Any advice for an extremely unreasonable client who is unhappy with her photos?
I have a team of photographers and recently delivered a gallery to a bride who is absolutely crashing out about her photos. She admitted to liking "a lot" of them, but is claiming she is crying and in tears about a few specific ones. I don't want to give details because they are super specific. But she is nitpicking very small details that are simply not errors that one could hold the photographer accountable for. It sounds like she expected the photographer to stop and carefully compose every single image and adjust people's hair and posture to some kind of standard and vision she clearly has but that I have never heard of. Like a style choice a guest is making in the family photos and a gesture her partner made over and over again that he clearly thought was romantic but she found awkward.
When I explained that we believe we did our best work for her, that these photos are in line with our style, and that our photographers prioritize giving couples space to be themselves – she accused us of blaming her for not knowing how to pose or be a model.
It's really hard to express what's happening without giving specifics or sharing the photos. I realize a lot of photographers might deliver bad work and get defensive about it. I just know that in 10 years of doing this and being part of over 500 weddings with a team, the worst feedback I have gotten prior to this is occasionally none at all. I have never dealt with a situation like this. She is demanding re-edits, reculling, the ability to re-cull herself, photoshop, AI, whatever it takes to make them "right" and a full refund. She's also demanding that we chastise the photographer for her failures.
I genuinely have no idea what to do here. I feel certain that we're going to end up squeezing her re-edits into a packed fall schedule of editing, and she's going to end up leaving a bad review anyway
