Hi everybody! Are there any badminton clubs/groups in the city? I am working professional,so do not have any student ID for RWTH sportscenter.

Ich hab das Wochenende was Freizeit und würde gerne irgendwas sportliches machen in Aachen oder was mit öpnv gut erreichbar ist.

I dropped my phone while cycling back from work. Somebody picked it up with positive intent, and took it home. I was able to use online tracking feature and get where its located but being a student and auslander I was scared.

Then, I decided that best move is to call my number and see if someone picks it up. So it did happen, and I was able to get the same address on call.

Ultimately, I recieved my device safe and sound from the mentioned person. I want to use this platform to thank this honesty and sense of duty towards others.

Yup, i dont like it. Why do they use children’s voice for bus station announcements? It’s weird and kinda hard to hear properly. There might be a reason behind it like a children’s day or whatevs but seriously why?

könnt ihr einige kleine Städte bzw. Dörfer vorschlagen, die max. 2-2,5 Std von Aachen mit dem Zug weit weg sind?

Ich bin wahrscheinlich in meinen letzten Monaten hier, deswegen möchte ich Orte besuchen, die ich sonst nie besuchen würde, falls ich nicht in der Nähe wohnen würde. (ich lebe schon seit einigen Jahren hier also kleine Städte wie Monschau, Valkenburg, Cochem habe ich selbstverständlich schon besucht).

Ich suche nach einer Mischung von Geschichte und Natur, aber ich priorisiere die Geschichte eines Orts. Vielleicht irgendwas schönes in der Eifel? Oder in Belgien?

Hi everyone! I’m 25F and want to learn how to dance, but I have absolutely no experience.

I’d love to dance to English pop songs and learn fun group routines, like the ones you see in dance class videos. I think commercial dance or beginner hip hop might be what I’m looking for, but I’m not sure!

Can anyone recommend a welcoming place for adults that teaches from the very basics? Ideally around the Frankenberger Viertel.

After the last successful events, we are hosting again our weekly event this friday in aachen and based on a really good response, we are turning it into a weekly ritual of events. We are working with the goal to bring IRL socializing. We have a “coffee round” going on every week. After the coffee, we move to a bar with the whole team of people to have our second layer of socializing.

Das Internet wird mir langsam einfach echt zu unangenehm und vorallem repetitiv.

Gibt’s eine zuverlässige Seite wo ich die Tankpreise kn beispielsweise für Eynatten sehen kann? Ich habe bisher nur veraltete Infos gefunden und frage mich wie viel ich sparen kann wenn ich Diesel in Belgien anstelle von Aachen tanke. Lohnt sich das noch?

I'm an international student at RWTH and I'm looking for advice on a job situation that has dragged on.

More than three weeks ago I did a long, grueling trial shift at a restaurant chain in Aachen for a part-time kitchen job. It was unpaid. Afterwards they gave me a long list of documents to submit (so that they could prepare the contract), which I did, including a hygiene certificate (the §43 IfSG Belehrung) that I paid for out of my own pocket.

Since then I've reached out multiple times by message and in person. I keep hearing that contract preparation takes a while, and last week staff couldn't even find my name or documents in their system. I still have no answer, and its been a long time.

My questions:

1. Is it legal to have someone do a long unpaid trial shift and then not respond at all?
2. Could I realistically take legal action, for example to claim pay for the trial shift or reimbursement of the certificate? Or is it not worth it?
3. Is this normal, taking it so long to prepare a contract for a simple part time kitchen job?
