Question HELP! Just finished Alien Isolation on Hard but didn't get the survivor achievement..
(UPDATE: I quickly ran through those first 2 missions and got the achievement :) Thank you so much to u/Bran_Man_ (who was in a similar situation) for being literally the only helpful response who wasnt being condescending and toxic.... Everyone else was saying I need to redo the entire game, that I am stupid and need to do every single mission in order again, I was about to give up before I tried to just quickly do those first 2 easy missions... I did not expect this subreddit to be so incredibly toxic... Never seen so many so confidently wrong, obnoxious and condescending people chime in so fast in my life...)
Pretty sure this is because I skipped the first 1-2 missions using mission select just to get into the action quicker since ive already completed it all on normal and know the story very well and have played it plenty of times on my PS4. Is there any way to get the achievement without having to do the whole thing again? Like if I just do the first missions that I skipped so ive done it all on Hard and i get the achievement...?

Discussion What a phenomenal game and package!.
I recently redownloaded the game again, and after playing other PS4 titles, what a beautify made game this is!.
There is one critique the difference between being hunted by an alien organism and being harassed by a video game enemy whose patrol route happens to include your exact location!.
The first experience is terrifying. The second gets irritating and quick.
And I think Alien Isolation occasionally undermines its own brilliant atmosphere by making the creature TOO present.
Think about the original Alien.
For much of the film, you have absolutely no idea where it is. It could be anywhere aboard the Nostromo. And when it finally appears, it's an EVENT.
Now imagine Isolation doing that. Twenty minutes of exploring Sevastopol. Strange noises. Maybe something moving behind a window. A distant scream.
Then...
THUD.
Something enormous just landed in the corridor behind you.
THAT is horror.
Not watching the Xenomorph climb into a ceiling vent for the seventeenth time, IN THE SAME MISSION, WHILE I KEEP THROWING THE EQUVLENT OF A DOG TOY 🤣 and mutter, "See you in thirty seconds, asshole.
I would of preferred an Alien that was genuinely unpredictable, even if that meant going an entire mission without encountering it, and have have the few interactions be so intense that I have to change my outfit when I do see it.
Overall though. Just a beautiful game and package, that I can sit on the title screen and be fine.

Discussion I love this game, and yet, I want to explore the station, take in the atmosphere, and observe the Alien..., but, no, I gotta be Sevestapols unpaid electrician.

Discussion Hi everyone so I’m going to the Xbox fan fest next month and the devs for the second game will be there I have ideas I want to tell them what y’all think
I want the Alien to imitate the player’s voice while they’re hiding. Imagine hiding in a locker and hearing your own voice whisper, “It’s safe. Come out.” The Alien could also imitate survivors to lure you into danger.
Another idea is a heartbeat and panic system. When the Alien gets close, your controller could pulse faster while you hear your character’s breathing become heavier. The Alien could use those sounds to locate you.
I want the Alien to feel like a personal enemy that studies you, remembers you, and psychologically manipulates you. Every encounter should feel unpredictable, terrifying, and different depending on how you play.
You spot a survivor waving you over at the end of a corridor. They disappear behind a door. When you investigate, there's nobody there.
Was it a real survivor? A trick of the lighting? Or did the Alien imitate their movements to lure you away from safety?
Let me know what yall think thanks

Art Alien Isolation- Fanmade Music
Hello again everyone :)
Since Halloween is around the corner in the United States, I had decided to try and make music for games and movies that I really liked. Alien Isolation being one of them. It's been a while since I last played the game, but I do remember playing and beating it on hard difficulty. It was hard but not unfair as I remember. Basically, don't do anything stupid, manage resources well, and don't run around all the place. I thought about maybe giving a nightmare run in the future, but I have been in a gaming slump, and have not played a video game in quite a while despite the fact I like them a lot.
Anyways, I made this live in one take, dawless and with no computers. I used the Asm Hydrasynth deluxe, altering the filter cut off and reverb and using the polyphonic aftertouch to alter parameters some more, as well using the Prophet Rev2 for that motif of notes at the very end of the music.
It's nothing special, just atmospheric music that I was trying to capture and share :)
Thank you to anyone who listens!

Discussion I’m finally gonna beat the game
I’ve watched people play this game so much and I am fascinated with the AI and coding the Alien has, but this game has terrified me for years. I completed the first three missions in 2015, the fourth mission in 2023, and the fifth mission in 2024. I also tried playing on hard mode, so that's on me, but I have decided to take on the task of finishing the game. I’m just gonna play it on easy since I am a baby (that is a joke. I don’t like to criticize people who play on easier difficulties. Not like I used to when I was a teenager, anyway. I usually play on hard in games) and enjoy the game for what it is without giving myself a heart attack. Wish me luck! Maybe I’ll update after I finish the game (hopefully before Halloween!) and give my thoughts!

Image I'm back...with more screenshots!
I've posted a collection of screenshots here before because of how beautiful this game is so here's some more. Most of these were taken using the OpenCage free cam mod or first person screenshots with ReShade and no HUD.

Image Screenshots of Kane's Son
Thought these were too cool to not post. Creepy Kane Jr authorized the release of these photos. Taken with OpenCAGE's Cinematic Tools plug-in by Matti Hietanen and with ARCVision's Reshade Preset effects and No HUD. I also have matching color graded shots of iconic scenes from the first film that I hope to post later.

Video There is something unsettling about not seeing Steve anywhere and then realizing he's waiting to catch you lacking.
He isn't patrolling or anything, he's all the way up there in the vents. But I almost forgot about him, and that could have killed me had I not paid attention.

Question Bug or Feature?
While on mission 16 (Seegson Comms with the six armed guards) I ducked out early via the elevator to Lorenz Scitech Lobby and then took the vent access from the mezzanine floor into the Server Hub/Farm (from mission 10) and aggroed the three Working Joes in that area.
After this I fled back to the Lobby via the Seegson Security office with the Joes in pursuit. I timed it so I could close the elevator doors jusssst before the Joes could get me, because I like to laugh at them as I wave goodbye...
...only, this time one of the Joes got wedged in the doors before phasing into the elevator with me.
This lead to a minute(s) long wet pants panic fight in an enclosed space, and my health steadily dropping to the point where I was about to die, but then the transition between missions finally happened, after which I was in Seegson Comms again, the Joe had vanished and my health was back to full.
This is the first time I've ever had it happen. There have been instances where a Joe has made it on to a transit car before I could select the destination and I've then had to kill it (or die) but the car doesn't go anywhere until either of those things happen. In this case the elevator doors closed and the car was moving between the floors, and the ride lasted for ages.
Is this a normal thing I've just never previously encountered or was it a glitch?

Image Cool toy store find!
Second hand/vintage toy store in our area had this, wish there was more but a cool find! Fitting I’d come across it since I just finished my first play through recently.

Discussion Please suggest more games with level designs similar to Alien Isolation
Recently I am exploring level designing as a hobby and I am trying to design levels for a atmosphere horror game concept. I was looking for inspirations and the games that came to mind are Alien Isolation and SOMA. I love both and they fit my concept well.
Can you kindly suggest more similar games so that I can explore them as well?

Discussion Just started playing and am finding it really hard to stay engaged
It feels like I can't predict anything the alien is going to do or anywhere it's going to be, either stomping super loud 20ft away or being quiet as a mouse behind the door I just wanted to pass. And if I am found in these moments, I have no options except to reload a save. I'm trying to escape the Medical area and the only thing i have that can do something against this sporadic walking failstate is a molotov that gobbles up crafting materials that are VERY hard to come by. I really want to enjoy this game but the past 5 hours have been aggravating, tedious and just really not fun

Art I found a Motion Tracker manual (fan art)
A ‘Weynes’ manual. A little torn and beaten up but it was interesting reading about what these Mk II Motion Trackers ‘key’ off.
Art by me, sketched with Procreate and post processed in Photoshop.
Higher res (4K) version on my X/Twitter - https://x.com/blakeweyland937/status/2111003530278355213?s=46&t=SgFRbegfc9oN3_LuBhXqfQ
I took inspiration from the official A:I2 key art with the tracker dropped in the mud. This is our first and only glimpse at the new style Motion Tracker so I created the torn book cover look to disguise the missing details from the tracker. ‘Key’ being a reference to Alien 1979 line “What does it key off?” and by pure luck Haynes rhymes with Weynes from Weyland-Yutani. Lastly, eagle eyes will note 348 and its significance.

Discussion This game is absolutely incredible! Spoiler
I finished the game yesterday and the crew expendable and last survivor DLC today and wow, I must say, I can see why I have always heard this game get such praise, I absolutely loved it! The graphics are beautiful, especially with the alias isolation mod, you wouldnt believe that this game is from 12 years ago by the look of it. I've never seen the alien movies before, admittedly, but im definitely sold. Im going to watch it sometime this week, I absolutely loved the xenomorph AI and it always felt like this terrifying presence, and having the flamethrower helped me feel at ease slightly... until I used it a bit too much and it would rush me and slam my head down to the ground, hurting me, but hey, at least I didn't die.
This game definitely scared the shit out of me, and like near the end stretch of the game I thought to myself 'hey, I got this, im not so scared anymore!' Until I got to the hive. Powering the reactor and just hearing all the xenos screech and everything scared me to death, and the facehuggers definitely made me shiver a bit in fear and disgust when they killed me.
10/10 game in my book. If I had one complaint, it would be mission 3 when you first get the access tuner and all the human guys there, but even then, maybe I just struggled with that because I wasn't thinking that hiding behind a box near where they were coming from was such a good idea...

Question Anybody made a coop mod out of this game yet ?
With all the Ai craze on game modding, i just thought of this today. Wonder if anybody is trying or cooking up something
