overly drunk

hello, im a 22f who is relatively small and who likes to drink a lot. last night a girl friend and i went out and i ended up having 9 shots within an hour. she kept egging me on and i didn’t even realize how fast and how much i drank. she ended up dropping me off in town (yes, left me alone) and texted my boyfriend to come get me. there’s a lot more to it but thats basically the gist. it’s been about 24 hours now and i still feel like complete and utter shit. i feel like a horrible person. i have my fair share of health issues so i occasionally drink to let loose and forget but i really really out did it last night and i dunno how to deal with it. this place felt like the appropriate spot to complain. i haven’t thrown up or anything but i just feel drained and nauseous. i also have a nasty pain in my lower, front, right side. was that too many drinks? what should i do to stop feeling gross?

My cat survived surgery today. We celebrated and combined a couple champagne mixers. What would you add to this drink?

I need some advice about alcohol because I'm genuinely confused

Hey everyone, I'm 15 nearly 16 and I have some questions about alcohol that I don't really know who to ask.

I've tried alcohol before. I had one shot diluted over about an hour, and then another diluted shot quite quickly, but I honestly couldn't tell whether I was drunk or not. I don't really understand what being drunk is supposed to feel like or how you're meant to know if the alcohol is affecting you.

I also want to understand why people act differently when they drink, like becoming really loud, giggly, emotional or affectionate and going around telling everyone they love them.

The biggest thing I'm curious about is why everyone seems to want to get drunk so badly. People make it seem like such an exciting thing, and I don't really understand what's so appealing about it. Does it actually feel different, does it make you more confident, or is it more about the experience of drinking with friends?

My parents don't really explain this stuff to me, so I'm trying to understand it myself. I'm not looking for judgement; I just want honest answers from people who can explain what being drunk feels like, how you recognise it and why people want to experience it so much.

Drunk at the Bar

I get really messed up at the bar but I feel like that’s not normal. I want to make sure I get home okay and drinking and driving is not something I want to create a habit with. Do I drink too much or should I have other safeguards in order place? Any advice would be appreciated.

Anyone else just absolutely love a good pint?

I genuinely think a nice pint is one of life's great pleasures. Thank God I've never been particularly interested in hard liquor. Just give me a lovely 4–5% beer, that slight buzz, and I'm a happy man.

One of my favourite things to do when visiting a new town or city is to find a proper old-fashioned pub, sit at the bar with a pint and just watch the world go by. It's such a lovely way to get a feel for a place.

And I absolutely love the colourful characters you meet in pubs! People from completely different walks of life, telling stories, having a laugh, chatting with complete strangers. There's something wonderful about that. A good pub really is a little window into the soul of a town.

I know my limits. I've never felt the need to get absolutely wasted or make a fool of myself. I just genuinely enjoy beer, the slight buzz and everything that comes with pub culture.

Honestly, I think life would be a lot less enjoyable without it. I couldn't imagine living somewhere where having a pint isn't part of the culture, let alone somewhere alcohol is forbidden altogether.

Anyone else feel the same? Surely there's something to be said for simply enjoying a few pints and the wonderful social world surrounding them!

First hangover this morning.

Im 25. I have drank before, and been drunk, but not once in my life have I truly been hung-over from alcohol… until today

Last night me and my partner did 11 shots of Platinum 7x a piece. Had fun, watched bad 2000’s comedy movies, and smoked weed inbetween shots…

Then I passed out drunk.

Woke up around 3am feeling uncomfortable, too hot, nauseous, and had a splitting headache. Paced around the room drinking water for about 30 minutes before I finally puked, and that was like… instant relief. But the headache didn’t go away until like, noon.

Worst alcohol experience I’ve ever had. just thinking about the taste or smell now makes me nauseous.

God damn

Whisky nausea, need quick advice

So yesterday evening I drank a bunch of cheap whisky, I usually drink vodka every now n then, but I wanted to try something new, I messed up the dosage and Maybe drank too much a bit too quickly (I'd say around 200ml, not sure tho), the feeling of being drunk on cheap whisky is really different from vodka, its kinda controlled but rough at the same time, anyways (is 75%btw, same as my vodka which Im used to), I've been have this werid feeling in my head, it kinda hurt and I don't think its a hangover cuz its been quite a while, Im also having constant stomach aches and indigestion...I've had hangovers before and this is different, almost like my brain cells r popping, its a bit hard to type aswell..blurry..need some advice? What should I do (apart from hydrate ofc) thx

Is drinking and getting high in the same category?

My roommates constantly get high when they can. My roommates (B & L) say they joke about how I have a drinking problem and I'm an alcoholic but I suspect deep down that what they say is true and its not just a joke.

Literally just before, I asked if they could get my alcohol because I ordered it on ubereats but I was in the middle of a game and if I was afk for too long id get banned for a temp amount of time. Guess what? they didnt get it and I got temp banned. "im not getting your alcohol" "it shouldnt take more than a few minutes to go out give them your id and come back?" Sending these messaging while they are all high btw.

Am I allowed to get angry at them for being hypocritical? It was only a one time thing but they had asked to pick up their "med weed" before, ive never asked them to get my alcohol until literally just before. Or is being high an d being drunk completely different? Ive also been high as a teenager and ive grown up around weed so dont think I dont know anything about weed, I for a fact know more than they do as they only just started getting into it within the last year or two. I just dont know if its the same kinda thing...?

Is this a normal reaction to alcohol?

For context, I’m not a heavy drinker. I drink on rare occasions, and I want to note that I am NOT a lightweight. It takes a lot of alcohol for me to feel drunk.

But regardless if I drink a lot or just a little bit, I start getting really unwanted side effects. An example of this is at a summer cookout I went to, where I drank a few drinks of this juice with rum by the pool. I started feeling like I had flu like symptoms, including really bad body aches, chills, fatigue, dizziness (which is expected), and sometimes headache. Mainly the body aches and chills make me stop drinking because I feel so worn out.

I feel so relieved when I wake up in the morning and it’s all gone. I never feel hungover the next day, it’s like my bad symptoms are happening as I consume the alcohol.

So yeah, I don’t drink often because it is not as enjoyable with the way it makes me feel. I will occasionally have a glass of wine, but even then it makes me feel this way.

Does anyone else experience this? Or know why? Like it’s not the end of the world or anything if I can’t drink often but I’m just more curious than anything.

Anyone else just like liquor mixed with room temp water?

I just enjoy 1 part liquor to 3-4 parts water. Be it Gin, Whiskey, Vodka etc... Everyone thinks I am weird (don't care) and it is usually difficult to order at restaurants/bars.

Is there a particular way to order it this way? Have I reached the late game of drinking? Any other mid-late game strategies 😅?

What are young adults drinking these days?

Hey! I’m starting to feel old 😂 My friends and I got into a debate last night about what drinks are popular with young adults these days, especially in the US.

Back in our day, it was tequila slammers (“tek paf” with salt and lemon, here in France) and also Malibu coconut rum.

What’s the equivalent now? Any specific brands or cocktails everyone seems to be into?

Looking for something between cider and beer

I’m looking for a drink that’s something between a cider and a beer. I feel ciders can be too sweet and I’m not always in the mood for something like a beer so I’m looking for a nice middle. Any suggestions welcome, also if anyone mixes the 2 lol I’ve thought about that, lmk what a good ratio would be!

Both of us are 27. I want to chug a Cutwater before a pouya concert and he’s giving me shit saying we’re too old for that. Am I an alcoholic or is he just lame? Btw we have two glasses of wine with dinner most nights.

A little text i wrote to an answer in askreddit

What'd you think ^^

"And get drunk on good stuff, not bad stuff. Good alcohol is the difference. Don't buy cheap stuff full of fusel oil or sugar n shit. Buy good quality whisky, rum or vodka - MUST be good quality, bad vodka makes you sick. If you're "good drunk", you get in a better mood. If you're "bad drunk", you get in a worse mood and won't be chatty or friendly."
