Hello All,
This week i have found numerous unpleasant things in my dorms hall bathroom. It is very unpleasant to walk into a shower stall and find a half eaten sandwich. A used bandaid, or something sticky on the handle bars in the accessible bathroom. It makes the space unsafe to use, part of being in a dorm room is keeping our shared spaces nice and pleasant to be in.
Please treat the bathrooms with respect, in addition, it creates extra work for our custodial teams who work hard to keep the buildings safe and clean.
Please be mindful of others.

I started dating one of my roommates around a week into classes beginning.

it was alright at first but its just gotten progressively worse and its terrible spending every second together. i'm really wanting to break up, have been for a while, but i just am also scared of just making things terribly awkward for everyone.
Any advice on what to do? Desperately looking for a way out of this without making a mess of everything.

I put up posters along the lines of a “looking for housing” type of poster, all around campus including on the central poster hanging posts/board thingies. They went up like a day and a half ago and already a bunch have been removed completely. Usually posters last way longer. Is the school trying to like “clean up” or something?

I have a class project in English 110, in which we create a podcast on a topic of our choosing that involves interviews. My topic is on the psychological effects of AI companionship, and I am hoping to interview a few students on their relationship with these programs, such as why they use it and in what ways. I plan to create a Google survey to send around, but I would like to get an interview or two with some students at Western! Please DM me or comment below if you're interested!

As ive heard colleges like cwu have very bad 🍇 culture and i was curious if that is as apparent of a problem here at wwu?

I have a cat I'd like to bring to my apartment as an ESA. I know a lot of people at Western use ESA letters, and sometimes I question how y'all are getting them since it is a LOTTT of people (and I know some of y'all aren't getting them the fully correct way). I've been doing virtual therapy/psych and the platform makes it so they cannot provide ESA letters. What have y'all been doing?

I see little crafting events pop up here and there, and they always catch my eye. I’m to introverted to go alone I’d love to find people who enjoy sewing, making clothes, doing little DIY projects, or just crafting in general. I think it would be really fun to work on projects together, share ideas, and just hang out while we craft 🧵🪡

I am out of state and my current gpa is around a 3.9. My essay isn't going very well and the EA deadline is coming up so I'm feeling rly stressed. My extracurriculars are just okay. Do I still have a good chance or do they really care about the essay?

10 minutes from campus and 5 minutes from downtown
In building gym, patio, study area with free coffee, bike storage, and courtyard

I’ve been at this unit for the past 2 years. I love it but I won’t be here anymore. Great for someone wanting to be close to everything but still enjoy nice amenities!!

I got these strip lights for my dorm and got them all hung up. Only issue is that the app needs wifi for the lights and the wifi here is weird to get into so nothing is working. Has anyone got this problem or got a solution???

I'm so done with this ridiculous, gravelly, pot-hole filled deathtrap. Just last week I punctured a 3-day old tire going about 4mph in this stupid lot. And now I was given a citation for parking along a barely-visible yellow line since another car was parked there and I assumed because I COULDN'T SEE THE YELLOW that it was a parking spot, only for the bastard to drive away, leaving me looking like a massive dickhead.

How can they possibly create such a horrendous, vehicle-obliterating gravel hellscape and then ticketing students for not parking along lines they can barely see? How are they not embarrassed leaving the parking lot like this and not maintaining or fixing it? Is it greed or sadism? I genuinely don't understand. There's got to be a way to get them to fix this fucking pebble-purgatory.

Just got accepted into WWU as an out of state transfer applicant. I would need roughly 3 years to finish my degree, but my family is super worried about cost. Just wondering if anyone has experience using a post 9/11 gi bill to pay for school or if anyone knows how much that might cover? For xtra context I get about 12k a year in Pell grants, and I qualify for the Fry scholarship. Should I contact Financial Aid office w these questions or am I supposed to kinda just figure this out? Any feedback would be appreciated!!!!

I HATE walking past this building cause whatever's going on on the lower floors can be smelled from outside the building and it smells like FART and I KNOW the people around me have thought it was me at some point.

Student fees can be used for many good projects, but sometimes the process can involve the administration choosing projects that use large portions of these fees. These bike counters were installed over the summer with $100k of your sustainable campus fees. Right now, the portion of Tech fees that would be used for Tech Initiative Proposals ($165k) may be swept to just pay for wifi routers, with no other proposals to be considered. Get involved, and ask questions of your administration, and make sure these funds are used for your priorities.

Having difficulties looking for people to interview. Whenever I do stories and have to interview people. I feel awkward walking up to people and asking them if they’d be interested. Especially when people seem locked in on their work.

Im starting to get back in to dnd with a few friends but i dont have any of my old dnd books. Does anyone know where I could find some used dnd books? Specifically the players handbook (could be 2014 or 2024). I checked with some game stores in town and they didn't have any used. im lowkey embarrassed to be asking for friends on reddit but i am super shy so just going up to someone irl and asking to be friends feels super scary especially since it feels like we’re past the first week or so when everyone was doing that

i tried going to a few clubs already but it didn’t really go anywhere because The Anxiety started talking to me like the green goblin mask and i ended up saying nothing or just not furthering the conversation past exchanging names
