Before posting, have a look through the flairs M4Frelationship and F4Mrelationship, you may find a match there.
If you've posted before, please don't post again.

I've been a loyal Faibanet user for sometime but my jaw dropped when I saw the new Canalbox entry offer. I'm seriously considering switching mainly because they offer dual band routers with a 5ghz channel and are now cheaper than my current provider. Canalbox users how is the experience and is it worth making the switch?

American and english speaking 31m planning to spend 2-3 weeks in Uganda and do various safaris and outdoor activities every few days while staying in Kampala in between em.
Would love to be in a walkable area or near a strip/street with fun nightlife and things to do. Definitely not a club person or anything that “high energy” but love grabbing a drink, seeing live music, checking out interesting markets, etc. Figured it couldn’t hurt to directly ask locals what they thought would be the best area for me to stay in to have that close by, thank you in advance!

Completed school in June awaiting grad in Jan. am a software dev. I feel we have people who are like me or who were once like me. am wondering how you hold up during times of uncertainty when you have/had no job bills looking at you and questioning yourself how did you or how do you keep going. You know one day it's going to work out but the day isn't coming. The brokeness when you weren't or you aren't working and you didn't/don't want to beg how do you keep up. Honestly, I feel am tired and it's beginning to test my integrity. hundreds of applications a few interviews no offers clapping for friends who are winning but deep down not ok. People who are or who were in a similar situation what did u do?

I have noticed oppo designs nice mid-range phones but with slightly high costs. A new oppo reno 16 as an example can land you a good used galaxy s23/24 ultra depending on a dealer. How do Oppo phones compare to the samsung galaxy? I am specifically referring to their mid-range models. Reno 13 through to reno 16. And maybe a hint about their flagships like the find x9 pro, etc. Thank you.

I have seen a few posts about some individuals looking for jobs and opportunities, but has anyone thought of coming up with an errand service? Someone who picks and delivers parcels, either from outside kampala to within, or even better, someone who receives parcels and delivers to various persons outside Uganda? and yes i understand some contraband and illegal items can be sent and the errand person is suspect number 1 but every job has it's risks and it's about calculating the risk and placing specific safeguards. If you can access a motorbike, even better to move around with. I personally might need someone to help me ship Ugandan crafts via postal service (Kenyan and Rwandan postal services are quite expensive, and unreliable for one country).

So I have been doing research of wheat flour in Uganda. As a passionate baker, been experimenting but also asking other bakers. So far, I think I now have a general ranking, this is how it stands:
Have used this more for chapattis and also mandazi. Works so well, love that you get out more chappatis and the dough is easy to work with. Also love their packs
Found it more suited for mandazi and daddies, not so much on chapati. Also not very versatile
These almost tie at same ranking. More versatile but do not really have a specific niche
Just okay. But not that consistent
Will share a full detailed review with photos and some in-house tests I did

When public records move online and become instantly searchable, does “public” still mean the same thing — or have we lost the practical obscurity that once protected personal privacy?
Most of us assume that once information is “public,” privacy concerns disappear. Yet when court records, property deeds, company filings or old news stories become instantly searchable, something important changes. What was once practically obscure — buried in physical files that required time and effort to find — is now only a few keystrokes away.
Herman T. Tavani, in Ethics and Technology and his work on search engines, calls this the problem of “privacy in public.” Search technology and digitised records allow personal information to be located, aggregated and reassembled far more easily than before. The ethical issue is not that the information was secret, but that individuals lose meaningful control over how widely and in what context it circulates.
Uganda’s Data Protection and Privacy Act, Cap. 97, recognises this tension. While the Act permits collection from public records in certain cases, it still requires fairness, lawfulness, purpose limitation, and that data remain adequate and not excessive. The constitutional right to privacy under Article 27 continues to apply. Making records searchable does not automatically remove all protection against how that data is later used.
Real-world examples show the stakes. The U.S. Supreme Court’s recognition of “practical obscurity” in Department of Justice v. Reporters Committee (1989) highlighted the difference between scattered paper records and a single searchable dossier. Mugshot websites and open court databases have enabled harassment long after cases ended. In Europe, the “right to be forgotten” rulings against Google showed how old public information can continue shaping a person’s life when it stays highly visible online.
The result is a quiet erosion of personal space. Information that was public in theory becomes persistently public in practice. Protecting privacy here requires more than assuming “public equals free for all.” It demands careful design of online record systems, clearer limits on secondary uses, and respect for the standards already set in Uganda’s data protection law.

Hi everyone. I'm a 23-year-old software engineer in Kampala and things are tight now, a client payment got delayed and fell behind on rent, and I received an eviction notice with a deadline today. I'm trying to sort things without losing my home.
Anyone help. I'm not asking for charity. I'm looking for a project I can start right away, like a website, Native app, a web app, or automation, and I'll prioritise it and deliver fast. If you need something built, or know someone who does, a message or an introduction would mean a lot. Even a small paid job helps.
Thank you for reading, and I'm happy to answer any questions. Ciao 👋🏾
