It's been a while since I last posted about the headset i'm working on (I thought it would be sooner) but at this point things are looking good! I wanted to share the progress on it!

A lot of the headset is near completion for the Andromeda headset while a lot remains of the Vector Gear and the underlying software (The XRUIOS)! We got pretty far regardless and have SLAM working within the headset + controllers for example!

The above video has me talking more though so i'm going to share the finalized specs! The only thing that might change are the displays and optics to higher quality if however possible!

Vector Gear

• Displays: Dual 2160 × 2160 TFT LCD panels at 90 Hz.
• Optics: Dual combined Fresnel (“pseudo-pancake”) optics.
• IPD: Automatic adjustment.
• Main processor: Qualcomm Snapdragon 8cx Gen 3 with 8 GB RAM.
• Co-processor: Rockchip RK3588S with 8 GB RAM, specifically for SLAM, face tracking and developer modding
• Tracking: Inside-out SLAM for headset and controllers (Controllers use RK3576, more below)
• Cameras: Two monochrome SLAM cameras, two global shutter colour passthrough cameras, two internal eye tracking cameras and one internal mouth tracking camera.

• Audio: Integrated audio system (Still choosing speaker) and dual microphone array
• Charging: USB C Power Delivery.

• Controllers: Inside out tracked controllers with an RK3576 processor in each controller.
• Operating system: YuukOS, an Arch-based XR distribution, with XRUIOS as its spatial computing layer (Works with Windows/Linux Steam, Monado driver WIP)
• Software compatibility: FEX x86 emulation and Proton compatibility layers, with console emulation under discussion

(Small note, we are making it so the RK3588S or the 8CX Gen3 can be used as the input, meaning if you're using PCVR you're not losing power to the 8CX! Should save a LOT of power.

Andromeda - LCD and Pancake OLED Version

  • LCD: 1600 × 1600 per eye.
  • Pancake OLED: 2560 × 2560 per eye (Although limits of 1920x1920 @ 90hz upscaled and 2560x2560 @ 75hz, we are looking for alternatives that are the same price but can do more, no promises)
• Optics: Pancake optics on the OLED configuration.
• IPD: Automatic adjustment.
• Tracking: Inside out headset and controller tracking using SLAM.
• Face tracking: Supported
• Compute: RK3588S based SLAM and wireless PCVR processing.
• Wireless PCVR: Designed around wireless streaming and foveated streaming
• Battery: 45 W class Amprius silicon cell battery; a 7+ hour runtime is a development target and remains in progress.
• Expansion: Shares the Vector Gear's intended open and moddable hardware ecosystem.

We are trying to make this thing pretty much as good as we can with the resources we have and surprisingly have gotten pretty far from where we were at the start of this! I remember where things were 9 years ago and it's insane to see how far we've come!

hello, this is my first experience with eye tracking and Im having some trouble.

Above is the tutorial I followed to get eye tracking setup, and the app properly tracks my eyes and seems to be sending it to VRCFT just fine because it says its recieving data(about 130 msgs/s) but its not outputting any. To be clear VRchat and VRCFT is running on my PC, I have the livelink module installed and am running the OSC frame app on the livelink mode, OSC is enabled in VRchat, and Ive tried multiple avatars that say they support eye tracking.

I hope someone can help, and please let me know if you need anymore information, thank you!!

I just got a pimax dream air, and im trying to figure out how to get the eye tracking to work in vrchat

in pimax i have

eye tracking turned on,

data sent to vrchat

and calibrated.

in vrchat,

OSC is enabled

OSC debug show tons of eyetracking info

I have tried several models with eye tracking but none of them function

So I bought an avatar but I can only make facial expressions with the left hand, is there any way I can edit it and add it to the other hand too?

They don't send you an email or a notification or anything, you just have to find out on your own.
It's surreal as hell seeing something you made on the front page though

I've tried to reset my password & change my username multiple times & it appears to work but then my password & username stay the same. I'm not sure what's going on & I'm starting to get frustrated. I'm not banned & I haven't had any warnings. Can anyone explain this or help me out?

First and foremost, I would like an entry for Project Image, which can easily be culled from the Project Image that Unity insists on. Same exact image.

Next, I'd like to add to the ★ designation on the far, far left with a variety of other dingbats for more extensive categorization... user created lists like Favorites, Delete Me, Variants, Not Finished/Needs Further Editing, and so on. Failing using the ★ for this, then a simple text category for user input to this same end. Either way, being sortable will be important as well.

On the subject of being sortable, more column options to this end would be nice. Last Modified is all well and fine, but "Created" is important too and is not the same thing.

Oh, and if the Sort By could stay in place after I choose something (on the assumption I need to continue looking), that would make me happy.

I can probably think of more, but those are the ones that I've had to deal with in the past hour.

i got this to work yesterday but now it's not working at all

Im kinda debating on getting 3 more htc vive v3.0 trackers, for elbows ans chest, but not exactly sure if i should or not, or how worth it, it will be. I mean 2 for elbows got to be right? Since for me, vrc can decide where my elbow is, and so as much as id want to do a flexing of my arms type motions, its not gonna happen any time soon.

Is 3 more trackers the limit before diminishing returns? Idk...

But would i be better off selling my fbt trackerd and getting different kind? (Keep in mind i got a full lighthouse setup, so lighthouses, index controllers and a lighthouse tracked vrheadset). How would other fbt trackers that i can get now (and not need to wait a year) compare to vive trackers? As far as being accurate and not needing to calibrate often? What about compatiblity?

Hello! I finally upgraded to a computer that doesn’t disconnect from virtual desktop every 2 seconds. I had a ton of fun going through my saved worlds to see the difference vs quest standalone.

Does anyone have any recommendations for beautiful worlds to check out on pc? Or worlds with cool mechanics that I would not have been to play on the quest?

On my Instagram I like to post superhero pictures whether it be solo pictures or group pictures or just a few characters in a scene but haven't been able to do it recently because my friends are always busy would love to be able to just take some pictures get some good marvel/dc pictures to put out DM me if interested

I have 150 hours and 5 years into VRC and I'm still New User. About a week ago I finished the first of 2 worlds that I have spent over 2 months working on and tried to publish it only to find out that wasn't possible. You have to be User rank to publish worlds. Information on reliable ways to rank up is pretty vague. A lot of "try this" with no concrete measure of how much "this" I have to try.

The main thing people mention is having people add you as a friend. [redacted]. I already have some friends on VRC. How many are needed? 10? 20? 50?

People have also said to upload worlds and avatars. I don't know if it actually counts if you can't publish them, though. I've uploaded my complete world, my partial world and I found out that VCC comes with a prefab avatar for testing so I uploaded that, too. I'm still a New User, though. I'm not going to put tons of effort into making a bunch of stuff if I'm not sure how much stuff is required to rank up. 1 more? 5 more? 20 more? If I just upload a bunch of empty worlds, is that actually going to help me rank up?

I want something concrete. This system is really arbitrary, opaque, and annoying. Nobody should be a New User at 150 hours/5 years. And please don't say to hang out here or there. I've tried hanging out this past week and have gotten nowhere. Thank you.

Edit: I was replying to people individually but was getting downvote bombed for no reason so I'll just stop doing that.

"Just buy VRC+" - If it was 100% certain to work, maybe, but I'm already annoyed with this system and from everything I gather, it's not certain so I hesitate to throw money at the problem.

"Just check out worlds and make friends" - I've spent 150 hours and 5 years doing that. It's clearly more specific than that.

"150 hours and 5 years is nothing" - No, actually, it's objectively a ton of hours. It's not a competition. You having more hours does not mean I should not be considered a regular user by now. That's just silly.

"Get friend requests from people with high trust ranks" - If this is actually a major factor then that might be the issue. I do have a bunch of people on my friends list but most of them are either Visitor rank with only Steam accounts or they're people that only join me once in awhile and have very low hours in VRC. If you absolutely NEED high trust friends then that's something I don't have.

Edit 2: I am finally User rank! I joined the Spookality 2026 world just because it was well populated without realizing that people were handing out gift subs and someone gifted me a month of VRC+. I finally have the option to publish. I'm a little busy right this minute but I'll be publishing my finished world soon!

Someone actually asked for a drawing of their avatar earlier today for their user icon and I nearly cried

I know this gets asked a lot, but every post about this is "join Ancients", which I did long ago, but was actually disappointed. Mostly because I work late in the evening, and events would end just as I get off work and no instances were ever open when I played. So I left. I have joined other nice groups since, but usually they end up disbanding because of drama or burn out. I have joined random public group instances that are age gated, but a lot of those groups are still young adults who act more immature than the regular public instances.

I play almost every night right after work, depending on my energy, so I am looking for active groups. I am not interested in groups around drinking or drugs. I don't do any of that, and it's annoying to babysit those that do. Also, nothing sexual either. I am just trying to relax and socialize after a busy day.

I just want to join like-minded adults who aren't immature. I prefer to socialize over games or movies, but am still willing to go, especially if it's new and/or fun.
