MTAs Why are mages being overglazed in terms of power?
Literally every supplement of world of darkness states that mages are not omnipotent. Why are they overglazed?

Welcome to the weekly thread for all bite-sized content you don't want to make a full post about! Short rules questions! Funny or cool moments from your last game! Weird bits of lore that the writers hid in sidebars! It's a real potpourri.
Generally, a good metric for whether something belongs here or in its own submission is whether it's running for a couple sentences or a couple paragraphs. Note that comments here are sorted by new, as well - but we ask that if your comment didn't get attention, that you *not* re-comment it in the same submission.

Welcome to this week's game corner! Whether you're a storyteller spinning up a new game or a group that wants to fill out its ranks; whether you're a hometown table or an online game with players on every continent, here's where you put your post-its up.
Please note the following - comments that don't follow this etiquette may be removed:
MTR + Orpheus for that crossover you've never been able to get players for. Please don't overstylize these to the point of illegibility, but feel free to use games' three-letter abbreviations or their full titles as you desire. It may also help to indicate whether a game is using World of Darkness or Chronicles of Darkness books, for the benefit of readers less versed in the various publications.Additionally, note that the moderation team does not vet or endorse comments here in any capacity beyond what is applied to normal posts plus the above stipulations. That is to say, if you join a game and have a downright rancid time, please don't make this space a problem because of it.

Can a homid step sideways as easy as a lupis or are there benefits to which form you do it in?
If there's a shiny surface can the Garou just jump in (one action) or do they need to focus for so many turns?
How easy is it to use in combat to keep popping in and out to avoid attracts and get behind the enemy; or does it just work for Movie Slasher off- camera sneaks?
Can Garou slide back wherever they want (STs discretion) or do other shiny surfaces give them an easy way back in "dense" areas?
If you drag a small bomb into the Umbra and it goes off will that have any physical effect on the imediate area, or just a feeling of bad vibes?
If you dump a corpse in the Umbra is it a perfect crime or will the corpse show up again (spit out somewhere or a ripe vessel for a Famori)?
Was there a big shift on stepping sideways between WtA2 and revised?

So, a Huntsman has a True Fae's Title stuck in its chest in place of a heart.
That's not metaphorical. There is literally a Title there, and if you kill the Huntsman, that Title bolts off back to Arcadia, while the Huntsman's body can be recreated by the Fae that holds its heart. But in the meantime, it's serving the purpose of the heart, both physically and metaphorically.
So what happens if you (possibly not changelings -- this seems more like something the Ordo Dracul would do in a crossover) instead subdue and capture a Huntsman, take it to an appropriate medical site, and then do open-chest surgery on it? (Keeping it alive, but sedated.) Can you capture and secure the Title that way? Can you destroy it if you use cold iron tools? (That being destroying the Fae Title itself -- something that can normally be destroyed by contact with cold iron -- not the iron-immune Huntsman that carries it.) If it is the vampires, what happens if you put a completely different (possibly artificial) heart in in its place, whether the Title escapes or not?
On a related note: Called shot to the heart (or rather, place where the heart would be) with a cold iron weapon, and dealing enough damage with it that it would pierce the heart (I believe 5+ damage). Contact with iron damages True Fae. Can doing this damage the Fae itself directly?

As the title says, I'm aware that WoD generally recommends groups of around 3–5 players.
However, I've only ever run sessions with up to four players, and even with four, I've often found that people end up talking over one another, having to take turns or hold back, or that some players struggle to find opportunities to speak.
Now, I'm about to run a session with five players.
Are there any Storytellers here with plenty of experience running games for groups of this size?
What has your experience been like?
What have you done to address the challenges that come with having a larger group?

I had this doubt when I saw that Garou Tribes could have weakness as an optional rule.

I'm also wondering if it's okay to do stuff like photoshopped art here
I'm still trying to figure out the legs because I want to try not doing a centaur like the anansai 😅

Thats about the whole question. Will a demon hunt down a Widderslainte for a deal they made in their past life? Or does getting reincarnated wipe your slate clean? Also, in case its not clear, I don't mean fallen angels, I mean the kinds of spirit entities that nephandi make deals with.

I once saw a post that Willy Wonka was probably a mage. I was curious if I wanted to build my mage character to make magical sweets what spheres of magic should I invest in.

This is basically just a fluff post to get insight and generate discussions based on things like your own experiences of being who you are and how that would map onto each of the changeling kiths

I’m playing Werewolf: the Apocalypse 20th Anniversary edition. And we’re using the Changing Breeds books… I’m playing a werespider, and want to do artwork of my character. But I’m a wee bit confused how to visualise the Ananasi rank markings.
So my actual question, has anyone made or can help find a visual aid for this? Thank you in advance~
(Also did not know what to tag this under, sorry)

Any idea why invites to the world of darkness discord are paused?
I can't join it.

Ive made a core rulebook, storyteller guide book, and character sheet folio for a wax and wayne era mistborn game styled of off 'World of Darkness (bluebook), vampire/werewolf wild west, and Aberrant ' rules system. I think its ready enough for playtesting and id love some feedback if you're interested. Let me know if you're interested in checking it out. (Game lore takes place after the events of the lost metal)

Okay, I play a Tremere, and I’m planning to conduct two experiments as part of the story. One involves a tree, but that’s not important here. The other involves the Revenant families, and I thought a good first experiment would be to use vitae from a vampire’s heart.
Obviously, this would kill the vampire, but the heart can be removed. The Banu Haqim do this to make diablerie easier, so I started wondering: what would happen if you gave that kind of vitae to a human/ghoul? After all, it’s not exactly ordinary vitae but vitae with vampire soul.
I’m posting this here to find out whether anything like this has been described in the lore, hear your thoughts, and maybe get some other ideas for experiments related to this topic.

Hey, looking to buy some MtA books from DriveThru to Canada and am wondering if anyone has done so recently and if there were any surprise duties crossing the border? Might be easier to buy the PDFs and print them myself if so.
Sorry, I mean, thanks!

I don't think Rorg should be treated the same as the other planetary incarnas. He is just built different. He lunges meteors at Wyrm, and he half-kills Luna. Also, in the novel, he tears off the Wyrm's head.

I was curious about this when I keep seeing references from comments on here about some stuff being cut out from the final product. I kept trying to find any source about these mentions, but google is a pain to find anything you exactly want. I heard about cut Egyptian changelings, a lost fera tribe. And I heard somewhere about more planned translation guides, but it got canceled.
Essentially, I want to make this post to anchor to any sort information of cut content for any splats (preferably not stuff that was changed or removed from different editions)

To provide some context: I recently started a MtAw campaign and created pre-made characters for the players. To make it easier to build the group, I included a shared trauma in their backstories: the loss of a loved one. She was the sister of one character, the bestie of another one, etc, you get the idea.
But now, my players are starting to think there was something strange about her: they can’t believe that four people who knew her could have awakened by chance. They mentioned this several times during the last session, and I didn’t correct them, I figure it could be an interesting plot hook, but I don’t see how one person could have such an impact! Do you have any ideas?
My first thought would be that it's not this person specifically, but rather a side effect caused by this person, or that this person might have been the catalyst for a larger plan but that's as far as I've gotten for now!

Im making a mega chronicle out of Seattle 2026, and im gonna be including full books that have been almost fully flashed out and will need playtesting, and all have original lore that splice in pretty cleanly to established world of darkness lore. Right now the books are 'Grimm:The Unveiling, and Children of the Ancient Sky (full dragons), and 'Godborn' (full fledged forgotten gods). Im also working on a dark and unknown species storyteller companion that details creatures called 'The Unreckoned' that are old, ancient, dark creatures that cannot be finitely tied to any of the known major supernatural templates, and are completely separate. There is a Seattle cast book, that also details new and original factions that I've introduced that have bearing on the wider world of darkness. Let me knlw of you're interested, also FYI this is based kf 5th edition rules.

I'm creating a character for a campaign that will span from the Dark Ages to almost the modern day. There are quite a few of us, and we like having a variety of clans in the party, so out of the remaining options, Toreador is the one I'm most drawn to.
My friends have played campaigns before, but this will be my first proper campaign. So far, I've only played short one-shots or games that lasted two or three sessions.
What are the defining traits of a Toreador? I want to create an interesting character who obviously has her own personality and way of doing things, but what would you say are the things that make a character truly feel like a Toreador?
I'm working on her backstory, and I'm making her a morally grey woman. I'd love some specific traits or quirks I could incorporate to make her feel more like a Toreador, beyond simply appreciating beauty (she draws and loves nature).
Basically, what would make her sire choose her for the clan? What is it about her that would make them see a Toreador in her?
Thanks!

Seriously I've been thinking about it
And I'm just now beginning to comprehend how deeply I love this fact
That all these different games have the tools and toys to make your own stories and things that you want to do and mix and match them
It's just so PEAK
I love it all!

Title. Was thinking of this for a scenario of sorts, one that I thought was cool/interesting.
Namely, I had asked this to a friend of mine and he did compare it to PMC's, who are able to utilize military equipment (such as automatic weapons) of their own legally. Of course, given that they're hunting monsters, they'd probably be able to get their hands on stuff most people couldn't. They might even get some of their own unique equipment. Of course, groups like TFV would probably have their funding skyrocket.
What might be some equipment they could get their hands on?
