Spoiler alert for the new warrior cats game that just dropped, obviously, though honestly? The game barely has a story so there’s literally NOTHING to spoil
This is a LONG post. So I’m putting a TLDR right here: this game is an unfinished, buggy mess, and is not worth your money in the state it is in. Do NOT buy it, unless you want to spend money on an obviously unfinished game.
Also, please feel free to ask me any questions at all about the game. I feel like I have seen everything this game has to offer.

Right, the long part; I played the riverclan story from start to finish, it did not take long. I then played the thunderclan story (almost) all the way through to compare the two campaigns.
First of all, I want to say I don’t like the character creator. I just wish that markings were more separated (paws, head, muzzle, etc) to be able to make our OCs more accurately
On a second play through the game starts almost exactly the same. The prophecy is different, but the dialogue outside of that is literally the exact same as the riverclan story.
They specifically point out that you are special, which I dislike. I would like to feel like I earned my destiny. We are literally just the prophecy cat.
Like the riverclan story, I am starting as an apprentice. I will keep track of how many quests it takes me to become a warrior
I’ve noticed that in the thunderclan story, you can generally talk to more of the NPCs. This is not the case in the riverclan story
Apprentice quests:
1, hunting mice
2, gathering cobwebs for nests
3, border marking + chasing out a shadowclan intruder, this was a two phase boss (I noticed that I received the same scar for this boss fight as the one in the riverclan story, also, there was a boss fight here in the other story too, but instead it was a badger and some kits had escaped)
As I start my next quest as an apprentice, I noticed that the dialogue for this quest is exactly the same as the riverclan quest, they tell you to prove yourself to be worthy of being a warrior and then your warrior ceremony IS the quest
I’m noticing that the quests are exactly the same, just slightly different sometimes (for example, quest 3 in the thunderclan and riverclan story are the same, the only difference between them is what animal the boss fight is against)
In riverclan, I had a few quests as a warrior, the deputy retired to the elders den and then our leader was murdered. Let’s see how the thunderclan story plays out, I have a hunch that it’s going to be similar.
Oh yeah. And you can’t swim. Not even if you’re a riverclan cat. Swimming does not exist in this game.
Again, a random apprentice has joined my party. I can only assume they’re meant to be my apprentice, but there was no ceremony
warrior quests:
1, border marking
2, fight rogue cat (these turn out to be shadowclan cats, but the quest called them rogues
3, border “patrol” (walk to this specific location and stand in the circle) also, talking to my clanmates as I come back to camp I find out through dialogue alone that the deputy was attacked so badly he has to retire, there was no cutscene for this. Every cat I talk to is hinting that I will become deputy.
4, reach level 11
I am now deputy.
Deputy quests:
1, go rescue your clanmate by fighting an enemy (by the way, the leader is already talking about retiring) also, the “threat” was a mouse, I think it was meant to be funny but since the NPCs don’t have any personality it wasn’t funny at all
2, find and chase off intruders
3, mark borders (got back from this quest and the leader was dead, just like in the riverclan story) it’s the same story but the circumstances are slightly different.
Leader quests:
1, reach level 15
2, travel to the moonpool (leader ceremony is identical to the riverclan one, medicine cat gives you the same dialogue as the other story)
3, go to the island (???) oh my god. They mean the riverclan island. I’m not even sure if I can explain to you how ridiculously far away that is
I found a shortcut path of stones that cuts straight to the island. I can’t use this shortcut because the jump pad won’t activate there. I tried it one more time in case i was doing something wrong. I wasn’t. Now I have to go all the way around through riverclan and that is so incredibly far it’s not even fun
I can only assume that was meant to be a gathering? But there was nobody else there
4, find the blazing star. Exactly the same quest as the other story word for word.
The item I needed didn’t spawn in. I am standing exactly where it’s supposed to be and it’s not there. I am soft locked. I’m not playing anymore.

The game generally feels unfinished, like a beta version you would release to get feedback. Things I’ve noticed:
if you fight a cat that you need to fight to progress the story, that cat can be randomly generated. However, when you die, the original cat is replaced with a completely different one
You don’t seem to be able to choose who you can have as a party member, cats join and leave your party based on your current quest
Prey go out of their way to attack you, instead of running
Enemies always spawn in the same place and just stand there
NPCs such as clanmates are soulless husks of characters that are only there to give you quests and that’s it
You can’t skip the experience gained screen (and it’s annoyingly slow, especially if you gain a lot of xp)
Once you press the sneak attack button you don’t have to do anything. Even if the enemy notices you approaching you still get the bonus damage
Prey does the same amount of damage to you as every other enemy
I’m playing on a switch 2 and the game doesn’t feel like it’s running very well, the fps is low
It’s hard to tell where you can and can’t go. There are invisible walls everywhere
The combat is so slow and you can’t speed it up at all
A lot of the animations for attacks are the same
The same sound effects will be used right after another (your enemy will growl at you, and you will growl back and the audio clip is exactly the same)
Your allies fully heal after battle
There’s no way to tell if the enemy you’re attacking will be one enemy, two, or three enemies
There are many typos
I don’t understand why a lot of the “intruders” in the quests are prey? Perhaps the game is picking enemies at random? It feels underwhelming to patrol the border and the enemy I need to fight to complete the quest is a mouse or rabbit
There are no consequences for losing all your health. You get teleported back to the last fast travel point you used. Sometimes I die on purpose so I can tp across the map
You can go into any territory regardless of what clan you’re in. There’s no punishment for it. You won’t get caught.
There are only like 4 music tracks in the game and you will notice it.
If you read all this, do you have the game? If you’ve played it, do you agree with me or am I being too cynical?
