ULPT: If you accidentally piss off your wife and she spends the entire day getting progressively angrier, you can turn a guaranteed loss into a draw with one sentence.

Sometimes I’ll unintentionally do something that pisses my wife off. Nothing major, but instead of addressing it right away, she’ll let it simmer all day until she’s progressively more pissed off about something I barely even remember doing.

Eventually it boils over and I get the full rundown of everything I did wrong, including a few things I didn’t even know were on the scoreboard.

Here’s the trick. Let her finish explaining everything, then calmly say, “I just wish you would’ve communicated this to me earlier.”

That’s it. You’ve now introduced a completely separate grievance into the argument. Sure, you fucked up initially, but she also failed to communicate her feelings in a timely manner. Suddenly you’re not the only one who could’ve handled things better.

Best case, you’ve successfully shifted the conversation from what you did wrong to how you both need to work on communication.

Worst case, you’re still in trouble, but at least you’ve turned a blowout into a competitive game.

My son has his car for sale, last night some guys came, (they said) after driving for two hours to see it.

They then after a short test drive said that there was oil in the coolant and it needed a new gasket and therefore only offered a very reduced price.

We had heard about a similar scam online, and we were suspicious, so my son didn't accept the price and they left after trying to convince him to take their offer.

We have taken it to a garage and know that it was the attempted the scam where they add oil to the coolant, which makes the engine look faulty.

We have the phone number and the first name of the guy but nothing else.

They visited our house to view the car so they know where we live, although they said they drove 2 hours for all we know they could just live in the next town.

Is there anything we could do to help them not do this to other people etc.

Long story short, one of my coworkers is being abusive towards me and only me. She always tries to ask me personal questions and trying to be entertained by me in some way, I'm a really quiet and reserved person so she knows she can't read me like she wants to do, and I think this has "made" her trying to be entertained by me by being physically aggressive and intimidating. To date, she has committed acts that I consider serious, including instances of disrespect, such as making gestures as if to hit me and even hit me with small objects. I am extremely uncomfortable with this behavior, which makes it very difficult for me to react in the moment. However, I have reached my limit; I have explained everything to my boss, and tomorrow I will have a meeting with her, with my boss also present. I am afraid, as she is an extremely unstable person (a condition for which she is heavily medicated) because I'm afraid of her behaviour getting worse towards me.

I am the only person she does this to. I consider it bullying, but since this is the first time I’ve experienced something like this, I don’t even know how to react, especially considering that she is a very unstable person with mental health issues, something she has admitted herself and which the entire team is aware of.

Tomorrow, I intend to clearly and firmly set my boundaries, making it known that if this continues, I will take legal action, I will no longer tolerate this behavior. If she changes her attitude after this, I will consider the matter closed; otherwise, I need advice on how to handle the situation if it escalate. Regardless of how harsh the advice might be, my priority is my own stability and safety.

For context: she suffers from depression, anxiety, and OCD, and was subjected to every conceivable form of abuse during her childhood, she told me she was a bully as a kid because of how heavily she was being abused in her home. She is a mother, and one of her daughters is being bullied at school (the irony). I am aware of many personal details about her, as she has shared them with me herself.

My dad refuses to replace the fire hazard of a phone. It's sa Samsung M12 with clear battery bloat. The screen itself has popped off slightly and is being held in okay with the help of a case. I worked for an acupuncturist last year and offered to recycle 4-5 of her sharps containers for some extra cash. At the time I was in a different city, where disposal sites were all over the place. We got a project together with frequent reports to our boss.

I do all the work and am the one with subject knowledge. She is the kind of person who needs a step by step guide for everything. Since we clock in and out by noting the times by ourselves she uses it to not work more than a few hours a day.

I am the opposite. Clock in and out truthfully. Working my ass of cause I like my work.

Usually I don't mind others'work ethics, but every time we do an inperson report she plays her role. To be the one doing the work. Criticism on me in front of the boss.

Alright, let's set the scene. I'm from and live in Sweden, and getting hired has been a hellscape since at least 2016 when I graduated from high school and first started applying. There effectively aren't any unqualified jobs, even the largest grocery stores run on what would be considered a skeleton crew in the US etc. I've barely ever had any interviews whatsoever since every single position I'm remotely qualified for would have at least 500 applicants.

I've been able to get jobs in other EU countries, however. It was always much easier to get interviews etc. The first one lasted for about a year until the company shut down. The other decided to not let me stay after the half year trial period. This was caused due to untreated mental health conditions to be honest, my manager wanted to relocate me to their back office department instead, but there wasn't room there for me. So not completely useless.

After that I basically tried to get employed in various other EU countries, working as a customer support agent, since they would recruit people from Sweden to handle this for that market, but employed elsewhere. Unfortunately none of these lasted for more than a week or so for the aforementioned reason. I have now started receiving treatment again.

After that I've been studying CS for about 4 years, but I don't have my degree yet even though it's supposed to take at a minimum 3 years. My skills have gotten quite rusty too since I've been unemployed and barely done anything for the last 1 year.

So, anyone who has any advice on how I could maybe fudge my resume? I'm not feeling that good about faking it, because even if they don't catch on before I even get an interview, I'll likely fumble when they ask questions. I barely even remember much in the way of details from the jobs I actually did. If I wanna apply for the really basic jobs that don't technically have any qualifications but that do in practice due to massive competition, the career path I've supposedly been taking will seem very suspicious.

Need some help for my friend (M) who is dealing with some pathetic behaviour from one of the other mothers (B) at school pick up. This is outside of my jurisdiction lol

My friend M was "friends" with B until M stopped being a people-pleaser and letting B walk all over her. Now B is acting like a typical bully at school pick up: gossiping to isolate her, pointing and laughing at her, sending photos and videos of them all hanging out without her, whispering behind her hand to the other mums while they all look at her... M has simply blocked them and has been ignoring it. Now B has even changed her school pick-up routine so that M has to walk by her/the group and hear this behaviour every day.

Do we have any ULPT to make B miserable and stop focusing on M? B is clearly looking for a reaction so giving her one won't be satisfying, and we also need to keep it subtle for the kids sake/being on school grounds etc.

My fiance has been divorced for 3 years from a man who was emotionally and verbally abusive, who has had the police called on him multiple times throughout their marriage, and was physical with her at least on one occasion where the police also had to be involved. Unfortunately they have 4 young kids together and he gets partial custody (every other weekend and one weekday every 2 weeks).

Over text he is constantly abusive towards her, berates her, blames her for all the failings of him as a father and husband, but she has to maintain some form of contact to coordinate with the kids. Just recently there was a mixup in the schedule (caused by his constant summer conflicts that caused rescheduling in the first place) and he did not get one of his days, even though he consistently either shortens or skips out on his assigned parenting time and the family schedule has been known for many months ahead of time. He has decided he "wants her punished in front of a judge and get jail time" so while they are trying to resolve the scheduling and communication through Friend of the Court, he refuses to resolve the issue and is forcing it to go to a judge. Because of the kids, she refuses to take the low road and go on any counter-offensive towards him, but it feels like she is being punished for being the responsible parent who won't stoop to his level.

How can I, on my own without her involvement, get back at him and make his life as miserable as he is doing to her? I want to use the police against him since he's a known abuser to them, and I want to make him regret he ever messed with her again.

Long story short....a friend of mine bought a sectional off Facebook from a neighboring city and didn’t have the means to pick it up, so I went ahead and contacted the seller and asked if they could deliver it for a price they gave me a price I paid it they never showed up blocked our numbers, etc.

I have been told that this employment gap could be a red flag on my resume. Despite trying hard, I have struggled to find a job. This has also affected my mental health and led to phases of depression and anxiety.

Since I haven’t taken any courses or done any volunteering during this time, I am now unsure how to address it.
