Freight car repairer is thr position I'm trying for.

My step dad's being trying to get me hired on since he thinks I can do the work and get a lot more pay than from my current job. He been there +20 years.

I want to prove myself and to him I can, to learn a new field and work more with my hands rather than a computer.

I don't have experience in the field so how can I nail both the virtual and in person to really wow them?

I work around/in transport trailers loading and unloading, logistics for shipping and receiving and do heavy lifting with some product weighing 40lbs. I've been with the same company for over a decade and know +600 material numbers by heart.

Few days back I got a email for background check from CN for Train Conductor position in GTA. When I about to submit the check my portal got crashed and changed my current address to previous one and now whenever I tried to open the portal it says your recruiter needs to respond for the next steps. I contacted to first advantage support centre. According to them they fixed it already but there is no change in it. I am trying to contact the HR from last 4-5 days for another background check email but nobody is replying to my email. Can someone help me in this situation. Thanks

Were you contacted for an in-person interview, and how soon after the video interview?

Does Norfolk Southern review all HireVue interviews before selecting candidates, or do they contact applicants as they go?

For anyone who was hired or invited to interview, did you have previous railroad experience?

Im currently in the background/medical check up portion of the hiring process for norfolk southern and just sent a in my health summary. My question is would lower back pain from 2022 and anxiety from 2019 on my medical records disqualify me from getting hired?

I am trying to apply at CN at different terminals for the last 4.5 months but get rejected every time. Even when I tried to make a profile and resume with the same address as the terminal where I applied, I still got refused.

I’ve been “under consideration” for multiple positions with CSX all over the country and near where I live. I have gotten through multiple steps of the process and have essentially been waiting since March when I began applying for these positions. My question is would it be helpful to call a specific rail yard to ask for an update on the status of the position or ask if there’s anything they need from me to get more visibility? Or would they not have that information at the location?
