Seems silly - Travel app authentication
Venting here a little. The capital one app lets me authenticate by tapping my venturex card. The Travel app only has the option to authenticate using my cell number.
So.....if i am traveling and wanting to book my next flight, why would I be forced to get on roaming to verify my Travel? Make it easier when traveling...not harder!!!

Need help reg SUB
I have a Venture which I took around 6 months back. Once I am done with 1 yr, I am planning to downgrade it to Venture One and apply for Venture X.
Will I be eligible to get SUB for Venture X again since I already got it for Venture?

Eligibility
Hello everyone,
I wanted to ask what are the requirements to be eligible for any of the Venture card line through Capital One. I currently have two credit cards with them the savor one which I am thinking of letting sit for a month or so before closing and the Savor rewards for good credit.
I'm planning to stick with Capital One for a good while trying to strengthen more of a relationship with them, but I wanted to ask what does your credit score have to be around? Is there any other contributing factors to assist you in getting an offer or even accepted for the venture or Venture x. Or even the Venture One.
And do you have to have a spotless record on your credit profile I am doing what I can currently to clean up my credit profile i have a bankruptcy that was filed back in 2020 it won't be off until at least 2028 I currently make about $60,000 on my own none really much saved to do family circumstances but saving here and there as best as I can.
Any feedback is appreciated

Rental car insurance in California
The rental car company is saying it's California law that I have to list my personal insurance for liability even though the card covers collision.
I know the card doesn't cover liability but will this negate the primary coverage for collision?

Transferring points for domestic flights seems impossible
I recently got a VentureX card and am now trying to book my first flight using points. The issue that I am running into is the lack of partnerships for domestic flights in the US.
I have tried to go around this issue by booking flights through other companies like airfrance, air canada, and british airways that share an alliance with companies such as Delta, United, American, ect.
However, when using these portals I either cant find a flight, the flight doesn’t make sense(2 lay overs), or the portal wont even load. I have tried this with multiple different destination and origin cities, different dates, and different trip types(multi city, round trip, one way).
I fly domestic significantly more often than I would ever fly international. I am beginning to think that the VentureX is suboptimal for someone like me. Does anyone have a solution, or information that would help me out?

Upgrading from VentureOne to Venture X?
I’m trying to upgrade from VentureOne to Venture X because I don’t want to hurt my credit by canceling a card and applying for a new one (Planning to apply for a mortgage soon, so I want to maintain a good credit score).
How does the upgrade process work? Can I just call Capital One to see if I’m eligible for an upgrade?
Would you recommend upgrading? What are the benefits of having Venture X besides lounge access?

Unexpected Credit Line Increase
I was approved for the card in May wth a 30k credit line. Based on some of the advice on here, I applied for a CLI after a few weeks and it was approved to 33k. I was planning to request another increase after 6 months, but Capital One beat me to the punch.

Just got approved. When should I apply for a CLI?
Hello, just got approved for the Venture X (personal)!
I've heard that if you apply for a CLI within days of being approved it's likely to be approved? Is that true? When should I be asking for the increase?

Quick thank you!
I was in a comment thread a while back asking about traveling to Japan. A number of kind redditors explained the process to me and then linked an r/awardtickets post. Between these two pieces of help I booked my Japan trip this morning. Two business class tickets.
You guys are amazing! Thank you!

Flight redemption via British Airways 20% transfer bonus
Just thought I'll share the redemption strategy and process in case it's helpful to anyone. Award flights from EUR to USA west coast have dropped a lot. Especially Flying blue used to have amazing redemptions and they have killed it, for dynamic pricing. Anyway, here it is..
Venture X currently has a 20% transfer bonus to BA. I booked a business class award flight from AMS to DEN via LHR. The cost of this flight is 115.5k points and $639. The cash price of this cost is $5361. Here is how I used the points:
- I have 37k Avios in my Qatar frequent flyer account earned purely from past travel. I consider these types of frequent flyer points free.
- I moved these into my BA account since they allow seamless moving of avios on supported programs.
- I transferred 66k Venture X miles to my BA account to make up the rest and get over 115.5k avios with that 20% transfer bonus.
So I'd consider the total credit card miles/points to be just 66k for this trip, making it a 7.15 cpp redemption which is great. If we consider the 37k Qatar earned avios in the calculation, it drops to 4.58 cpp which is still great. (numbers are slightly off since I rounded to 66k, and not the exact balance which would be 65 point something). And the long haul is with their refreshed individual suites on the A350.
Note, the same flight was available through Atmos for 55k points plus $1100 in taxes. However, I don't have any current means to build Atmos currency. However, you could buy enough points to make up the 55k points for about $900 and that plus the $639 still makes for a great cash purchase.

Portal hotel prices madness
Newbie here. 2 nights ago was checking remote non-touristy place in Japan and hotels were around $68/night.
Yesterday, $181/night. Today $221/night. I have no clue what's going on.
Another interesting finding: the price during the search of hotels lower than the price when you click on the actual hotel. It is so fishy.

Billt paladium or venture X or both?
I currently have the venture x and I’m thinking about adding the Bilt paladium. I like the 3x point accelerator and the partners works well for me. I also have the sapphire preferred and I think they have good synergy. I like the venture x for the rental car insurance, price match in portal and travel credit. I’m wondering if anyone decided to keep both is it redundant and it’s better to just pick one? Thank you! I will also be adding the ritz Carlton card next year as well

First time submitting a trip delay claim
I'm looking for guidance from anyone that has successfully been reimbursed for expenses caused by a delayed flight.
I submitted my original itinerary, Bali to Tokyo. I uploaded a picture of my delayed trip certificate from Hong Kong airlines (which was delayed 17hrs due to typhoon) and receipts of all expenses (ie Hotel, food and Uber). Also the new itinerary that was emailed to me by Hong Kong airlines.
I got an email back that states:
"-We could not verify the reason for your travel supplier's delay. Please provide proof from the travel supplier
(airline, cruise line, hotel) or other official report verifying the reason and length of the delay.
- Itemized receipts for all claimed expenses that include the date, merchant, and breakdown of each purchased
item. These receipts are required for all claimed expenses.
-Copy of your updated itinerary or boarding pass showing the date and time of your rescheduled trip and any
change or penalty fees."
I feel like I'm going crazy as my uploads cover all of this. My next step is to re- submit all of this in their pdf form plus a new official statement from Hong Kong airlines that shows old itinerary, new itinerary and reason for delay.
If that doesn't work I'm going to call and try my luck there. Anything else that night help my case?
