So frustrated, disappointed,and SCAMMED
Extremely Disappointed with Vivint — Unreliable Equipment and Repeated Missed Appointments
We have had Vivint security for approximately three months, and the experience has been frustrating from the very first week. Our cameras continuously go offline, and the system repeatedly disconnects from our network. We have not been able to enjoy even one full week of reliable service.
Within the first month, we contacted Vivint multiple times and asked them to come retrieve their equipment because the system was not working properly. Instead, we were repeatedly reassured that they could fix it and make everything work. We relied on those assurances, only to be told after the return window had passed that we would have to pay off the entire system to get out of the agreement.
Since then, we have continued dealing with the same problems, along with repeated technician appointment cancellations. We pay an additional $10 per month for technician service, yet technicians repeatedly fail to show up or our appointments are canceled and pushed back weeks. We have called off work, lost valuable time, and canceled weekend plans to accommodate these appointments, only to be left waiting and forced to reschedule.
Our reason for purchasing this system was to protect our family and monitor our children’s safety as they leave for school and return home before we get home from work. This is not just an inconvenience. We purchased a security system for peace of mind, and we have not received the reliable service we were promised.
During our latest customer service chat, Vivint acknowledged that the technician had canceled the appointment, but the representative could not explain why it was canceled or why we were not notified. We were offered a $10 account credit, which does not come close to addressing the repeated inconvenience, lost work time, and ongoing failure to provide the service we are paying for.
We have been patient and have repeatedly given Vivint opportunities to resolve this. We should not have to continue sacrificing our work schedules and family time while paying for a system that does not function reliably.
We are requesting a permanent resolution, including properly functioning equipment and dependable technician service, or a fair release from our agreement without being forced to pay off a system that has failed to perform as expected.
I would strongly encourage anyone considering Vivint to carefully research the service and support experience before signing a long-term agreement.
