Important Addressing the Influx of Posts and Reactions Involving AI

Hey everyone! So, the moderation team has taken notice of the increased frequency of AI posts and the reactions to them and we would like to talk about it.

Current AI Rules
First things first, let’s bring up the subreddit's current rules regarding AI. Currently we have a rule (specifically Rule 14) that requires posts with AI generated content to have “[AI]” in their titles. If posts don’t have these tags then they are removed, even if AI is mentioned in post descriptions or the comment section. AI has never been allowed for purely art related posts, even if “[AI]” is included in the title.

There may have been instances in the past where AI posts have been allowed to stay up because moderators missed them. We aren’t perfect but we try to check every post.

In the past we’ve let posts slide if they have tags similar enough to “[AI]” such as “(AI)”, “(AI-used)”, “(AI-assisted)” since these are clearly distinguishing a post as including AI generated content.

These rules were decided on after a community vote on if to allow AI posts: https://www.reddit.com/r/Worldbox/s/QzAe06PmQz

Issues With The Current Rules
Over time AI has become better at various tasks, whether or not AI is good at certain skills overall is a widely debated topic and we will not be joining that debate here.

We will mention the ethical concerns though, which include but are not limited to:
- Misinformation (AI commonly mis-states info as fact or blatantly tries to invent it)
- Copyright (AI trains on data and uses it in ways that violates the rights of artists, especially when it comes to visual media/images)
- Environmental (AI has adverse effects on the not just the natural environment but also human environments where the people that live there don’t have the resources to stand up against AI infrastructure effectively)
- Overshadowing (AI occasionally overshadows the work of humans, sometimes with the human that requested the generated content passing it off as their own)

- Oversaturation (AI can generate content extremely quickly and can take over a large portion of content in certain spaces)
- Society (Mainly societies are centered around some form of capitalism and AI within these systems threatens to provide high class individuals/corporations with the power to infringe on the rights of people without consequence)

The validity of each of these concerns (or even if they should be concerns) is a highly debated topic and full of nuances. For some AI is purely a tool to be used or misused like any other while others have opinions that vary across a wide spectrum.

Amendments to AI Rules
At the current moment and until another post from the moderation team regarding AI, AI is viewed as a tool that poses more risk to the community, though due to AI usefulness and its ability to pass as human we prefer to take a hybrid approach.

Because of varying extents to which AI can be used we are adjusting Rule 14 to the following (this may be changed in the future):

----------

  1. AI is NOT allowed in purely art posts
  2. Mark posts with one of the following (include brackets): [AI]: Relied heavily on AI, may be used in place of other markings, [AI-assisted]: AI directly contributed to a part of the post (code, text, assets, etc), [AI-advised]: AI was heavily consulted
  3. Explain how AI was used. Be as clear as possible and put this at the top or bottom. Do not try to justify AI usage, just explain how it was used
  4. Refrain from sharing AI-related posts frequently

----------

Obviously we cannot always definitely determine if someone used AI and sometimes AI use is so minor that it's reasonable not to mention it. The moderation team will still attempt to check posts for AI but sometimes we must rely on the subreddit's members to be honest in how their post was created.

Commenting on AI Posts
As mentioned there have been a few more AI posts recently and with them some heated comment sections. We ask that all members remember the subreddit's other rules regarding being respectful with each other and not escalating arguments.

We have seen unwarranted escalations from people on both pro and anti-ai sides and we would like that to stop. You are free to disagree and have discussions with each other but just remember this is a subreddit for Worldbox not AI debates.

This post will stay up for a while and will be free to debate the subreddit’s AI rules, AI posts, and opinions of other server members regarding AI if you guys decide you want to discuss those things.

TL;DR
The moderation team is trying to set up a better way to address concerns about AI content in the best way it can, so were making some changes. Read Rule 14.

Misc If worldbox was owned by candywriter (bitlife devs)

First they would make a monster pack with zombies, living trees and houses, evil mages, demons etc. Then theyd add a special traits pack with all the good traits like giant, immortality, lucky etc. Then theyd add a worldbox subscription for 69.99 a week then they would add a modern pack with modern stuff then theyd make a gene editng pack (basically now tje gene editor is now behind a paywall) then they would add a glyphs lack then this subreddit will be filled with how greedy the game is

Question Making all the mages fight with kingdoms. Who do you think will win?

I've got plague doctors in bottom left, Necromancers on the top left, Evil Mages on the top right, and white mages and druids on the bottom right. Who do yall think will win and why? I will be locking the map into the age of wonders era. They will not all start at war, thus allowing diplomacy and alliances. Update: Immediately white mages attacked druids next to them only to be then attacked by the evil mages. The druids have made an alliance with the evil mages. Will provide who won tommorow morning. (I'm tired)

Video I put TABS into Worldbox [Ai assisted]

• Upvotes

What is a better game to do this with? I'll also be adding modded units from TABS, so basically any type of unit you can imagine.

The actual TABS units, with their models, animations, wobbly ragdolls, Al and sounds, running inside WorldBox.

Not released (yet). This is a work-in-progress showcase. If I do release it, it won't contain any of Landfall's files. It would read the units out of your own TABS install, so you'd need to own the game.

I used Al (Claude) to write the code that combines the two games, porting the TABS unit logic and physics so they actually run and fight inside WorldBox. The gameplay is real, captured in-game.

Question How to have insects not spontaneously combust?

I have seen a documentary about birds in a desert, they have found an oasis but the water is salty and briny, however there were flies there that drank it and were full of freshwater so they ate those.

I want to recreate that little thing in my own world using algea eating flies, issue is insects are absolutely horrible at not dying becausr they dont eat, barely breed and are horrifically fragile, this breaks my fragile little autistic heart and I will not sleep until some wholesome chungus redditor saves my entire life by having atleast some sort of a clue on how to get insects not to commit immediate suicide upon being alive.

Misc Mods that make Disasters threats again?

I don’t know if it’s just me, but lately all the disasters just seem completely underwhelming. The civilizations just steamroll anything I throw at them unless I do something ridiculous like spawn in 15 dragons at once or do 10 of the spawner disasters or multiple a zombie wave into the thousands.

Nothing phases or even really slows them down anymore short of literally raining death down on them. It’s taken a good amount of the drama and fun out of the game for me. Does anyone have any suggestions for mods that revamp the disasters and actually make them apocalyptic events again? Maybe something that removes the conversion/spawn rate for the Great Pumpkin/Flesh Tumor/Bulbous Growth/Assimilator, making it grow exponentially? Or something that makes dragons have special abilities or some new variants? Anything like that?

Misc The Arrival Of The Great Pumpkin

I've been having quite a ball in a recent world I made that has seen my Dwarven civilization easily kill Dragons, Evil Mages and two Alien invasions then be brought to near extinction by an angry pumpkin and its spawn. I love this game.

Story Cities of my world: Nerudun

Thumbnail

Oh my Gods, it took hours to write this 😆😆😆

I write these stories about my world from the year 245, looking backwards. This means there is a relatively noticeable blindspot in history that I have to fill in with every single menu, tab, or scant in-world reference I can get my hands on.

I have to force these disparate elements into these overviews of cities (and later kingdoms) in my world. It's gloriously tedious work that takes about a full hour moving around a frozen map, paused on start 😁.

Today, I tell of you of Nerudun. A gorgeous, ancient city and the last one of its kind, and the capital of the relatively small Kingdom of Ysolis, one of the three great colonial empires.

Founded in the year 50 C.E. by some dude named Wogund (please check your human cities and tell me if you've ever found a Wogund as a founder. This dude founded most of the major cities in my world somehow 🙄), Nerudun is located in the farthest north of Unsuria, the landmass from where all humans originate.

The city is governed by Lady Barbey Beth One of the Della Caegeno clan, a Chad of a woman who made literally all of her incredibly OP mythril weapons: a full set of armour with three legendary weapons, yo.

The city has been continuously inhabited by humans, uninterrupted, for literally all of her history, with no record of war against her. Nerudun is the wealthiest city in the entire Ysolisian colonial empire and is basically the wealthiest city in terms of natural resources in all of Unsuria.

The Bah Empire is the largest economic power in the world, with 53,490 coins in circulation. The capital of the Empire, also called Bah, 7,702 coins in circulation. Ysolis, as a whole, has 15,791 coins in circulation, with 11,205 of those circulation in Nerudun. That's 70.96% of all monetary wealth in the entire empire, man 🤣, that's insane!!!

Warmongering, apocalyptically violent, evil sheep people have a more equitable financial policy than the oldest continuously inhabited city by an extant population on the planet, only hording a little under 15% of their massive, brutal empire's obscene monetary wealth… WHAT?!! 😆

Anyway, such bad habits haven't stopped Ysolisian cities from being some of the most built up areas in the world, with Nerudun itself having this massive urban core that occupies much of its alloted borders, with the periphery dedicated to mining in the east, defence in the north, farming in the west, and a library in the south.

Their dock is in the north and has direct access to some of the wealthiest markets on the planet, on the landmass of Medireditum to the east and Perin to the west and north.

Unsur and Norent: two of the other three first generation human cities back from the good old days of when all mean were united under one king, border Norent to the south, with Unsur stretching out a panhandle to keep Vasanna from also having a land border, though Visanna and Nerudun share a maritime border to the west via the Vasanna Vista peninsula.

Other maritime borders include Perinna to the North, Reditum to the Northeast, and Ru to the east. Way back when times were good, Ru's current maritime border with Nerudun didn't exist, and the city of Palave did instead. It was sacked and annihilated by Bah in 114 C.E.

Ru was also conquered soon after. This Bahic Ru gradually grew to occupy the spaces where its sister city was originally located in southern Medireditum. It is quite a dark period in history 😭… but at least we got a cool ass bridge from it 😎, that's somethin', right?

Anyway, Nerudun has an impressive inventory that grants them that wealth of resources I touched on before. They are wealthiest in common metals, stone, and wood, while their gold stores are relatively modest compared to the surrounding cities on the continent, indeed, Ysolis is not a major centre of gold distribution or trade in gold, with all cities fall behind that of the other two empires.

The Bah Empire has the most gold out of anyone 🤣, with not one city falling under 1000 bars of gold 😆, it's ridiculous, even as they have the most cites!!! Dudes, Byyyh is a tiny outpost that occupies less land than Vori (which is quite poor, as I've discussed), but Byyyh has barely a thousand gold coins off from having as much gold as all the smallest settlements in the world put together. My dudes, the smallest cities collectively have 2706 gold bars together and Byyyh has 1998. This outpost doesn't even have enough space to have a mine 😂, it's all fueled by trade and the movement of wealth down to Bah, just south of Byyyh from the other provinces.

In all, Nerudun is beautiful, old, and glorious city with a good amount of wealth and centralized power over the subject cities of the Kingdom of Ysolis.

It's woefully exposed to its former sister cities now heavily armed, imperialistic provinces counting down the days until they can reunify all of Unsuria again, but, this time, under the Bah Empire.

…

At least most of the landmass of Unsuria, we still have Navutumce in the Navum peninsula, sharing a border with Norent, in the west, but that's a story for another time.

It's been good to write about this more successful, connected city for once. Flompi was a bit of a sore bummer, and Vori was even more of a bummer. Nerudun is something that shouldn't be a bummer, but is kind of a bummer anyway given the extremely predator centralised extraction of tribute from the resource provinces that it's got going on.

The economy is generally quite stable by year, it tends to see upward progression, but quite bad by the decade as something happened between 190 C.E. and 200 C.E. that nuked the city's economic landscape around the empire.

Vorenium was founded around the time this recession was starting to go off 😀. God, those sheep really enshittened the whole world with their imperialist bullshit around the late second to early third centuries C.E. 😁.
