New 3d artist career pivot from 2d
Hey everyone!
I’m a 22 year old 2d concept artist who recently fell in love with Zbrush to the point that I’ve decided to completely pivot to pursue a 3d art career. I’ve been using Zbrush for about a month now, and I was looking for some feedback on what to focus on for portfolio pieces/ what is most valued in the space when looking for a job.
I plan to get really into the skin texture details on the goblin with alphas in Zbrush, retopologize in blender, and hand paint in substance painter before I do a render in blender and in unreal. I think I’m pretty decent at the sculpting aspects just from my 2d art experience, but I would LOVE more advice on how to proceed most effectively and what sort of portfolio pieces to work on, as I’m entirely unfamiliar with the standards and workflow of 3d art due to being so new. Thank you everyone!!
