Any UND Ph.D. students affected by the new Graduate PLUS grandfathering rules?
I'm wondering if any other UND Ph.D. students have been affected by the new Graduate PLUS loan rules.
UND is using a four-year expected-time-to-credential limit to determine grandfathered eligibility. This seems to create problems for students who have been enrolled for more than four years but are still completing their dissertations.
Has anyone been denied Graduate PLUS funding because of this four-year rule, even though they were previously eligible and are still enrolled?
I'm especially interested in hearing whether anyone has received a different explanation from UND Financial Aid or successfully requested reconsideration.
Just trying to see whether other students are dealing with the same situation. Thanks!
