic.... Everyone else was saying I need to redo the entire game, that I am stupid and need to do every single mission in order again, I was about to give up before I tried to just quickly do those first 2 easy missions... I did not expect this subreddit to be so incredibly toxic... Never seen so many so confidently wrong, obnoxious and condescending people chime in so fast in my life...)

Pretty sure this is because I skipped the first 1-2 missions using mission select just to get into the action quicker since ive already completed it all on normal and know the story very well and have played it plenty of times on my PS4. Is there any way to get the achievement without having to do the whole thing again? Like if I just do the first missions that I skipped so ive done it all on Hard and i get the achievement...?

Discussion Hi everyone so I’m going to the Xbox fan fest next month and the devs for the second game will be there I have ideas I want to tell them what y’all think

I want the Alien to imitate the player’s voice while they’re hiding. Imagine hiding in a locker and hearing your own voice whisper, “It’s safe. Come out.” The Alien could also imitate survivors to lure you into danger.
Another idea is a heartbeat and panic system. When the Alien gets close, your controller could pulse faster while you hear your character’s breathing become heavier. The Alien could use those sounds to locate you.
I want the Alien to feel like a personal enemy that studies you, remembers you, and psychologically manipulates you. Every encounter should feel unpredictable, terrifying, and different depending on how you play.

You spot a survivor waving you over at the end of a corridor. They disappear behind a door. When you investigate, there's nobody there.
Was it a real survivor? A trick of the lighting? Or did the Alien imitate their movements to lure you away from safety?

Let me know what yall think thanks
