The Halloween Megathread

It’s that time of year again when the leaves change colors and the debate over Halloween begins anew.

Is it merely a holiday centered around children dressing up as superheroes and collecting candy?

Or is it something more nefarious: a demonic holiday created by Satan to trick TrueChristians into worshipping him.

Whichever side you’re on, this is the place to make your case.

Please note, all other posts about Halloween will be removed.

"By silencing me, you're censoring God's Word" and other nonsense complaints.

While I hope this doesn't apply to the vast majority of you, it's worth giving a public warning that the false-martyr attitude and other forms of arrogant-assault in modmail are unacceptable and will likely result in a ban, or if a temp-ban was already issued it'll become permanent.

We're constantly seeing in modmail situations where a person was communicating a good and godly truth, but in an arrogant and condescending way (although often-times they're speaking falsity anyway, so there's that too). We typically remove these posts due to Rule 2 (inciting without value) or Rule 5 (lack reasonable quality), yet these users complain to us: "You're just trying to censor God's Word." No. We're censoring those who communicate it in a way that's going to tarnish the name of Christ and the Church.

Other times, users will be posting bizarre and esoteric issues and then complain that we're "censoring God's Word" by not letting them teach their wacko views without actually exegeting Scripture to explore if there's a genuine foundation for the belief.

For a few fun examples just from the last 24hrs of modmail ...

Could I please get an explanation why my post, "firmament," was removed? ... Reddit prohibits deceptive impersonation. Creating a subreddit or account that intentionally mimics an authentic religious community to mislead users, spoof group identity, or cause confusion can lead to community bans or account suspensions ... Reddit's Content Policy strictly forbids targeting individuals or groups with harassment, targeted abuse, or inciting hatred. Using a mock community to demean or attack people based on their religious beliefs crosses the line into reportable harassment.

It goes on to accuse us of "community interference" and "setting up a community for the purpose of trolling" and "hate speech" ... because we didn't allow a post on "the firmament." In a follow-up comment: "That is fine for your discriminating against Christians I have reported each mod to reddit."

You banned me because you're not true christians You want to be a part of a subreddit , because you want to be a moderator because you want control You're no better than the pharisees in the bible Shame on you I don't need your approval If I was lying , then you would let me stay. But because I'm a truth teller you hate me. None of you might know , Jesus , all of you are false

This one was because he made a post complaining about other subs (which we typically don't allow), so he got a 1-day ban. Yeah, it became permanent after that modmail message.

[Message that warranted a 1-day warning ban]: People with the civic arsenal of an ant like yourself should probably just ...

[Modmail "Appeal"]: You know who else they tried to silence for speaking the truth?

Yeah, not silenced for "the truth." Silenced for flagrantly mocking another user.

The Reverse

Notably, by contrast, we have a number of users who will pop into modmail with things like ...

Sorry, I realize I got a bit heated. Internet debate does that to me sometimes. I'll try harder to speak with others respectfully going forward.

... and for those people we're typically quite sympathetic and often-times undo the warning-ban immediately because they're showing good-faith and self-awareness. Now, I had to make that up because after digging through mod-mail to find a real example, I got bored looking for one. We do get those from time to time, but the self-righteous "you're all fake-Christians because you're censoring me" is so much more common that it's hard to wade through and find the decent replies. But the point stands: show a little humility and respect and that goes a very long way.

CONCLUSION

As long as I've been moderating this subreddit, it's still mind-boggling to me how many people EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. think that their own words in an internet-debate are tantamount to "God's Word" and that any act against them is an act of defiance against God Himself. It's the epitome of bad-faith engagement with this community. It will be treated with the greatest severity going forward.

We can't realistically find every person who acts this way, nor are we asking you to report everyone who you think is arrogant in a debate (please don't do that, as I'm sure it will result in over-reporting and 9/10 times you're not as innocent in the debate as you think). But if it does come across our path, be forewarned that this line of reasoning will not help you here.

Video games are not sinful

I’ve seen a few posts here recently talking about how sinful video games are and quite frankly I find that ridiculous. There was a post recently about how magic in Skyrim, a fantasy game, is sinful. Where is the line? If I’m playing legend of Zelda am I sinning because there are goddesses? Am I sinning when I defeat Ganon? What about dungeons and dragons? If I’m a cleric of Lathander am I sinning because my character worships a different god? Someone who thinks otherwise can maybe explain their thought process.

I deleted Cyberpunk 2077. Has anyone else felt that a game was interfering with their faith and it had to go ?

I deleted Cyberpunk because it goes overboard with depictions of nudity, violence, and general sinful things. I could be walking to a mission and then hear sex moaning as that was part of an ad in the game. I ride in an elevator and see "The Watson W****" or "Three Mouths, One Desire", stuff like that. I interacted with dialogue in one woman and accidentally stumbled into the most vivid sex scene ever in a game.

I also did not find the game compelling even when I tried to block that stuff out and play the game. Sorry but this stuff finally pushed me overboard and I deleted it and I don't want to play it again. Just pure sin and filth and I am no stranger to M rated games, but this one pushed every button for me.

However, so many people praise it and I am curious if others felt the same way for my stated reasons ?

Accountability. Conviction. Consequences. Only God can fulfill and complete you.

• Upvotes

I see so much lack of accountability in the sub. I have to call this out.

Say for example post on "virgin, non-virgin". People who didn't save their v-cards, seems so bitter against those whom did save it. While being a virgin does not make you superior or a better christian. There are consequences to your actions. You are affected in faith, mind and body. You not only affect yourself but even those around like your spouse, children, community. So after all this, you can't say things are back to normal just because you have received forgiveness from God. You are forgiven before the throne but earthly consequence are to follow. Just like King David, he sinned and he repented and was forgiven by God but he faced earthly consequences. So please do not normalize sin. Sin is sin. Face the heat of your actions, seek God even more and let Him work in you.

Having a mindset like "oh God would forgive anyway" "oh other people have done it worse, mine ain't that bad" "other have done it too". What does it matter to you what others have done? Look and reflect on yourself.

We are to be in the right attitude and spirit.

On a closing note, I do want to share this hopeful experience. I've been humbled, disciplined and restored by the Lord's great love for me. Though I face the consequence of my sins, God's presence and faithfulness and love in my life overpower all these which no marriage, life achievement, etc can replace.

Seek Jesus. Talk to Jesus, walk with Jesus.

What is your opinion on women covering their head?

• Upvotes

It was like a wedding ring at the time, so I don't think it is needed anymore, but I am curious about your thoughts on them. I have talked to several women in my life about wearing one and they are all completely against it without much of a reason, so if you are against them I would like to know why

I feel like I cannot be accepted as a Christian

I know this will be extremely controversial and I will
probably get a lot of hate but I’m ready for it.

I am 18F and my bf is 20M. We are both Christian but it has only been a few years since turning to god. We both became sexually active before this time and so still are.

I know that it is a sin before marriage and we try not to but we do. And I just want to know if this makes me a horrible person. I know he is the one I will marry so that’s not even my concern. I just need some guidance and I don’t really have anybody else in my life following the same religion.

The Gospel, but Cool

Here's the actual deal:

I'm a leader at a High School Bible study, and next week I have to prepare a lesson. This year, we're looking into studying topics. Since it's still early-ish in our year (we started back up 2 weeks ago) I would like to get the Gospel in people's minds as the core of what we practice. I know that many of the students coming will have already heard the Gospel, and really just want to get them to talk about something (They haven't been super talkative this year.)

As of late, we've been watching a short video to go along with our studies, but I'm at a bit of a loss for wjat to pick with this one. I mean, the Good News is everything. I'd like to present it with some "freshness" if you know what I'm saying. It's not that I want a different version of the Gospel (please no), but perhaps approaching it in a way that the kids aren't expecting or used to. For instance, I was thinking about going heavy on the law, the suffering savior, Logos, etc... But I just don't know if that's the right call. If you've got any tips or resources you can point me to, I'd appreciate it very much :)

TLDR; Hoping to share the Gospel and I'm looking for fresh ways and resources to approach the subject with in order to promote discussion. Thanks!

P.S. Sorry for the clickbait title haha!

Extra info if it helps:

  • Any videos can be up to about 10 minutes, but it's not necessary to include a video at all.
  • The discussion time afterwards is generally about 30 minutes.
  • The church confesses the Creeds.
  • The church group as a whole is a little quiet.
  • It's my second year doing this, so any guidance is useful guidance.

Any other anime watchers get convicted about so many shows??

After I found God I realized so many animes I watched were just weird soft core porn as anyone who watches would know how alot of them sexualize women alot with the weird moaning constantly and figures they give everyone.

Anyway I had to give up Black clover and Hells Paradise. Felt like a sacrifice cause I usually only like certain shows but afterwards I forgot about it and just through about sharing.

Also can't watch 7 deadly sins either that one is super sexual I tried a bit but wayy too much.

Idk what it is with anime but why is it sooo sexual alot of the time lol.

I'm tired of christians from social media that scares believers.

They all say "JESUS IS COMING VERY SOON LAST WARNING"; "REPENT HE IS COMING" just because they had dreams and visions and talked with God. But does God says WHEN he will come? No. Myself as a believer I had a dream with the first trumpet and a vision with the black moon and sun from God this year. But people have those since YEARS. Jesus said even in the scripture that he is coming soon. Would be our lifetime? Could be. Only God knows. Could not be our lifetime? Could be. Only God knows as well.

Those "prophets" just scare people and they enter in a state like "oh no I need to do something or I would go to hell" instead of focusing on their walk with Christ and do not worry.

People who tells us to stock food are just... Ppl said this even in 2025 and they were talking about the rapture. Can we stop?

I myself entered on this state of alert at first but it becomes penibile because I started to count the years and things and the next sunday the pastor was talking about the coming of Christ and that is not our business to think about the year or the day or things like that. And was looking at me directly so I know God spoke to me through this man.

Is Sheol the physical death that Jesus conquered?

• Upvotes

Sheol is mentioned in the Old Testament as a place everyone seems to go when they die, regardless of whether they followed God or not. There's even one instance of a witch who brought a prophet out of Sheol to deliver a prophecy (which is a whole other deal- like, why is a witch able to do this?)

It doesn't seem to be mentioned in the New Testament at all, so I'm wondering if this is one of the forms of death Jesus overcame, so no one goes to Sheol after death?

Does God actually love me?

ive been struggling so much with love lately. im not a loving person. im always angry and fighting. im always stressed and sad. im just not Christ like at all. i pray and read the Bible but i honestly just dont see a change in me. i want this all to go away. i just dont think God actually loves me. Christians in my church have been so rude and disrespectful to me. petty stuff happened. just a lot of things that have hurt me and i live in constant mental torment. all i do is think about the past, about what people have said to me, how much ive been judged, all conversations and arguments ive had. just everything and im going crazy. when i think of all this i get so hurt because my brothers and sisters in my hard times hurt me so much and when ive gone to God i just never felt heard or loved. i felt like i cried and prayed and the devil was around laughing and happy that im just in so much pain. i just dont believe what people have done to me was right and i feel like God agreed with the way they treated me. im trying to get closer to God but its hard. i want to be set free completely. i stopped going to church because of everything that happened because i dont want to be judged and hurt anymore. but i feel like im gonna go to hell because i dont agree with them or because God wants me to be like them….

Don't Be A Donkey!

Don't Be A Donkey

Don't let no man take your crown! -Rev. 3:11,

• Balak sent out for Balaam, a prophet from Mesopotainia because he did not believe he could defeat the migrating Israelites by military force. The king offered the prophet wealth and honor to place a curse on the Israelites. Balaam told the King to build 21 alters to offer sacrifices of one young bull and a ram. Rather than sacrificing to pagan idols, his intention was to offer burnt sacrifices to The Lord in hopes he'd help him.

As believers, we sometimes think we're doing the right thing in the heat of the moment, an opportunity comes but due to pride, we miss the mark and find ourselves in trouble with God. Being a hero just because you believe you are doing something right doesn't mean we are.

• Because of Balaam's rebellion, God became angry. Instead of Balaam trying to intimidate and curse the migrant forces, God stole his mouth and divinely blessed them instead. After Balaam realized what had just happened, he decided to run away and was expecting a reward despite what he had done.

It's crazy how believers go on a little mission trip and they get the message wrong and when corrected, we just do the smooth move thing and go with it while deceiving ourselves. We aren't fooling God though.

• God sent an angel with a drawn sword, ready to kill Balaam. The donkey could only see the Angel. Balaam tried commanding the donkey to go past the angel but the donkey kept refusing. Balaam became angry and beat the donkey for not doing what he wanted and then God made the donkey speak;

- The donkey asked Balaam why she was struck three times. This caused the prophet's spiritual blindness to be exposed. That donkey just saved that fools life (Imagine That).

We can go through some really bad trials if we abandon our prayer life and our faith becomes stagnant.

We must read and study our bible and put faith into practice so we aren't being deceived by others or deceiving ourselves.

• Numbers 32:23:

“But if you won’t do so, look out! You will be sinning against the LORD. Be certain of this, that your sin will catch up to you!

No marriage in heaven kind of makes me sad?

I’m talking to God about this, does anyone else feel the same? I feel like I feel this way because I don’t love God enough. I feel like if I never got married I wouldn’t feel this way.

I love my husband so much I can’t imagine a life without him, would that be idolizing him? How can I stop? I want to love my father more, but how do I love them both at the same time like I am just confused.

Is having Same Sex attraction a sin?

I’ve always been exclusively attracted to the same gender all my life and have been living in celibacy for the most part apart from pornography and one encounter in the past and I’m willing to stay celibate. The question I have is whether God is going to shun me for simply having temptations. I’ve seen some Christians say that Same Sex attraction in itself is a sin even if not acted on and if that’s true, what are Christians who struggle with Same Sex attraction supposed to do? Accept defeat, act on those desires and just stop following God because He doesn’t want a relationship with us? We already struggle enough with being a small minority in the Church and being judged for existing, like I don’t really come off as feminine as much as I did when I was a teenager but when I was younger I used to act more feminine and got told I was going to hell all while being celibate and crying for God to turn me straight and normal. Maybe some people have the misconception of it being a choice but if there was a medication that cured homosexuality most of us would take it.

How can I enhance my spiritual gift?

I gave my life to Christ back in 2024 and since then, there has been instances where I feel like he is telling me to check in on people or to encourage someone else to check in on their friends.

For example, one day I had a strong feeling to tell my wife this “Check on your friend and see how she is doing. If she says nothing is wrong don’t believe her.” Come to find out she was actually going through a tough time and she did try to say nothing is wrong at first.

How can I enhance this? I would like to use it more to help people!

Can someone help me with Numbers 23:19?

It says:

"God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?"

The first half of this is niggling at me a bit. I believe that Jesus is God in the flesh, fully God and fully human, I believe in the Holy Trinity. However the fact that this says "God is not a man that He should lie" and also specifically says "neither the son of man", which Jesus is later referred to, is messing with me.

The idea that it's just because Jesus hadn't arrived on earth yet doesn't really do it for me because I believe the whole Bible is God-breathed and I believe every word is intentional and symbolic/meaningful in some way. But I'm struggling to find the connection on this one.

Can anyone help me understand?

New Christian, what psalms should i memorize to get rid of physical demonic oppression?

I had a friend come visit me the other day and before he entered the home, when i saw him through the window, I felt so scared. That was my first mistake - maybe I should not have been scared? i felt like there was a demonic presence.

The next day I got a swollen lymph node. I never got a swollen lymph node before so i suspected it is oppression.

God healed many illnesses I had before miraculously just through prayer. I prayed for this swollen lymph node to go away quickly but its still here. I think i need to memorize some psalms specifically for physical oppression and it will strengthen my faith as well. Is this right? I think so because I am new so there is a lot I dont know.

Please pray for my swollen lymph node to heal quickly so that I can focus on my works.

Thank you

No better time than now to show the Love of Christ

I've been going through a strange year. I don't know how to describe it, I just have been feeling off. I don't know what I've been searching for, but something about life over the last while has been getting to me and I can't quite exactly put a finger on it, though I think all the crazy talk about recent technology and influencers pushing it is a part of my mental blocker.

At work today, I finally heard our leadership indicate that "AI can do most of our work" so we need to get with it so to speak. Whether good or bad, I'm still not certain. AI is just a tool, but it does impact a lot of things from children to working professionals. One thing I've noticed though is that as more and more people look to AI, it's being utilized as a full-on replacement, not just a simple augmentation to their normal skills. At least in the field I'm in, the question of whether we should be using it or not seems to be a foregone conclusion and if you don't yield to it, then you're going to be replaced. I'm not certain on that one either, but regardless of my thoughts that's just how the field is going. But, I've seen the worst parts of it impacting the professionals I've worked with. It's being used to remove themselves from the labor of what they do. They can just leave everything to the AI - writing their needed essays, task summaries, or whatever. Passing it to other people who likely just summarize the material by another AI that then gets sent to someone's inbox and AI processes that. Even now, I wonder if AI is getting to a point where ads and other content on normal websites is just going to be for AI. The PC market is leaving human consumers behind, preferring to target enterprises with AI agentic GPUs to the detriment of most normal consumers. Working professionals I know in my industry, businesses themselves, it just seems more and more society in my country is heading to a point where it's all about the agents over the person. It's all about the mighty dollar coming in rather than the workers putting in the work. It's about getting that bottom line higher and higher, even if it means replacing everyone else with an automated robot. Sure, it might be good for stakeholders, but it's not good for everyone who is trying to survive physically and mentally. And you get to a point where you're so far gone from the product you're trying to make that you're not even making it. People just copy-pasting the work of an AI and passing it off as their own.

I just see more and more that the value in the society of the future, at least where people actually congregate, will be in recognizing and seeing each of us the people God made us to be. Flaws and All. Like, the flaws make us beautiful. The flaws make us who we are and they help us find the Lord in various ways. I think as society more and more devolves itself into a robotic borg centered around money, the more opportunity there is to spread the love of Christ in some way. To show the people being replaced or depressed or just mentally disturbed by the onslaught of the race towards some mythical AI superintelligence leaving us all behind that they do matter. That their thoughts, their minds, their souls are important. It's important for all of us to remember that we are unique, we are valuable because God made us so. No matter what we're doing, how we're doing it, God doesn't care about the bottom line, the dollar sign. He cares about each of us, he made us who we are. He took that time to make us in the womb, breathe life into us, and set us on a path towards his kingdom. Yes, tough times might be ahead, uncertainty and doubt of the future and how it all plays out will remain and only get more chaotic over time, but I think the best thing to do is to remember: You matter. You are Loved. You as a person are valuable to the world. Your existence means something. Christ died for your soul. Don't forget that.

And, I think as more of this happens, it becomes more important that we all share that with others. That it's ok to not be perfect, pushing out millions of products every second. Our lives are not meant for that and they never will be. God's plan for our lives doesn't center or focus on those things.

I hope God blesses you and everyone else in some way to find him. I believe we all need him, his love, and connection. Now more than ever.

Our Service To God

I hope that I did a good job of covering this topic. There's plenty more that can be added but I didn't want to make it too long. Feel free to share what's on your heart in the comments below.

• God gives us ministering spirits (Angels) to serve, protect and help us.

We have the Holy Spirit that teaches us everything we need to know to help people understand the intent of God's love.

• 1st Corinthians 2:12-16:

Now, we have not received the spirit of the world but the Spirit who comes from God, so that we can understand the things that were freely given to us by God. We don’t speak about these things with words taught us by human wisdom, but with words taught by the Spirit, as we explain spiritual things to spiritual people. A person who isn’t spiritual doesn’t accept the things of God’s Spirit, for they are nonsense to him. He can’t understand them because they are spiritually evaluated. The spiritual person evaluates everything but is subject to no one else’s evaluation. For “Who has known the mind of the Lord so that he can advise him?” However, we have the mind of the Messiah.

• Treasure in Clay Jars; True servants do not avoid their responsibilities.

  1. 2nd Corinthians 4:5-7:

For we do not preach ourselves, but rather Jesus the Messiah as Lord, and ourselves as merely your servants for Jesus’ sake. For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” has shone in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of God’s glory in the face of Jesus the Messiah. But we have this treasure in clay jars to show that its extraordinary power comes from God and not from us.

• The Holy Spirit Controls Us and keeps us accountable so that we are good representatives and witness. This is our earnest desire and devotion to God.

  1. 2nd Corinthians 5:11-21:

Therefore, since we know what it means to fear the Lord, we try to persuade people. We ourselves are perfectly known to God. I hope we are also really known to your consciences. We are not recommending ourselves to you again but are giving you a reason to be proud of us, so that you can answer those who are proud of outward things rather than inward character. So if we were crazy, it was for God; if we are sane, it is for you. The love of the Messiah controls us, for we are convinced of this: that one person died for all people; therefore, all people have died. He died for all people, so that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for the one who died and rose for them. So then, from now on we do not think of anyone from a human point of view. Even if we did think of the Messiah from a human point of view, we don’t think of him that way anymore. Therefore, if anyone is in the Messiah, he is a new creation. Old things have disappeared, and—look!—all things have become new! All of this comes from God, who has reconciled us to himself through the Messiah and has given us the ministry of reconciliation, for through the Messiah, God was reconciling the world to himself by not counting their sins against them. He has committed his message of reconciliation to us. Therefore, we are the Messiah’s representatives, as though God were pleading through us. We plead on the Messiah’s behalf: “Be reconciled to God!” God made the one who did not know sin to be sin for us, so that God’s righteousness would be produced in us.

• We are the habitation of God. A Holy Temple and are being built up together in unity and have union with the Lord.

  1. Ephesians 2:18-22::

For through him, both of us have access to the Father by one Spirit. That is why you are no longer strangers and foreigners but fellow citizens with the saints and members of God’s household, having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, the Messiah Jesus himself being the cornerstone. In union with him the whole building is joined together and rises into a holy sanctuary for the Lord. You, too, are being built in him, along with the others, into a place for God’s Spirit to dwell.

  1. 1st Peter 1:13-20:

Therefore, prepare your minds for action, keep a clear head, and set your hope completely on the grace to be given you when Jesus, the Messiah, is revealed. As obedient children, do not be shaped by the desires that used to influence you when you were ignorant. Instead, be holy in every aspect of your life, just as the one who called you is holy. For it is written, “You must be holy, because I am holy.” If you call “Father” the one who judges everyone impartially according to what they have done, you must live in reverent fear as long as you are strangers in a strange land. For you know that it was not with perishable things like silver or gold that you have been ransomed from the worthless way of life handed down to you by your ancestors, but with the precious blood of the Messiah, like that of a lamb without blemish or defect. On the one hand, he was foreknown before the creation of the world, but on the other hand, he was revealed at the end of time for your sake.

  1. 1st Peter 1:22-25:

Now that you have obeyed the truth and have purified your souls to love your brothers sincerely, you must love one another intensely and with a pure heart. For you have been born again, not by a seed that perishes but by one that cannot perish—by the living and everlasting word of God. For “All human life is like grass, and all its glory is like a flower in the grass. The grass dries up and the flower drops off, but the word of the Lord lasts forever.” Now this word is the good news that was announced to you.

• We are commanded to love one another. Our love has conditions but, we should practice love as Jesus demonstrated. Discipleship is important and its a displine we should also teach. Our identity is found in Jesus and we easily see other believers because of the light of his glory.

  1. John 13:34-35:

I’m giving you a new commandment…to love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another. This is how everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”

  1. Leviticus 19:16-18:

“You are not to go around slandering your people. “You are not to stand idle when your neighbor’s life is at stake. I am the LORD. “You are not to hate your relative in your heart. Rebuke your neighbor if you must, but you are not to incur guilt on account of him. “You are not to seek vengeance or hold a grudge against the descendants of your people. Instead, love your neighbor as yourself. I am the LORD.”

- Finishing Touches -

• There's a lot of hurting people out there and even so more of an opportunity to bring people to Christ. The day's we're living, we should be willing to go against any evil and counter it with the Love of Christ.

• Our Weapons Against The Enemy Are As Follows.

  1. Humility – Combats Pride (recognizing the truth about oneself and God's grace instead of self-exaltation).

  2. Charity (or Generosity) – Combats Greed (practicing stewardship and sharing material goods).

  3. Chastity – Combats Lust (exercising proper control and moral order over sexual desires).

  4. Kindness (or Gratitude/Love of neighbor) – Combats Envy (rejoicing in the well-being of others rather than resenting it).

  5. Temperance – Combats Gluttony (practicing moderation and self-control in food, drink, and consumption).

  6. Patience (or Meekness/Forgiveness) – Combats Wrath/Anger (letting go of grudges, vengeance, and bitter retaliation).

  7. Diligence – Combats Sloth (maintaining a steady work ethic and spiritual commitment).

(Prayer)

God, we thank you for your Son and everyone else who gave their life so that we can live without the fear of death. Thank you for your patience in your handling of your creation and giving us the time we need to become closer to you. Thank you for helping us to understand your love and also thank you for your devotion to keep us out of harms way. We are blessed beyond our own imagination of your matchless name and the kindness and goodness you have shown. Please forgive us of any trespass on your heart and any boundary we've crossed within humanity where we weren't welcome. Restore our territories and give us the courage to stand up against the enemy while fully trusting that we have nothing to worry about. Cause our lips and hands to glorify the Body of Christ as well as any unbelieving soul for the sake of your will to be made manifest unto your creation. Create in us a strong desire to do the right thing continuously so that we endure to the end.

Thank you Lord,

Amen

i''m confused in my relatioship with God

So I was raised in a Christian household. I'm 19 now and have found myself in a weird spot in my faith. I've leaned more Protestant my whole life, but my brother is debating between being Catholic or Orthodox, and my friend loves the Protestants and the Catholics, and she wants to be 50/50 cause she says they both have their own down and up sides. Being around them has made me question some things about which church is the most correct, if that makes sense. I went to a catholic church with my friend, and it was amazing. We didn't sit for Mass or anything, but after looking around, we sat in the pews and just prayed for an hour or so, and the amount of peace and connection I felt to God was something I haven't felt in a protestant church. I also visited a Greek Orthodox monastery with said friend and brother, and it was so cool to see the monks living this life devoted to Christ in a way that not a lot of other people do. My parents are nondenominational, and they're trying to be supportive of my brother making his faith his own, and I don't know; I kinda feel guilty for questioning some of these things. I don't know if anyone can give me some advice. Anything would be greatly appreciated. I have a good personal relationship with Jesus, I'd say (I'm human and mess up, so it's by no means perfect), but I know I need to pick a church because the Bible says not to give up meeting together. And so I need a community, but I dont know. I know no church or denomination is perfect, either.

Still a Sinner. Still Loved.

I’m writing this letter to say that I used to be a sinner. But that’s not right. That’s incorrect. I’d be lying. I am a sinner. I’ll always be a sinner and I’ll never be pure. But in the eyes of God I’m worth something no matter what. He loves me even though I’m flawed. I never knew that until now. Starting from the past I always had a strong relationship with God. I always believed in God. I never had a moment I haven’t. I always had a good connection even though I wasn’t brought up in a religious family. I had a father that was Muslim and a mother that was Catholic but I was never forced to pick. I just knew that God was real. I enjoyed religion class at school and talking about it. Then as I got older I strayed away. Due to drugs. Due to just growing up a bad way. Selling drugs, being a drug addict. From 12 to 42, 43, pretty much I lived that lifestyle. Until I got sober two years ago off of opiates. And then just recently off crack cocaine, five months almost, then I relapsed. Two months clean, half relapse, and now I’m sober again. And I’m doing it different this time because I decided to turn to the Lord Jesus Christ and ask for help. I don’t know if it was exactly the day before or the same day that I got sober, I decided to submit and I asked Him. I asked Him to help me become sober. To make me a new creation. I always thought before that meant I would become new right away and be fixed. But this time I understood differently. That He made me a new creation, but it’s a work in progress. Because He knows best. If He made me brand new all at once I would still have my flaws. It’s like a person that’s put in a medically induced coma for addiction, they wake up physically not addicted but mentally still addicted. And the Lord is omnipotent. He knows everything. He knows more than everything. And He knows I couldn’t handle that. So I have to grow into my new creation. This time it’s different. It’s a lot different. I’ve never had this feeling before. And I’ve decided to have a relationship with the Lord, not a religion. A relationship. And it’s okay with people that have religion. I’m not judging anybody. Whatever brings you closer to the Lord, that’s okay. That’s more power to you. I just chose to have a relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ and it’s working for me. Whatever way you choose, more power to you. As long as you can connect with the Lord I’m happy for you. Off topic, I pray for everyone. Past, present and future. Especially people that don’t have relationships with the Lord, or the devil has a grip on. I pray hardest for you. Because the Lord doesn’t put anybody in hell. It’s our decisions. So I pray the hardest for the people that have turned away or have been deceived by the devil to turn away from God. My prayers go out to everyone, especially those ones. Anyways back to my topic. This time it’s a lot different. Now I have a relationship. I talk to God every day, multiple times a day, just off the top of my head. Not a structured time. When I wake up. As I’m going through the day. Whenever I feel like talking to Him. It’s different than I’ve ever felt. I’m the happiest I’ve ever felt. I remember when I was younger I was very envious, jealous and spiteful of people that had things. As I got older I didn’t want to be like that anymore so I decided to change. I started by seeing one thing positive out of negative situations. Then when I got the hang of that, two things positive. Then three. So now when something negative happens I see multiple positives. Now there’s no negative to me, because without the negatives there wouldn’t be positives. It changed my perspective. But there’s one thing that always bothered me. When I seen people that have relationships with the Lord and how happy they were, I was spiteful. I was jealous. So I humiliated them. I made fun of them. Because I was envious but I wouldn’t admit it, because I craved what they had. I was just a piece of garbage. I wanted what they had but I was spiteful and envious so I degraded them. And I feel really bad for doing that. I apologize. I wish I could go back and take it all back and I can’t. The best thing I can do is say I’m truly sorry for doing that to you, and I ask for your forgiveness. But my point is now that I have a relationship with the Lord, I understand why they’re so happy and forgiving. Because when you have a relationship with the Lord and you have a meaningful one, you can’t do anything but be happy and be forgiving. It’s the most peaceful thing you can ever feel. There’s nothing on earth that can make you feel this way. Not money. Nothing. Nothing that touches you can make you feel the same way as having a relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. That’s from the bottom of my heart. With my addiction every day I build my relationship with the Lord, my recovery becomes stronger and stronger. I don’t even have cravings anymore. I don’t have temptations. I don’t think about my addiction. The only time I think about it is in a positive way, about how long I’ve been sober. And that’s saying something, because opiates is a hard addiction. Crack cocaine, believe it or not, is even harder, because there is no substitute for crack cocaine. It’s pretty much you doing it yourself. And through the Lord I found a doctor that finally actually helped me. Through the Lord I’ve had so many things happen in my life, creativity through my work, so many blessings that weren’t possible before when the devil had a hold of me. Just in this last month, month and a half, my life has changed 180. I don’t even know how to say it more than that, if that’s even possible. I understand now when people say ask the Lord and He will grant it. Walk with the Lord and He walks with you. It’s not walk with the Lord. It’s the Lord walks with you. No matter what, He’s always walking with me. I just decided to walk ahead of Him and ignore Him. But He never left me. He’s always walked with me. And I’m so grateful and thankful to Him. I thank Him every day. I say bless You Lord for blessing me. Thank You Lord for letting me be able to bless. Thank You for blessing me Lord. And I always say to Him Lord, I know You don’t need anything from me. I can never do anything that You need. But I still say, if there’s anything I can do for You Lord, just ask upon me, or work through me like You do. If I can help somebody, if I can do anything, and I mean it, let me do it. I don’t know what people are going to think of this, but the first thing I’m doing when I reach heaven, because I’m following my hero, the person I idolize, Jesus Christ. What He taught and what He did. Not just in His death but more so in His life. The things He did in His life amaze me, because He knew He was going to be forsaken from the very start, and He knew who was going to forsake Him, and He still decided to do good things. Not judge them. Not take vengeance on them. But wash their feet and show them kindness, even though He knew how it was going to end. That to me is so big. So the first thing I want to do when I get to heaven, if it’s allowed, I want to wash His feet. Out of respect. I don’t know how people are going to take it but that’s my own desire. Everybody has their own opinion and I appreciate whatever you think. But that’s what I would like to do, just to give thanks. Anyways I’m going on. I want to get more connected with the Lord, so I want to start having church ceremonies. But I don’t agree with the way the church is run. I agree with people getting together and talking about the Lord and sharing their experiences. Now I don’t know too much about the Bible. I’m just learning. I never read the Bible and I’m embarrassed by that. But it’s a process for me and I’m going to read the Bible. It’s a work in progress. And I’m going to learn the Bible to the point where I don’t need the Bible to quote scripture. I’m going to build my armor so the enemy can’t attack me, and if he does I’ll have my armor ready and my sword to fight back, without needing to read anything, just off the top of my head. That’s my goal. But my point is, it’s okay that people go to church and agree with it. We all have our own opinions and I don’t judge anybody, and I hope I don’t get judged for it. But if you do judge me, that’s okay. I don’t mean to be arrogant by saying I forgive. I’m saying I have no ill will towards you for judging me. Before I even knew anything about the Bible I had this idea: myself and maybe a few people come to my home, cook breakfast, we have breakfast together, we read scripture, we talk about scripture, we talk about our experiences with the Lord Jesus Christ while we eat breakfast. I found out later that’s how the church used to be run with the apostles. And that just hit me. I have no idea about anything in the Bible, how it was run, but how did I come to that conclusion? There’s a few things that happened like that where I have no idea about the Bible, about the way things were done, Bible quotes, Bible scripture, and the things I’ve been saying have been on point. You can say it’s a coincidence, whatever you want. I don’t believe in that anymore, because there is no coincidence. Everything’s through God, Lord Jesus Christ. So I feel blessed that I’m able to think the way I think. So that’s what I’m starting to do. This Sunday with a friend, we’re going to cook breakfast and start our own at-home church. And we’re going to save money together, and the money we save together we’re going to help the community with. My goal is to get to five hundred dollars. And I’m going to try to get companies to donate, or at least give us discounts on food, like turkeys. The plan is to get seven or eight turkeys, bags of potatoes, mixed vegetables, cook everything, get a few tables, a tent, and music, and go to places in my hometown that the missions don’t get to, but where people are in need, and go out and feed people. But not out of charity. Out of dignity. To show them that we’re not forced to help you. We’re not a government place. We’re coming to help you because we care about you. Because you’re important. You’re a somebody, you’re not a nobody. And we love you, just like Jesus loves you. You know what I mean? And I hope that’ll change one person’s life. If it changes one person, Jesus, I’m happy. My idea is just to have everybody keep their dignity. I’m going to have a sign that says come eat we got you. It’s not a charity. It’s just food. We’re just feeding, we’re just eating, we’re all friends, we’re just eating. Don’t feel shamed. We all gotta eat. I just want to follow in Jesus footsteps. And one more thing. People look at athletes and movie stars and musicians, rappers, as heroes and idolize them. Not me. My hero, and my idol if I’m allowed to say idol, is Jesus Christ the Lord. And my hero, you might think this is weird, there’s a lady in the States that bought every chicken there was at the store, and everybody got mad at her, I think it was during Thanksgiving, everybody got mad at her and was saying mean things. And the next scene you see her with a table on the street making plates of food, feeding the homeless. That to me is a hero. That’s what I want to be like. I strive to be like that. Not because I want recognition, but because I want people to know that’s the right thing to do, and that’s the work of the Lord. And it’s not me doing it, it’s the Lord working through me. And all the recognition goes to the Lord. I don’t want to be remembered. I want the Lord to be remembered, as He brought one of His workers to us, and thank God for that. Not because of me. I don’t want my name to be known. I want all the praise to go to the Lord Jesus Christ. So I just want to say thank you to everyone that listened to my story. Even the people that don’t agree with it, I appreciate you taking the time. And God bless everybody. And let’s pray for the people that are lost. Just letting you guys know sorry for any mistakes I’m dyslexic thank you God bless you

Was this experience actually a form of abuse? Needing biblical perspective on childhood digital trauma.

I’ve been thinking a lot about my childhood and how I was exposed to interactive adult content back then. When I try to talk about it, worldly people always tell me, "It was just an accident," "It was a mistake," or "You were just a curious kid."

But to be honest, hearing those worldly explanations makes me absolutely sick to my stomach. Saying it was just a "mistake" feels completely wrong and ungodly. It minimizes what actually happened to my soul, my brain, and my psyche. To the child I was back then, there was absolutely no difference between this and being abused by a real person.

As a child, I couldn't differentiate between a real human manipulating me and what was happening on the screen. All I knew was that these women on the screen were telling me to do things, and because it was interactive, I did them. It became a repetitive cycle, an addiction for 16 years since i was 7/8, and it completely bypassed my god-given boundaries. The screen itself took on the role of the abuser, leading me straight into sin and addiction before I even knew what was happening.

It infuriates me how society dismisses this as an "accident," when the reality is that these worldly justifications are covering up how the enemy is destroying our youth. It feels like a massive trap that leads people—especially innocent children—straight into devastating paths of addiction, ruining lives before they even have a chance to grow.

The Bible warns us heavily about those who call evil good, and downplaying this as a simple error feels like an outright lie. Has anyone else experienced this? Is it possible for interactive content to have the exact same traumatic, abusive, and sinful impact on a child's brain as real-world abuse? How do we as biblical Christians stand firm against this watering down of truth and protect the younger generation?

I like this group

I got banned from the politics one, bc of a misunderstanding! I was told I could inquire so I did, and then they said one line and muted me. I even told them they misunderstood what I meant. Does anyone know of another group similar to that one? I liked it too. I’m not looking too much into engaging with non Christians on politics.
